My Trackpad Scroll Direction Natural does not work despite preferences being correctly selected. Have upgraded and restarted. The function works when I'm logged in as another user but when I created my new (main) user this essential function does not work. 15 inch Macbook Pro.

Recently my mighty mouse scroll wheel as lost the ability to scroll upwards. I presume it's like the ball on the bottom of an old mouse and needs cleaning but don't know how to get into it to clean?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have bought a macbook pro in the late 2009.. and its sudden motion sensor is repositioned (in version 5.3) and it works in the other way around.. when i try with programs that use the sensor to make sth.. like when you move right, the things going upwards.. and when you move in the y direction things are moving in the x direction..
So has anybody have this problem?
And i have been reading articles about new version Smackbooks which works with this version but nothing was helpful so far..
I am calling those people who have the same version as me and have some proper apps to work with our version...
How do I quickly change writing direction in mail without going trough 7 different menu options? Is there a quick keyboard shortcut, or maybe an icon I can add to the mail bar?

I really miss being able to flick to auto scroll when not using the magic mouse.
Seems this should be possible?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI just spilled literally about four drops of water on my trackpad. However it was in the bottom left corner and some may have got through. When I rebooted (I know I panicked should not have turned it on 10 minutes later) It worked briefly and then I could not scroll or click. I have applecare, but I don't think it covers this.

View 22 Replies View RelatedI've had a late 2011 Macbook Pro for about 4 mths and all of a sudden the trackpad has developed some problems. If I swipe a page it won't allow me to scroll up or down again on the new page that I have swiped too, it freezes. At times when I activate the back button nothing happens and I have to exit out of the site when the page freezes. The scroll only freezes immediately after swiping and not at other times when I'm moving up and down the screens.

How so I make it so text in text boxes runs in the traditional chinese style. Characters in text boxes should run down the page instead of across the page.

In Flash apps, scroll fields don't respond to my mouse wheel or trackpad scrolls.
This was a widely discussed issue a few years ago, but I'm not finding any recent chatter.
Running Snow Leopard on a Blackbook; latest Flash (10.0.45.2).
My trackpad won't allow me to scroll properly, it moves on its own, opens random files, and creates folders on my desktop. I have tried cleaning my trackpad, but it is still not working properly.

Why won't my magic trackpad recognize a 2 finger scrolling motion when it recognizes all of the other motions on the video?
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor some reason, the scroll ball on my mouse fails to scroll down but will scroll up. I've obviously accidently changed something.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI don't know why but, I cannot change the option of scroll bar in General, System Preferences. Every time I turned it to "Automatically based on mouse or trackpad", it always changes back to "Always" the next time I launch the System Preferences.

I have a new macbook pro. Scrolling, i.e. 2-finger, on the trackpad often, but randomly, results in font size changes (e.g. in Safari, mail, etc.); in word and powerpoint it often changes a word or paragraph to subscript or superscript. This also happens often with cursor movement on the trackpad, i.e. single finger sweeps. It appears that trackpad usage is randomly triggering command+ or command-.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've had an iPhone for the last few years and am used to the direction of swiping on the iPhone. I recently purchased a macbook pro and noticed that the scrolling on the iPhone and Macbook occur in the opposite direction when scrolling from top to bottom and it's driving me crazy. I'm looking for a way to change the direction that the window moves when using the two finger swipe on my macbook pro.
When scrolling though web pages on the iPhone, sliding your finger from the top of the phone to the bottom displays text above the current viewing window. In other words, if I place my finger over a word and move my finger up or down my finger is still on top of the word when I'm done scrolling. Scrolling on the track pad of my macbook pro works in the opposite direction. On the macbook when I swipe two fingers from the top to the bottom of the track pad the text above the current window is shown. If I put my cursor over a word and two finger swipe the word moves in the opposite direction as my fingers. I would like to change this behavior so that scrolling occurs in the same manner that it does on the iPhone.
Is there a way to clean up the mighty mouse? My scroll wheel no longer works right.

I recently plugged my Belkin USB mouse into my Black MacBook. All works OK, except that I cannot change the number of lines jumped when I use the scroll wheel.
The "Scrolling Speed" setting in System Preferences > Mouse doesn't do anything.
Any ideas? Is there a config file I can change via Terminal?
One of my fans died on my G4 dual 1ghz. I took it out, got a new fan but I forgot which way it is supposed to blow the air. I put it in so it sucks air into the tower towards the processor, but I'm a bit unsure maybe it is supposed to blow the air out?
I forgot to check before I pulled it out. Here is a picture, if someone could please confirm the airflow direction that would be great.

View 20 Replies View RelatedI'm using a wireless Mighty Mouse with a Mac Mini (the newest model) and am running 10.6.3.
The scroll wheel can scroll up just fine, but scrolling down, it literally only scrolls down a fraction of a pixel (if that's even possible) per finger flickr/scroll.
I opened the Mouse panel from System Preferences and adjusted the Scroll setting, but no luck.
I have an late 08 unibody Mbp and a 11 mba, I have noticed the glass trackpad on the air is much closer to the glass on an iphone in the way your finger reacts to it... the least bit of moisture and your finger doesn't glide as easily. On the pro it seems to have more of a coating to allow for smoother use under these normal conditions (humidity). Has anyone else noticed this? bottom line the air trackpad almost seems more polished.
