I'm looking at both the i5 and i7 15" MBPs and I'm trying to find out how well each system would handle COD. I'm sure the i7 model would do much better since it has twice the VRAM. Has anyone here played either game on their MBP and if so, what type of FPS were you seeing?

However, when I tried opening the Multiplayer portion of the game, it said something like: This serial number is already in use' or something like that. I really want to play this game, but my friend won't uninstall or anything. So, what should I do?

recently I have installed Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 on my Bootcamp HD. It works like a charm. But I was wondering if it's possible to play the game from within Mac OSX Lion instead of rebooting my MacBook Pro into Windows 7 (Bootcamp).

I was downloading Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare to my MacBook, from App Store, and I'm not able anymore. Due to problems in my internet, the download was stopped and resumed several times. Now, I have my internet fixed but I cannot download the app anymore. When I hit INSTALL it seems like it will start but simply disappears from my Launchpad, without any error message. I've tried in different internets as well (different places).

View 3 Replies View RelatedEarlier today, maybe around 3PM, I was using my laptop, and it was charging and it was maybe around 60% battety life when out of no where it just shut off and even the light on my charger went out. When I turned it back on, the fan was running and there was an X over the battery icon. I've tried turning it off and on, and leaving it alone for a few hours, to see if it would resolve the problem but it didn't. It is currently 9:52PM, I'm still experiencing these problems and I'm using the exact laptop to type this, but I don't know how much battery life is left.

I'm wondering if I can just add another drive to my Mac Pro so that I can boot into OSX or XP or Vista? Can bootcamp handle more than one operating system or must I give up XP to have Vista? The windows bit is needed for games btw.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have my Mac Pro 2.8 8 core as my main machine. And my MBP 17 as my 'mobile' workstation when I'm on the road or out of the studio. I back up my MP system and files using CCC to an external drive. Usually I manually copy just the working folder of files that I need to my MBP and work away. When I get back to the studio I manually copy the same folder back to my MP. The question is.. is it ok to boot off my MP System + files backup off the external drive while connected to my MBP? And work off it. Both have system 10.5.7 installed. Will there be any problems with booting off essentially a MP configured system while working off the MBP's hardware. i.e., will there be any conflicting system files that may get confused and screwed up?
If it was safe, then I could essentially cloned back from the MP external sys+files back up - Back - on the MP. Just wanted to get some opinions and advice from others who probably have similar dual workstation & mobile machine set-ups. Just wondered how you handle the switching between systems? I just don't want to risk cloning back from the external to the MP and risk screwing the whole setup and configs! Otherwise I might just do what I have been doing and just manually copy the files/folders I need on the MBP. Do the work and then only just copy this folder back on the MP. Without any full system drive clones.
You need a 2.5 to 3.5 mounting bracket, correct? Does apple have their own sled to install SSDs into their pros?
View 6 Replies View RelatedStill working on getting audio exported to an AAF, and having problem doing this. So, how FCPX is handling my audio. When it's on the timeline, is it being conformed to the frame rate of the video?
When audio is exported, does FCPX force it to conform to the video frame rate in the project settings, audio properties, or both? Or does it allow the audio to export at whatever rate the original media is at?
I export an XML from FCPX, then open that with X2Pro and it makes an AAF file, but a report tells me that "Conform rates are not supported. The Conform rate at 01:04:49.23 has been ignored." So when I go to that timecode, all I see is video at 24p and a detached audio piece at 23.98. Why are these different?
