I have flashed based videos on my website and an uploader that requires flash to be installed. Does anyone know how to turn it back on in the new Safari? Everything works fine in Chrome. Would prefer to stick with Safari if its possible to fix it.
This started happening before today's update to 10.4.11. I was running Safari 2.0.4 and am still having the same problem with 3.0.4. No flash will work in Safari, it was working fine and then just stopped for no apparent reason. Flash based websites won't load, YouTube video won't load, basically nothing that involves flash will work in Safari. Firefox works perfectly fine. I've tried uninstalling flash with Adobe's uninstaller and reinstalling it and then repairing permissions. I've tried deleting the plugins myself and reinstalling, that didn't work either. I have no idea what's going on, things worked fine and all of the sudden it won't work at all.
I recently updated Flash, and it's no longer working properly. On many sites it works just fine (YouTube, for instance). On some sites, however, it loads but doesn't work, if that makes sense. For instance, on [URL] where Flash is used, it shows a loading symbol stuck at 51%. When I right click and select settings, the settings panel for Flash pops up but everything is grayed out and it won't even close when 'close' is clicked.
I am running Safari 5.1.5 on Lion 10.7.3. For about a year now, I have been having trouble running Adobe Flash Player to view videos. I can verify that I have Flash Player 11.2.202.235 installed, but on some (not all) website, most notably [URL] I just get a button to "Get Adobe Flash Player" even though I already have it. Flash-based ads work fine, it's really just for videos. I end up having to watch the non-working videos on Chrome where they work fine.
Every time I go to update my Adobe Flash it tells me I cannot continue unless I close the safari, but I do not have it open, and I am unsure of what to do to get it to successfully download.
For some reason that I cant explain I am unable to watch any youTube videos on my iMac. I have "click to Flash" installed and can watch flash content on all other sites. When I login to my account at youTube I also need to click to flash but then I get instead of the video, a "go Upgrade". I took this to mean that the flash player needed upgrading so I agreed to download the latest Flash Player and installed it. This has made no difference. I even went so far as to create a new YouTube account with a different e-mail address but nothing helps. Can anyone please give me some advice what I can do or try to get to watch the YouTube videos? This problem is only when I use Safari. Using Firefox I can watch youTube.
Where is the help for the latest malware attack from flash player? I am running mac ox x v10.7 lion, and everything that I can find says to download Java and neither of them will work. 10.6 update says its for version 10.6. java for osx date 7 says it will damage hard drive How do I know if I have this and what can I do to protect my computer? I JUST DOWNLOADED FLASH PLAYER A WEEK AGO. I deleted it from my computer but how do I know if I have malware??

I just purchased an iMac OS X version 10.7.3. My kids keep trying to play games but are prompted that they need to download Adobe Flash player. I follow the prompts for the latest version, but no luck. It says it's successfully installed. When I go to system preferences and click on the flash player, it says "plug in version 11.2.202.228 is installed" but when I click the "check now" box and it tells me to the Adobe websitem, under version information it says I have 9.0.124.0 installed? I have uninstalled and reinstalled countless times to no avail.

I think since I updated my mac OS X lion 10.7.2 to 10.7.3. I cannot open YouTube no matter the browser I use it's always the same, so I checked my flash player version and I have the latest one so I don't think the flash player is the problem, I don't know what to do.
I'm trying to read news sites and my eye is distracted by things bouncing around in adverts. It's even worse when they're playing obnoxious sounds until you click the mute button in them. Therefore I just thought I'd let people know about this wonderful piece of software. I've seen it mentioned a few times here but even if this thread only helps a few people I think it'll be worth it:[URL]Not only does it hide these horrific insults to humanity (ok a bit strong perhaps), it actually prevents them loading, therefore your pages load quicker! And it's completely unobtrusive! If you want to watch flash file, simply click on in.
I updated safari (and now I did OSX, and its still slow) and performance is slow, unpredictable and randomly dies. The network is perfect though and this issue does not happen in transmission.
Today a new auto-update came up and I ran it - it included a tweak to 10.7.3 as well as Safari and a few others. My Safari (5.2) got completely trashed. Will not even open any more - all it does is crash immediately upon launch. I have a Time Machine backup from about 40 minutes earlier I can recover from if needed. Meanwhile I'm lucky I have a MacBook Pro as well, and am able to get online while I am completely restoring Lion from a patchstick.Â
I'll post the crash report (I copied and saved it) once I get back up.Incidentally, I've been getting a lot of crashes in Mail as well. Always when the computer is asleep. Anyone else having these problems - or have a solution?
