Mac Pro :: IMessage From IPhone Not Importing To Computer
Sep 11, 2014
The iMessages from my iPhone aren't importing to my computer. I am not sure why...they were when for a while, but stopped about a month ago. The iCloud accounts are the same and nothing has changed.
Love iMessage on my iPhone. Would also like to be able to write a message on my Mac to send out to others. I do not use FaceTime, nor do I want to in order to send messages. What do I need to do?
Yesterday my iPhone abruptly shut off. I thought it was dead but when I plugged it in it said it had battery. Now it will only turn on when I have it plugged into the wall and if I unplug it it'll immediately shut down. Also when it turns on it won't connect to Wifi and cellular service just says "Searching..." so its essentially useless. I'm wondering if theres a way to get my messages on iMessage on my Mac if I don't have it connected to my number yet and I can't access my phone to connect them.
My problem is related to the iMessage app on my iPhone 5 and MBP Retina. I have not been able to find a suitable answer to this problem in the Apple discussions, however there are discussions relating to syncing of messages, or the lack thereof, but that's not my problem. My problem has to do with deleting messages from one device and then those message being deleted on the other device.
Both devices, iPhone 5 and 15" MBP Retina are up to date (iOS 8.1.1 and OS X Yosemite 10.10.1).
I can send and receive iMessage and SMS texts from both my iPhone as well as the Mac. The synchronization works beautifully!
My problem is this. When I delete a conversation from the message app on the MBP it DOES NOT get deleted on the iPhone iMessage app. Likewise a conversation that is deleted from the iPhone DOES NOT get deleted from the MBP message app. I have tested this by sending a message to myself, which showed up on both devices. I could converse all day long with myself (bad habit!) from both the iPhone and MBP, but when the message was deleted from one device it did not get deleted from the other device. Very annoying!
As an additional issue, under Settings>Messages>Text Message Forwarding my MBP appears twice and only one can be turned on at a time. How can I delete the other device? I can't find where that is set up.

Earlier today I received 2 iMessages from another iPhone 4 user, I only realised this now, when I checked my iPhone. He sent them to my mobile number not my email address. They never showed up on my Mac, (messages beta), are only iMessages sent to email addresses received on mac?
I'm running Yosemite on Mac and iOS 8.1.1 on iPad and iPhone. When i setup Messages on my Mac a couple of months ago all conversations were synced up between all 3 devices. i've continued many of those conversations on my iPad and iPhone but when I opened Messages on my Mac today i noticed that they had stopped syncing about 2 weeks ago. Now when i try to send a message from my Mac it sends it as SMS not as iMessage. how to correct both the SMS issue but more importantly the sync?
Just downloaded it right now and it's excellent! However, I notice a possible flaw in which whenever I receive a message from someone, it will notify me on both my Mac AND my iPhone! As you might imagine, it's pretty annoying given iMessages are flying through on my Mac. I was wondering if anyone knows how to stop iPhone notifications when messaging on Mac. I hope this feature will be added in ASAP from Apple if it doesn't exist yet!
I Am getting increasingly frustrated that iMessage is working on my iPhone but not on iPad or MacBook Pro. I have tried settings system preferences, taking jabber off etc but still no joy.
My iPhone 5c is receiving the same messages that I've already read on my Macbook Pro and I would like to stop connecting my phone number to the computer. Is there a way to fix this? I am using IOS 1.7.2 if this problem has anything to do with my phone and that has any relevance.
Edit: I would not like to turn iMessage off on my phone, as I use it because a lot of the area I live in does not have service while we have wifi.
I haven't been able to send or receive iMessages on my Macbook Pro or my iPad. They do not receive any incoming messages or have the ability to send out any messages. Every time I try to send a message to a phone number REGISTERED WITH IMESSAGE, this error message pops up. Even though iMessage refuses to work on both my iPad and my Macbook, it has been working flawlessly on my iPhone. Every number that I try (and fail) to send an iMessage to on both my iPad and my Macbook, I have been successfully able to send a message to on my iPhone with no problem.
This is what gets me: I have signed in to my Mac and my iPad with several other Apple IDs and iMessage works FINE when there is another Apple ID involved. There is no problem when someone else signs in using their Apple ID. So far, the only thing that has been affected is iMessage. All other aspects of iCloud work great. FaceTime hasn't stopped working once, for example.
I have had two separate cases with Apple Support about this issue. I have brought all my machines to the apple store TWICE, and they still couldn't figure out what was wrong.

