MacBook Air :: How To Get Rid Of Blue Hyperlinks In Firefox 32.0 And Latest Safari
Sep 7, 2014
So basically when I'm on an article or website ESPECIALLY AMAZON.COM (I use Amazon almost everyday) the annoying blue hyperlinks show up and when I scroll past them the show ads. How do I get rid of them??? Also, on Amazon.com on Firefox mainly, some type of malware changes the layout of Amazon to black and orange and puts boxes around everything!!! (2012 Mac book Air Running latest software)
DOesn't happen all the time but yahoo will often come in all out of alignment like a web page I would make. Tried cleaning caches, restart, etc. still not working
I don't now if its a coincidence in that its my system, tho', safari seems alright. But the latest update (and flash as well) with firefox well now the browser if very laggy in responsiveness. Anytime I do something scroll delete a tab pull down menu type something whatever. it lags a couple seconds before engaging
I may have 2 or 3 Tabs open and decided to open another, example Amazon. I start to look around and 'say' I want to find a CD cover to make a copy of to paste onto something, I find said CD and then all of a sudden nothing works, no hyper links, zero. The only way I can them to work again is to copy the present page I am on, open a new Tab, paste the link in and all works again? But the not the original Tab. Plus if I try the 'ctrl _ T/pad' to open the options you then get (to then copy subject for one) nothing, yet I tried this in Google Chrome just to test and see if that works and it does. As I was even writing this everything suddenly stop, could not even 'highlight' some of the text and copy (cmd + C) .........

Mozilla seems to be acknowledging speed issues in its Firefox web browser by adopting an updated rendering engine and architectural improvements that have significantly improved speed in the latest Firefox 3.0 beta. The Firefox 2.0 browser has been known to be one of the most sluggish browsers available, a fact that other companies such as Apple have highlighted in speed comparison tests. Mozilla also claims to have fixed more than 300 memory leaks. Full release notes available at:
suddenly not responding to mouse clicks till I quit from the dock and open it again. It's particularly noticeable with the IMDB and eBay.I don't see any problem in always agreeing to whatever update if finds on opening it because I know it's in constant development
Once i installed the latest safari update and the computer restarted, my date settings were changed to December 31, 2000. Also, random programs popped up, asking if i should allow or deny them. As well, i was disconnected from the internet. I'm not quite sure what has caused this.
I updated safari (and now I did OSX, and its still slow) and performance is slow, unpredictable and randomly dies. The network is perfect though and this issue does not happen in transmission.
Today a new auto-update came up and I ran it - it included a tweak to 10.7.3 as well as Safari and a few others. My Safari (5.2) got completely trashed. Will not even open any more - all it does is crash immediately upon launch. I have a Time Machine backup from about 40 minutes earlier I can recover from if needed. Meanwhile I'm lucky I have a MacBook Pro as well, and am able to get online while I am completely restoring Lion from a patchstick.Â
I'll post the crash report (I copied and saved it) once I get back up.Incidentally, I've been getting a lot of crashes in Mail as well. Always when the computer is asleep. Anyone else having these problems - or have a solution?
I have iMac 27 and screen problem on start up i have blue vertical lines, when it start i have a lot of blue dots and nothing else. when I connect outside monitor its showing the same.
Just installed lion and still the same problem when it starts blue dots, when startup in safe mode loads of blue lines and dots on the screen.
dont think its affecting the rest of my coimputer but when im on the net, its going pretty slow and almost like lags. been happening since yesterday and not sure whats going on...
My Macbook is not even a month old yet and already I'm encountering problems.
1) Safari (7.0.4) won't quit several times and I have to force shut down by pressing the power button for a few seconds.
2) I keep having problems where pictures won't load and instead a blue box with a question mark is there. (on sites like Tumblr and Facebook and others as well) (at first I thought it was the site but the sites open perfectly on other computers).
I saw a thread the other day that alluded that Chrome or FF were memory hogs vs Safari. I have FF on my iMac and like it fairly well, my wife really prefers it. I have not installed it on my MBA because of the comments that I read the other day. It seemed like someone also posted Chrome was almost or as bad. There have been some spirited threads on how to keep our Airs running at top efficiency, going both easy on the RAM and on the battery life. The general consensus amongst members is Flash with a Flash filter plugin such as ClickToFlash battery life. If a browser is a memory hog will it also hasten the battery's discharge or just sap your RAM? Or would the user never really notice the difference unless they were tunnel visioned on their system monitor whilst surfing the web?
The HD crashed about 2 years ago, and since the replacement (TOSHIBA MK6034GSX 60GB) the CPU will go very hot 80+C and the fan going to 6200rpm if visiting some internet pages. Normally a problem if (when) the kids are playing free online games or visiting youtube or similar. Made a screenshot, notice CPU usage around 112%, smartfan showing 70C and 6200rpm. I have taken the mac physically apart and cleaned the cooling duct and applyed new thermal paste. Didn't help. It drives me crazy, I hate noisy computers.
Firefox has been pissing me off lately, I wanna give Safari a go-around. How can I transfer my favorites. I saved my favorites from Firefox in the normal, .json format, but Safari doesnt not recognize that type of file.
I'm making the move to mac, (will have my mac pro Tuesday) I was curious to which is everyones prefered web browser with mac cause I've never used safari..how does safari rank with firefox and chrome? What do the majority of you guys use and really how is the overall web browssing experience on the macbook pro..?
I recently got a mac with the version 10.4 on it. I want to use the itunes store but it says that it requires the safari 4.0.3 or higher version on it. But when I try to download this version it says it requires mac 10.5 in order to run. Is there a version of Safari 4.0.3 for mac 10.4?
I have flashed based videos on my website and an uploader that requires flash to be installed. Does anyone know how to turn it back on in the new Safari? Everything works fine in Chrome. Would prefer to stick with Safari if its possible to fix it.
I'm running 5.1.5 in Lion. When I click the "Print Label" button to ship a package on UPS as I've done for years, the button links to a UPS "Page Not Found" page. I'm not running in private mode or using the pop-up blocker, so I don't know what's going on. The button works just fine in Chrome. Haven't tried other browsers.
