10.7.4 frequently freezes with the translucent dialog to power down then power up. This is not isolated to any particular application. Started with the upgrade to 10.7.4. Bluetooth device Bose Wireless Sound-link will not play either but does show connection.

New MacBook Air...internal speakers work fine. Have Bose speakers that I just tested on my Dell laptop, so I know they work. When I plug them into the headphone jack I get no sound. Volume is up and mute is not on.Â

So I bought some BOSE Companion 20 speakers and when plugged in to my iMac I get great sound on the intsruments but little or no vocals. When plugged into the iPhone with the same EQ settings I get absolutely no issues and it's a perfect sound all around.Â

I've rearranged my entire computer setup at home, and I'd like to watch movies on a 30" display hooked up to a Powerbook G4, and play the audio through the Bose Companion 5's connected to my iMac.
View 3 Replies View RelatedNot sure if this is possible, I'm sure there's someone out there who would be able to tell me either way. I've got a D Link router thats plugged into my 50mb in my lounge. I'd like to put my airport express in my kitchen and pair them so its the same network. The reason for this is that I have my HIFI in the kitchen which will be plugged into my airport so I can use it as remote speakers for my itunes while I'm still connected to the 50mb and D Link. Is this possible?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just bought a Dual Link DVI to HDMI cable. From what I know I will be able to get sound out of of this set up. However, I cannot fingure out how to get sound via HDMI. Â
There is no such option when I went to sound preference, unline when I was using a minidisplay port to HDMI adapter where I could hear sound on my HDTV via HDMI. Â
If I could get sound out of dual link dvi to hdmi cable, what do I need to do in order to get the sound working via HDMI instead of Analog Line Out. Â
I was frustrated because the minidisplay port/adapter does not work for bootcamp, so I went out and bought dual link dvi to hdmi cable instead. Graphic is as great as HDMI, but I could not figure out how to get the sound via hdmi while using this setup. Â Â

When I connect my macbook air to my television with a HDMI and minijack I get no sound ... Why is that? Other computers (including macs) work with my television that way.

I used to have a White Macbook. This connected to my Sony Bravia via a Mini DVI-DVI, then a DVI-HDMI cable. The sound went from the headphone jack on the MB to two connectors on the TV (L&R). Job done.
Now I have a MBP and am trying the same thing. I have a Mini Displayport-HDMI cable, with the HDMI then going to the TV. I have the same audio connection. The result is perfect picture but no sound at all.
Does anyone have any idea how I can get the sound working? I have the same issue with my unibody Macbook as well. These are the connections I have on the TV;
Connector Type: 2 x HDMI ( 19 pin HDMI Type A ) 1 x VGA input ( 15 PIN HD D-Sub (HD-15) ) 1 x S-Video input ( 4 PIN mini-DIN ) 1 x SPDIF output ( TOS Link ) 1 x headphones ( mini-phone stereo 3.5 mm ) Composite video input ( RCA phono ) Component video input ( RCA phono x 3 ) 2 x SCART ( 21 PIN SCART ) 1 x audio line-in ( mini-phone stereo 3.5 mm ) Audio line-in ( RCA phono x 2 ) 1 x audio line-out ( RCA phono x 2 )
pretty new to the Mac side of things. I got my MBP about 3 weeks ago I think. I got a mini display to hdmi adapter (off ebay, so this may be the problem). I hooked it up to my laptop and tv and it took me a while to find the mirroring box but I got that working so what's on my computer pops up on the tv. I go to play a tv show, and the sound is just on my computer. I went under system pref and sound but only "internal speakers" is available for the output. Am I doing something wrong? Or do I just have a cheap adapter?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI spent most of last night trying to get this done! No problems with the vision, cable between Macbook and HDMI input on the TV is fine. I have a 3.5mm Jack to Phono lead which I thought would work for the Audio. No sound. Maybe I'm not setting the Sony TV up properly, or I'm putting them in the wrong inputs (I've tried the all I think). There is a headphone (3.5mm) on the TV...but surely that's an output.