ALL my iMessage friends phone numbers are now in red on my computer. They were previously working fine and communications were in blue but now their contact information at the top left of the message pane is in red. All of them.
I have imported a TV show from a disk with 4 episodes on it. I've done this before with the same disk and it worked fine but now when I try to play it is comes up with a warning "the disk copy protection could not be verified. The disk cannot be played . [-70025]" is there any way around this?
I have a MacBook Pro that I had four multi-user accounts on. One of them got corrupted, so that one was deleted and another account was opened. I want to get all the old iTunes songs out of the corrupted user folder and put them in the new account iTunes folder.Do I just drag the whole old iTunes folder into the Music folder of new user?letting it overwrite the existing iTunes folder? If I overwrite the new iTunes folder with the old iTunes folder, will it delete whatever I downloaded in the new iTunes since, or meld the old and new together? How do I keep from deleting newer songs and still keep the iTunes library or directories, or whatever, intact?

my son recently gave me his old macbook i have tried to download my pictures from my iphone to the new macbook and it will not download. Do I need to register the computer to me before it will recognize my phone?
I keep getting an error message when I attempt to authorize my Macbook with my iPhone. Ive tried a few suggestions from some online forums but no luck.
I am so confused by the fact that I am getting Safari updates on my PC computer but only have it on my iphone. Does this mean if I don't load it on my computer, my iphone Safari will be outdated or worse?
I need to switch the computer I use for synching my iphone, iPad and iPod to another computer. Is there an automated procedure? If not is there a prescribed procedure for doing this manually?
I just got a new MacBook because my last computer was getting old but it won't let me add music from my new computer to my iPhone and I was wondering how to change that.
This would be more for the technical side of the house, but why would the system try to update my iPhone and its not connected to the computer? is there a bug in the system?
I can import music from my iTunes on my own computer, but if I want to import some music from a friend's computer, the iPhone 4s doesnt do anything. Why is that? And is there a way to actually get msuic from a computer thats not your primary library?
I am using my computer as a router to get wifi on my iPhone, it sees the network but still can’t get connected, the mac docent send IP address or subnet mask numbers ..etc to the phone, although the same phone is able to get connected to other macs/routers fine, what can i do to my mac?
My girlfriend had her iPhone 5 sent in to repair the sleep/wake button and have the battery replaced, and before we left I made a full back up to her MacBook Pro. A few days later the MacBook won't boot up and only displays a blank grey screen. I took the MacBook into the Apple store since this is the only way to restore her photos and music and the Genius diagnosed it as a Logic Board failure and as it is out of warranty, would be quite expensive to fix. If I mounted the hard drive to an external enclosure, is it possible to pull the backup files and restore her phone with a laptop running windows?
My land line is dead ... so no phone nor internet at home. But I can use my iPhone'hot spot to get on the web from my iMac. Great ... it works ! I cannot send email from my computer using my iPhone's hot spot with Mail. How do I do that ?

It's not fair that there are wonderfull apps for the ipad and iphone but not the computer - if I had of known, I would have went with an ipad at the time of purchase.
Plugged it into my MacBook, updated the iTunes software. But I can't transfer any of the music without syncing! I tried to drag files to the iPhone but it doesn't let me.
Photo stream on my iPhone does not have all pictures in Photo stream on my computer. How do I get the missing pictures to show up on my iPhone? I followed the instructions to plug my iPhone into my computer. The instructions then indicate to select photos under devices to sync them but photos doesn't how up under devices.
