Aug 4, 2010I am trying to play a couple of games on my mac mini 2010 and when they play full screen I only get 4:3 display and I cant get it to stretch to widescreen. I have tried all resolutions but the game still goes to 4:3 when I select fullscreen. I have my Mini connected to a 40" tv via HDMI.

Mar 7, 2009I was told to run Vista 64bit for games, but I was wondering about this� Since many applications don�t even have a 64bit version out and I don�t think games are 64bit, will they all run under vista 64bit? I have a feeling this might be a dumb question, but I just wanted to make sure before I go out and buy Vista 64.
Also do you think windows 7 is better for games? Will it even run games that have not been written for it? Or would I just be better sticking with vista 64 until everyone has caught up and made their apps compatible with the new windows 7? I mean will antivirus programs, ripping apps, etc work under windows 7 without a hitch, or should I wait and just use vista64 for now?
Mac Mini :: Unable To Get Dual Displays / Using Mini DVI And Mini DisplayPorts
Sep 12, 2010I have an Early 2009 Mac Mini with Mini DVI and Mini DisplayPort. And I have two 1080p HDTVs. The Mac Mini is capable of dual display, and I've gotten it to work before, so the issue is not the TV or Mac. And I have tried both Mirroring and No Mirroring.
I got a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter (#5311) and a Mini-DVI to HDMI Adapter (#4852) both from MonoPrice. And for some reason I can't get the Mac Mini to dual display, it's only one or the other.
Before I had a Mini Displayport Male and USB Male AUDIO to HDMI Female Converting Adapter (#5969) and I got video on both HDTVs, but not audio at the same time b/c one was USB and one was TOSLINK.
I'm not sure why I can't get video on both monitors. Any help?

Apr 6, 2009I need to connect my 09' Mac Mini to my Yamaha RX-V2700 receiver which outputs to my Sony XBR HDTV. I know the mini has both mini-dvi to dvi and mini-dp to dvi or hdmi available via adapters. I was thinking to go with option 1 however I was wondering what is your opinions? Is mini-display port better over mini-dvi or are they the same? Audio will be carried over optical toslink.
Option 1:
Using mini-dvi adapter to dvi: Connect Dvi-Hdmi cable to receiver and output audio with toslink adapter.
Option 2:
Using mini-dp adapter to dvi or hdmi: Connect Dvi-Hdmi cable to receiver and output audio with toslink adapter.

Aug 21, 2009I am wanting to get a new Macbook Pro. I will be running osx 75% of the time and then will be running bootcamp for windows xp for a online game. My question is: will the mac run the video game without a problem while running bootcamp and will it over heat and crash on me. The game is online and the box says it requires 1G ram and a shader .2 or more video card and 120harddrive. And another question I had was will the computer be exposed to viruses while useing windows, if so i will only use windows for the gaming, will this prevent the harmful viruses. I am sure this will work on the mac useing bootcamp but I wanted to ask someone who knew a little bit more about it

Mar 7, 2008 I just recently purchased a Macbook Pro for my college major this year. I had a PC before it, but it crashed and I dont want to have to buy another one since I already payed $2000+ for the Macbook Pro. I have a few PC games that I would still like to play.
So I used Boot Camp to put Windows Vista on my Mac then installed the games to it. The three games I put on Vista were Half-Life, The Longest Journey and Grim Fandango. So after installing each of them I tried to play them to make sure they worked. Both Grim Fandango and The Longest Journey started to load the game but were interrupted with an error message, not allowing me to play. Half-Life on the other hand loads and plays perfectly.
So my question is, is there some way for me to play the two games that didnt work? If so how can I get them to work. The only reason I put Vista on was so I could play those games. And if I cant get them to work I'm probably just gonna take Vista off of my Mac.

Oct 10, 2009Bassicly all is well with bootcamp, i downloaded it a few days back and its running good. The only problem is it is hopeless with windows games. I done research before i installed it that all these games would run fine on my specs and as soon as i play them its just very laggy. all settings are down completely low. The games i have problems with are COD 4, CSS, And Aion. My specs should be able to run them. Is it possible the ram is split or something between the 2 systems maybe?
On the windows side i have 80gb hard drive with 45gb free space remaining.
I have Windows XP Home edition, and the latest nvidia drivers installed.
Intel core 2 duo 2.00ghz. 1.99ghz *thats just what is ses* and 2.72gb of ram.