So a friend of mine just bought an iMac and is trying to use it on her wireless network. Before the iMac was bought she could use the wireless network I. Her house fine but since the iMac got hooked up the computers can't be online at the same time.
If the MacBook is on and the iMac is off the Internet works on the MacBook and vice versa. Is there anyway a firewall is preventing both computers from connecting to the same wireless network? If so, is there anything you can do to help me out to get them both working properly?A netgear router that was provided by time warner is being used and I'm not sure if y'all need anymore information than that.
How do I do this? Wireless network setup, works great with my WM10 PC, but I want to set it up w/my macbook pro.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI currently have a D-Link WBR-1310 802.11g wireless router, which is the only router I have on the network. It is housed in the basement, and I use my computer on the top (third) floor. If I were to buy an Airport Express, would I be able to add it to my existing network while keeping the D-Link? If so, how would I?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am a Windows user at the moment and plan to get a MBP in a few months. I am currently using a D-Link DIR-655 router. My house is a 2 story plus basement, and the D-link pretty much needs to be in the basement. We get excellent wifi reception in much of the house, but it is very spotty on the 2nd floor (an open to the first floor loft) and on the end of the first floor of the house opposite the router.
I like the idea of being able to use AirTunes, so I was thinking of buying an Airport Express as an extender to get usable reception throughout the house. I figure eventually, I may replace the D-Link with an Airport Extreme.
So can I do this wirelessly or do I have to wire the Express to the D-Link? Doing so would involve making holes in things that I don't want to make holes in, so I will put up with a spotty wifi network rather than getting an extender. Our house is a log home with hardwood floors and wood walls and ceilings throughout, so it is not as easy as patching some drywall if we decide to get rid of the wire/hole someday.
I am not a power user, not a gamer and if I want to download huge files, I can do so on the laptop in the basement. I just want a decent wireless connection throughout the house, and would like the ability to stream iTunes.
And if the Airport cannot be a repeater for the D-Link, what about the reverse, with the Airport as the base and the D-Link as the repeater?
I recently reinstalled MAC OS X on my unibody MBP. I've installed all the updates and it's been working fine until now. When it goes to sleep automatically I press a key and it wakes up then the Airport icon in the bar at the top of the desktop stays greyed out. I have to go in and manually connect to my router each time the machine wakes from sleep.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI am not sure how to describe it properly, but since 10 minutes ago, my trackpad on my 13"mbp has been making a weird clicking sound. Normally, it makes a click which is regular, just like the store units/how it should be, however for the last 10 minutes the BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER ONLY makes a weird longer noise which I cannot properly describe. its almost like a rattling noise, or something that sounds like its breaking. had this mbp since july this year, and i do have apple care (got it on student discount price!!
Just wondering if you know what the problem is, Or if it is going to be a problem/if trackpad may be breaking Or if I rang apple/took instore what would they do. Reason why I havent immediately took it in is because if MBP could get new processors soon, I could take it in after refresh in the small chance I get a new computer replacement..........
Airport sucks. A lot. It works just fine in WEP or unprotected networks, but WPA-PSK it doesn't do a damn thing. It shows it as connected with a full signal, but Safari, iChat, etc... won't connect to the internet. For some reason Azureus works, but it's going at an amazing 146 bytes/sec and then back down to 0. What's going on here guys? This is my first Mac and I am sorely disappointed in Airport.

I am a new intern with a small company and am trying to connect my Macbook Pro's printer settings to our office printer, which is a LanierLD145. We halso have an HP3600 on the same wireless network which my Macbook can detect and print to just fine via the shared network server. However, when I try to find the LanierLD145 I can't find it anywhere on my shared network or via a wireless to connection in order to print to it from my laptop.
I have access to the desktop I believe the printer is routed to the server through and have "shared printer with network" via this computer. However, I still cannot find the LD145 icon on my macbook when I try to connect and print, even when going through the "Windows"-> (shared server) route. I've also installed apple's "general lanier printer driver" in hopes have luck finding the printer if I have the driver installed, but that has not worked either. How I can connect the macbook to the LanierLD145 via my wireless server connection?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Mac PowerBook G4, a Sony PSP 2004 and a wireless internet access SpeedTouchF3629 and I cant access internet with my PSP. I already got to the webpage of PSP registration and made all the steps they asked me to do. When I make the download of the software PSNDownloaderSetup.exe, it is not identified by my PowerBookG4 as a executable program. I tried before I downloaded this software with the PSP in the Network settings, I made all the steps to the installation and it always said: "There has been a connection error. It has not been possible to establish a connection to the access point. Check the security settings for the network and try it again". So I think, or maybe I am wrong!, that if I can make this software work, maybe I can access internet wireless with my PSP?
