I was wondering if there was a way to enable scroll button click scrolling in Safari 4 on Snow Leopard?
I'm sure there's a proper term for it, but what I mean is when you press down on the scroll wheel and a circle appears on screen with two arrows, when you move your mouse up or down it allows you to scroll through long documents quicker. I think Firefox and Internet Explorer have it.
I read that USB Overdrive might be of use, but it wont recognise my mouse (Logitech MX 620).
I've had issues with this before but now I can't seem to get the scroll button to work for any longer than 10 minutes or so. I have used clean cloth or mousepad to work button so that it works and used spray can air to clean out still...only works for a short time before it stops scrolling up or down. If anyone else has had this issue and solved it, can you let me know how to fix mine? I am feeling like this thing is a piece of junk right now.

I recently plugged my Belkin USB mouse into my Black MacBook. All works OK, except that I cannot change the number of lines jumped when I use the scroll wheel.
The "Scrolling Speed" setting in System Preferences > Mouse doesn't do anything.
Any ideas? Is there a config file I can change via Terminal?
so my mouse pad clicker stopped working about a month ago. So I switched to tapping the pad. Now, I can move The cursor around but can't click. Now, my wife needs to print Work documents but I can't click.

magic mouse won't scroll in os x 10.7.3
View 4 Replies View RelatedThe mouse was working then suddenly won't scroll. Tried deleting the pref and no luck. Tried restoring back to Snow Leopard from SuperDuper and the mouse worked fine. Reinstalled Lion and it won't scroll. Don't have USB Overdrive on the machine. Suspect a software conflict but have no idea where it could be. Haven't put anything new on it recently that I can remember. Hopefully someone has an idea 'cause for the first time in 15 or more years with a Macint9osh I am stumped!

I really miss being able to flick to auto scroll when not using the magic mouse.
Seems this should be possible?

Safari after update to 5.1.4, has a bug in interface on Snow Leopard (10.6.8): 'add bookmark' button (combined with addres bar), and horizontal scroll bar didn't look good. I think, that shouldn't happend on flagship Apple browser, on just a little older OS X than 'Lion'.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSometimes my Mighty Mouse allows me to scroll up or down, and at other times it only allows me to scroll up. This seems to be a hit and miss situation, and I have not been able to identify any activity that causes it to malfunction. Perhaps some others out there know what's going on, and how to set it straight.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI love the mouse (is it the mighty mouse?) which comes with the imac. The little scroll ball is brilliant especially for say scrolling down in itunes. But I always find that sometimes it won't work in a variety of different ways. i.e.
1) Sometimes it will let me scroll down but not up
2) sometimes up but not down
3) sometimes not up or down
4) occasionally it works both up and down.
As I type this I can go down but not down. I've had this problem on both our older IMac and now our new one. It can't be dust and muck and the ball does rotate. Why can't the ball just work all the time.
The scroll on my Mighty Mouse will not scroll down, only up.
This the second Mighty Mouse I've owned and the last one had this problem too.
Is this a common fault? The settings in System Preferences are fine.
I just received a used magic mouse that I bought, and it paired alright in terms of whether the machine (macbook late '07, running 10.5.8) recognizes it and I click just fine (both primary-button and secondary-button), but I can't seem to get it to scroll, in any direction. Am I missing something or was this just somebody offloading their faulty mouse on me?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've just bought a new Magic mouse for my Macbook Pro and although I've paired it using the Mouse preference pane I cannot get the scroll, swipe etc functions to work just the basic pointer and and click functions. I've run system updater and everything is up-to date - what am I doing wrong? I cannot get the options to configure it to even appear.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is the second Mighty Mouse that I have had this happen on, I've tried the usual use a piece of paper and run it around the edge, tip it upside down and scroll the ball about and I've even tried using a can of compressed air but both of my Mighty Mouses still wont scroll down. Obviously I don't want to have to shell out again for another of these far inferior mouses so I was wanting to know if anyone know how I could fix it or get Apple to send me a new one?

I have got a new magic mouse but it does not scroll, the scrolling feature does not show in mouse preferences, it only shows tracking speed and double-click speed. In Bluetooth preferences it says the mouse is connected and paired, but in Keyboard & Mouse Bluetooth preferences the keyboard name is there and it shows the battery level, but shows no name or battery level for the mouse.
