I am so confused by the fact that I am getting Safari updates on my PC computer but only have it on my iphone. Does this mean if I don't load it on my computer, my iphone Safari will be outdated or worse?

When I check for software updates only itunes and random other updates show up but not security updates or safari update. When i check installed updates I realized my last security update was 2011-004 and I still have safari 5.0.6.

I'm trying to update my computer and do the software updates. I ran the Mac OX S update, but it starts and it never finishes. Can anybody help me out with that? I have to update certain stuff, but it won't finish.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have had problems with 2 different Macbooks this last 2 weeks. 1 Macbook 2,4Ghz latest release and 1 Macbook pro that I cant remember specs on (the aluminum one without any black around display) etc. They say that they did some updates and restarted computer. When the mac starts up it comes all the way to login screen but when I click the user to login with there is only a blue screen with mouse arrow displayed.
I have tried a couple of things:
Hold shift on boot
Hold apple+p+r on boot
Boot on install disk and repaired diskpermissions
Other (brand new) RAM in both slots
Diskwarrior
Put disk in another macbook (exact same version)
Nothing of the above helped so I installed a new disk in the macbook install fresh OS and used the guide to clone everything from the original disk in a firewire case. When I did this it worked for a while but after a couple of restarts it was back at the bluescreen again. So to fix this I finally did a new OS install and copied files by hand. desktop, documents, movies and that kind of stuff. Not any library files, preferences and stuff. So now it works but since I got another with the same problem today. Anyone heard of bad firmware or updates released last couple of weeks or have any other ideas? No external devices attached.
How do i reset my password to allow updates to my computer? In order to complete the update, I have to put in my password, but every password i tired isn't working so now I can't update it.What should I do?

I am new to this forum and was wondering if anyone would be able to offer me some help, my itunes will open but immediatley shut down, my safari offers up a message to the effect that I do not have any internet connection and my updates will not work saying as well that there is no internet connection.
I think I have messed up me computer when I was messing around with the settings to try and watch ABC TV to try and watch season 4 of lost online, but me being in the UK I needed to change some settings which would have enabled me to watch this. However I have messed up my computer and not even been able to watch the program online.

Safari will not allow me to enter websites with 1 passwords. When I input the password it reverts back to enter you password. I have updated to all of the newest versions and Safari is still not working. I am having no issues with Firefox.

I installed the software updates pushed to me the week of May 7, 2012 (installed them May 12th) and now cannot open certain web pages (examples www.cnn.com and www.ancestry.com) but am able to open others (ex. www.harrynorman.com). I installed an update to safari, one for security and another I cannot recall. Rebooted (twice) and still having the same problem. I have a Macbook running Mac OS X 10.6.8 and Safari 5.1.7.

After loading recent updates when I try to access my Adwords account the browser constantly loads then crashes with a message Apples been advised. Ive updated safari to 8.01 this morning, and now when using safari, after a few minutes the multi gesture functions on my trackpad stop working. I can scroll down pages, flick across windows etc. even the accuracy of the cursor is limited (in editing this i tried to highlight some text to delete, but i had move about 10characters the left to get the ones i wanted).

Well every time I do a software update it wants to install "Pro Applications Update" and "Prokit Updates" Which are updates for final cut pro and its related apps.
Any idea how I can stop it from wanting me to install these updates for something I no longer have?

My girlfriend had her iPhone 5 sent in to repair the sleep/wake button and have the battery replaced, and before we left I made a full back up to her MacBook Pro. A few days later the MacBook won't boot up and only displays a blank grey screen. I took the MacBook into the Apple store since this is the only way to restore her photos and music and the Genius diagnosed it as a Logic Board failure and as it is out of warranty, would be quite expensive to fix. If I mounted the hard drive to an external enclosure, is it possible to pull the backup files and restore her phone with a laptop running windows?
