So I just bought my new macbook pro and I have already transferred all my music from my iphone onto the computer itself. However, throughout the day I have been dowloading music from the internet using a youtube converter site. They dowloaded onto the computer and are in my library. However, I have been trying all day to now transfer those new songs onto my iphone. Everytime I try to drag it onto the iphone it just doesnt do anything.

I reset my MacBook Air yesterday and have plugged my iPhone 5 into the USB port. It did not show up in devices and I am unable to sync it. Itunes used to work fine, but now crashes every time I plug my iphone in. It gets partway through the sync, then quits with no error message. If I stop the syncing, itunes is fine. If I then select my iphone in the left hand column, iTunes crashes. My iphone is set to wirelessly sync. Am I supposed to affect any change if itunes won't allow me to change any syncing settings. Really, if it is wireless, it needs to be configured from the phone, not itunes...

Have iTunes 9 running Windows 7 on a desktop, trying to transfer to 10.6.2 Snow Leopard on a MacBook Pro.
I've tried consolidating the library, then transferring my music files using an external HD. But still no luck with the ratings/playcount.
Is there a way to use my iPhone 3G to transfer the files?
In the end I do what my MacBook as my main computer, so I will want to be able to sync with my iPhone after all my files are transferred.
I have a mac air version 10.9.3 running on mavericks and whenever I plug in my apple earphones, or any earphones with a mic and remote on the cable, itunes starts playing music without me touching anything. It plays music every time the contact plug of the earphones moves in the computer (like if I move the computer and the jack plug gets jiggled) and I don't know how to keep it from doing that. I tried quitting itunes but it didn't work.

I have been trying to download my mini-discs to my MacBookPro.
I have had little success with Garage Band as I cannot really get the hang of such a complex program.
I have had some success using "Audacity". I do manage to get the minidiscs onto the computer. But that is where the problems start.
I obviously want the music in iTunes, but cannot manage to do this. I can get the downloads into any progam except iTunes which just refuses to accept them. I can store them in Music but this is not very satisfactory as it is longwinded to retrieve them and they cannot be downloaded to CDs. The files are in aiff format Which takes up over a gigabyte of space for a 1 hour minidisc. These can be converted to mpeg in iTunes but not in any other program.
I have previously been able to download aiff format music but now find I cannot get them into iTunes.
I've noticed this since iTunes 10.6 where the album art on my music, iTunes purchased or imported, doesn't get transferred over to my iPhone 4S (5.0.1) nor my iPhone 4 (5.1) with "Convert higher bitrate songs to XXX kbps AAC" checked in iTunes.Â
I've tried transferring with Lion and Windows 7 under Bootcamp (both OS are using the latest iTunes 10.6.1) and both are doing the same thing.Â
Is this a bug that Apple is missing (anywhere to send bug reports)?

I'm experiencing a very specific problem with my itunes, everytime I want to sync my itunes library with my ipod (2nd generation - 20GB), gives me an error saying something like I can not upload all the music because I have not enough free space on my ipod which is true, but I would like to transfer only the checked musics and itunes is not making any distinction between checked and non checked musics.

Have now purchased new laptop but had problems transferring ITunes library from old computer to new so just recreated Library from scratch on new laptop by copying my CD's but did not have all CD's as some were borrowed. In other words, I now have songs on my IPOD (and on old desktop) that I was not able to reload onto the Laptop.
I want to make sure that when I plug my IPod (which now has all the songs on it from my desktop) into the laptop, I don't lose those that are not in my Laptop library. I recently had to create a new account (admin) because of problems with the old one. I've now been using the new account with no problems for a few weeks, and am ready to ditch the old one completely. I've got everything organised except my iTunes content. iTunes on the new account behaves as if there's nothing there, so I can see I've got some work left to do.
I authorised iTunes on the new account for both the iTunes store (was told it already was authorised) and for my [URL] account. I changed permissions to read and write for everyone on iTunes in the old account, but that didn't help anything.
Is there a simple way to do this? Once this is transferred I want to delete the old account completely, so setting content up to share isn't the best solution for me.
I recently bought an SSD for my laptop and did a clean install. I downloaded iTunes and imported several CDs into it. I then manually copied over some CDs on the old disk's iTunes folder into the current disk's iTunes folder. However, the new songs don't appear when I bring up iTunes. How do I get this to work?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a Retina iMac running OS 10.10.1.  My previous computer is a Mac Pro (2006) with 10.7.5 (latest OS it will support). The Mac Pro has iTunes 12.0.1 with the database files on the system hard drive and the media files on a secondary internal hard drive. getting my iTunes library on to the new iMac.Â
Migration Assistant doesn't work.
Open Migration Assistant on the iMac and it finds the Mac Pro and offers a code which should be verified on the Mac Pro. Open Migration Assistant on the Mac Pro and tell it to "Transfer to another Mac" and get the spinning gear. Left it on all night, they never connected.Â
Consolidating my iTunes library back to the Mac Pro system hard drive doesn't work.
Following the directions from Apple Support, I pointed my current copy of iTunes (on the Mac Pro) to the default Music folder in order to consolidate the library all in to one folder so that I could transfer it at once to the iMac (iTunes > File > Library > Organize Library). After about 20 minutes I got an error message: "Copying files failed. An unknown error occurred (-22)". I assume there is one or more files screwing this up, but can't figure out which one(s).Â
Simply copying the entire iTunes media folder over my network from the Mac Pro to the iMac doesn't work.
Error (-50) and the copying fails before it gets more than 50 mb. I'm currently attempting to copy one folder at a time. But I don't assume that I'll be able to rebuild my old library on the new machine this way.Â
The current iTunes library is about 250 GB. It is slow, but works on the old machine.Â

I had been sync'd with an old PC laptop previously. If I choose to sync my iPhone (4S) with iTunes on the MacBook, will it delete my apps and data (as the warning in iTunes leads me to believe)? I do use iCloud backup on the iPhone, and I've got all kinds of apps installed (and arranged to my liking). What's the best way to have my music sync with the MacBook without having to reinstall my apps?Â
