View 1 Replies10.7.4 frequently freezes with the translucent dialog to power down then power up. This is not isolated to any particular application. Started with the upgrade to 10.7.4. Bluetooth device Bose Wireless Sound-link will not play either but does show connection.

How to connect a previously paired macbook air to a bose wireless soundlink? I can pair them, but they will not connect.

Macbook Pro will not recognize Bose sound link.

New MacBook Air...internal speakers work fine. Have Bose speakers that I just tested on my Dell laptop, so I know they work. When I plug them into the headphone jack I get no sound. Volume is up and mute is not on.

MacBook Air, Mac OS X (10.7.3)
So I bought some BOSE Companion 20 speakers and when plugged in to my iMac I get great sound on the intsruments but little or no vocals. When plugged into the iPhone with the same EQ settings I get absolutely no issues and it's a perfect sound all around.

I have a problem with my 17'' MBP unibody:
1) Bluetooth is ON:
I can't turn it off. The checkbox is inactive.
But I can turn it off, if I choose "Share my internet connection for other units". (I don't know, if this is the right text in english, because my OSX is in german)
2) Now Bluetooth is OFF:
But I can't turn it on, because the checkbox "ON" is inactive.
It turns only on, if I choose "New Unit"(?). Then there is a new window, that says, that this is only possible if Bluetooth turns on. If I say OK, bluetooth turns ON.
Back to 1)
What's the problem. Why is this f* checkbox for turning bluetooth on and off inactive?
This is not a hardware problem, because I can have stable bluetooth connections.
I did a smc and am pram reset. But it doesn't help.
I turned off the bluetooth function and my keyboard and mouse wont now work and I cant get back into the system - how do I reactivate without the use of the keyboard ?

I sent my question about 3 weeks ago but have yet to hear from your team.
i've not had a problem linking to my imac to my nokia e50 via bluetooth. it's after the update to OS10.5.6 that the bluetooth function doesn't work anymore.
each time, after selecting my cellphone as the bluetooth device to be browsed, I'll have to wait for at least 1 minute for the connection to be done.
after this, I'll still can't link my cellphone to my imac.
how to resolve the situation?
my imac specs are as follows:
2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
I just purchased a new set of BT speakers from Sharper Image and successfully paired it with my MBA (1.6/80).. and it sounds terrible I am fussing with the equalizer without much luck. What makes it worse is that I paired the speakers with my Blackberry 8300, and the phone sounds absolutely awesome playing the same mp3 file.. Has anyone notices anything about the sound output of the MBA, especially over BT?? Anything I can do to fix this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a Bose SoundLink Mini bluetooth speaker. It pairs up and connects fine with both my iPad Mini and Macbook Pro. The sound quality is excellent on playback from iTunes on the iPad Mini, however when I connect with the Macbook Pro....I am getting terrible popping and cracking sounds. I am using Lion 10.7.5 on the Macbook Pro. Wondering if it must be some issue with the operating system since I DON'T have the problem when I play audio from the iPad Mini.

Is it possible to turn of the sound of one safari window and keep the sound on in another? If it is, how do i do it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just bought a Dual Link DVI to HDMI cable. From what I know I will be able to get sound out of of this set up. However, I cannot fingure out how to get sound via HDMI.
There is no such option when I went to sound preference, unline when I was using a minidisplay port to HDMI adapter where I could hear sound on my HDTV via HDMI.
If I could get sound out of dual link dvi to hdmi cable, what do I need to do in order to get the sound working via HDMI instead of Analog Line Out.
I was frustrated because the minidisplay port/adapter does not work for bootcamp, so I went out and bought dual link dvi to hdmi cable instead. Graphic is as great as HDMI, but I could not figure out how to get the sound via hdmi while using this setup.

I appear to be unable to turn off my bluetooth. The option has totally disappeared. Have not a clue why. I'm running 10.6.4 on a Late 2008 Macbook.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been having lots of problems with Bluetooth lately. It would randomly go out and the icon at the menu bar would say "Bluetooth: Not Available" and I won't have the option to turn it off or on. I use it for my Mighty Mouse and Apple Keyboard and they both have good batteries.

View 19 Replies View RelatedEvery computer I ever had, the first thing I do is to turn off the startup sound because it is very annoying in a public place and sometimes in a quiet place. I have not been able to find out how to trun it off on my Air. I asked the guys at the stores and they just say you can't. That is really dumb. I turned off my speaker but that is not a practical way because I may not remember to turn it off when I shut down.
how do I turn it off permenantly.

Is there a way to turn off the little bluetooth message box that pops up for a second or two on the screen when a bluetooth device is connected or connection is lost?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am not sure how to describe it properly, but since 10 minutes ago, my trackpad on my 13"mbp has been making a weird clicking sound. Normally, it makes a click which is regular, just like the store units/how it should be, however for the last 10 minutes the BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER ONLY makes a weird longer noise which I cannot properly describe. its almost like a rattling noise, or something that sounds like its breaking. had this mbp since july this year, and i do have apple care (got it on student discount price!!
Just wondering if you know what the problem is, Or if it is going to be a problem/if trackpad may be breaking Or if I rang apple/took instore what would they do. Reason why I havent immediately took it in is because if MBP could get new processors soon, I could take it in after refresh in the small chance I get a new computer replacement..........
I turned of my mac the other day, it took 5 minutes to turn on. Bluetooth wouldn't work and the keyboard and mouse can't connect without it how can I turn it on? I have a small USB mouse to scroll around but how can I turn it on without a keybord. I looked on the bluetooth menu it just said bluetooth no available.

I am using XP Pro under bootcamp on a Macbook Aluminum 2.0 Ghz. I was wondering if there was a way to turn off bluetooth to conserve battery life. Also, there is a major difference in battery life between Windows and OS X. In OS X I get about 4 - 5 Hours. Whereas when I'm in XP I get about 2 - 3 Hours. Is this normal?

I have a mid 2009 13 inch MBP and am trying to output sound through a bluetooth device.
The bluetooth device is a BCK-08 Slim AD2P Stereo Bluetooth Receiver
[URL]
Once connected as a device, nothing shows up in sound output though.
I can easily connect it to my iPhone 5 and output stereo music sound through it so I know the bluetooth device is working fine.
are there any external tools I can use to assess the situation? I seem to recall the old bluetooth setup assistant would ask what you wanted to use the device for while setting up.

I'm fairly new to the MAC world and have not found my way around this computer completely. I have seen a commercial of an iMAC sending email and a swishing sound occurred when the email was sent. I wonder how one turns on the sound that indicates the email has been transmitted? And, are there choices of different sounds for this purpose?