I recently got a mac with the version 10.4 on it. I want to use the itunes store but it says that it requires the safari 4.0.3 or higher version on it. But when I try to download this version it says it requires mac 10.5 in order to run. Is there a version of Safari 4.0.3 for mac 10.4?
I'm running 5.1.5 in Lion. When I click the "Print Label" button to ship a package on UPS as I've done for years, the button links to a UPS "Page Not Found" page. I'm not running in private mode or using the pop-up blocker, so I don't know what's going on. The button works just fine in Chrome. Haven't tried other browsers.
I'm getting a prompt to install the latest update for OSX and Safari. Can download it okay but when it gets to 'configuring' it stalls. Not doing anything. I have to hold the power button down to shut down then start the system up again. This has happened three times. Anyone else have this? Anyone know what is up with it?
I have a MacBook Pro, about two years old, with no probs up until last night when I accepted the latest Apple Update ( itunes, security, etc ). That's when all the problems started. Now I can't get into Mail or Safari, & after getting no response from either, I am having to do a "force quit" to get out of either of the applications. I am getting the same error message each time PubSubAction has quit unexpectedly. Does anyone know what this actually means? I asked the guy at the Apple Shop & he had no idea, & the other people working there had never heard of it either. It just seems very sus that as soon as I downloaded the latest updates these two apps begun having problems. Prior to my updating, I had sent off emails, done the banking online, paid bills & checked my items on eBay. Nothing terribly much & definately didn't accept any files- except the apple updates, when I rebooted, etc. Once the computer rebooted, it now takes between 5 to 10 minutes to start up. Anyway, being that I'm pretty much puter illiterate & a helpless female with these matters as well, just wondering if anyone out there ( female and male ) can offer any suggestions or advice on this problem for me please.
I went out and got the new Nano 16g and had to install the latest version of itunes to get it to work. No problem, everything was working fine for a couple of days. I tried to browse the itunes store today, but it wouldn't work and a message stating that I need the latest version of Safari to access the itunes store.
I tried to download Safari but it wouldn't work, because apparently, I need the latest security update before I can get Safari to download. I have tried to get the Security to download a few times now and a message stating "Security won't download to your computer". This has become frustrating and I am limited with my mac skills and computer skills in general.
I have the older 10.4.11 core 2 duo osx. I think I am choosing the appropriate software options. (Tiger) I have enough memory left on my computer as well.
Just updated my software and now safari can't connect to websites. It connects for a bit then after awhile it will no longer connect. Firefox and Chrome are connecting fine so this is a safari only issue with the latest update.
Safari Version 5.1.5 (7534.55.3)
Quiting safari and restarting works for a little while then eventually 'can't connect to server' eventually appears. I'm going back to firefox until this is resolved.
I am running Safari 5.1.5 on a recent macbook air.Â
I have a web-site and when I change it safari on the macbook will continue to show an old version of the site. (the site is updated, as safari on my ipad does show the recent version).Â
I have refreshed; no change I have emptied the cache; no change I have reset safari; no change.Â
This is driving me crazy. I've just downloaded and reinstalled the latest Adobe Reader. But Safari is still acting up. I see the watch icon instead of my mouse when I click on a link to a PDF. Then I just see a white screen and I end up having to force quit Safari.
I'm running Lion 10.7.3 on my iMac and Macbook Air. I upgrade 1Password to the latest build (3.8.16) on my iMac last week but didn't use safari on it until yesterday when I noticed that Safari just opens blank with a spinning beachball? Not a major problem as I've been using my Air..... but just now when I also upgrade 1Password on the Air, Safari stops working and same issue. Firefox works fine.
So basically when I'm on an article or website ESPECIALLY AMAZON.COM (I use Amazon almost everyday) the annoying blue hyperlinks show up and when I scroll past them the show ads. How do I get rid of them??? Also, on Amazon.com on Firefox mainly, some type of malware changes the layout of Amazon to black and orange and puts boxes around everything!!! Once i installed the latest safari update and the computer restarted, my date settings were changed to December 31, 2000. Also, random programs popped up, asking if i should allow or deny them. As well, i was disconnected from the internet. I'm not quite sure what has caused this.
