Mac Mini :: Can Not Access AHT For Original G4?

I was wondering whether any of the Apple Hardware Test images disposable from Apple would actually work with any other products not listed (Like the Power Mac G4, in this case), or whether there, by any chance, is a copy of my included install disk elsewhere?This is regarding my 1.42 Hz G4 Mini, see this for details.The disc contains AHT version 1.0 and its ID is 2Z691-5455-A, however, the backside of the DVD looks like it was lost outside the window, picked up by a wind carrying it to the nearest sea with sharks (some thousands of miles), played with by a shark with very sharp teeth, broken into thousand pieces, run through the animals several phases of gastric secretion, collected into a small chunk of plastic fragments, glued together to make it look like the original DVD once shipped with the computer back in '05.

I am new to this forum. I am writting on behalf of my neighbor who has forgotten her original keychain access password.
Because of that, we cant get into keychain to retrieve passwords.
I have been looking online for a way to solve this problem.
The only solution I am coming up with is to delete the keychain folder and reinstall it.
I know only enough about computers to get into trouble.
She has a 10.4.7
Any clues? Ive already messed her computer up a bit by deleting a few things I shouldnt have.

I have one of the first Mac mini's. I upgraded the memory to 80 GB's, the processor is a 1.42 GHz PowerPC G4. I'm getting a new Mac Mini that will work in the iCloud. The software is version 10.5.8, the newest the processor can support. It works well, albeit a little slow at times. I want to give the old mini to my 12 year old grandson, and would like to upgrade the keyboard and mouse to the mac magic mouse and wireless keyboard.Â

Are there any downfalls if I install one 2GB RAM (Crucial) with the one that came with the Mac Mini (early 2009)?
Because I heard that if I use 4GB, I only get like 3.3GB.
So instead of spending $70 for 2/2GB, I should just get a single 2GB and install it with the regular one that the Mini came with.
Any problems with doing this?

I got my Mac Mini from my moms friend (for free) so I don't have the disks that came with the computer, but I do have the Snow Leopard upgrade disk and the disks that came with the new MacBook Pro's if that helps. How would I go about doing a clean install on my Mac Mini?

Time Machine was making a backup to my NAS (a Lacie Network Space 2), when I suddenly got a power failure in my apartment. After that I can't access the share anymore. I can connect to the share but when I click on the share TM was copying to (named "Open Share"), I get the error message: "The operation can�t be completed because the original item for �OpenShare� can�t be found" I can access the other shares and if I use an ftp-application I can access all shares normal.

I've looked at some other posts that have gone over how to move files to an external drive, and they all say to use command while moving. I understand this copies the file and deletes the original, but when you make a copy and delete the original, you lose some of the original data, such as creation date, etc... This makes storage and organization more complicated than it has to be.

I am wanting to remotely access my mbp using my mini pc laptop running windows xp. How can I do this? Would back to my mac work or not as I would be using a pc to access the mac? Are there any other free ways of doing this. It would be great to be able to travel around with the little pc which I don't mind getting scratched etc and leave the nice shiny mbp at home

I canceled my cable. My wife and I use iTunes subscriptions and netflix to watch tv and the free ota channels. I have a appletv and I plan on selling it and buying a new Mac mini to hook up to my plasma for the upcoming NFL season. I was planning on using the NFL game access option and getting video and audio.

hey all, i've got a laptop here that has an external drive that connects to it via an e-sata port(which can work as a USB 2.0 too). the mac mini doesn't have an e-sata port so i was wondering if i could connect to the laptop via bluetooth and install windows that way?

I read through kernel.log among other areas in Utilties:Console as I suspected someone had been on my laptop without permission. I am trying to figure out what they did. Can someone help? Here is what was I saw from the time I was away. Also,can someone tell me specifically what this means and what had to happen to log it?Â

I want to setup a home network around a Mac Mini Server. I want to access this server via a 27" Apple Thunderbolt Display w. mouse+keyboard combo.I also want to be able to connect my macbook to this Display however (using thunderbolt).I would like to be able to connect this MBP (thinking about the new 15" rMBP) such that it will retrieve my data (mainly photos) from the central server vault (on the Mac Mini server) and in the same time output the video to the Display.
Motivation: I have a huge photo database which I want to store on the storage disk(s) attached to the server (for now the MM's internal disks) and not on the MacBook .... I more or less only use the (powerfull) MBP as the workstation and want to have the possibility to have the output also displayed on a large display (the 27" ATD).Maybe it is a stupid & trivial question I am asking here but I am a bit confused about the possibilities of connecting devices via Thunderbolt.

New to the forum and already I need some help. Here's my tale of woe-I purchased a mac mini on eBay and it came with no disks and I don't have the user name or password and apparently now can't get them from the seller. I did a google search and have tried getting into the single user mode (Command + s) and I end up on a page with a black background that runs through prompts and ends with a message that says 'initalization complete.' I have tried typing in the commands suggested in my google search (sh/etc/rc) and it comes back with a 'file unknown' prompt.

My goal is to by a mac mini that will run 24/7 it will be connected to about 5TB's of storage that will have all my personal data on it. My goal is to create an FTP server that will host all these files that I can access remotely and let friends and family access it. I pretty much have it all sorted out I just wanted to check with some people on here. To run it I will be using a program called PureFTPd to manage the server and I can create accounts and manage them all through this application. Does anyone have a better way for me to do this or an alternate application that is better, And also I have connected to my mac book pro remotely using the built in FTP feature and PureFTP so yer, Does anyone else have a better idea for me running a server?

I changed permissions for HD to no access for everyone, the Mini hang up, I had to force shutdown, ever since it is stuck on the apple and rotating bars, MacMini with OS X 10.7.2! I booted in asfe mode still stuck, repair permissions using the backup hd "10.7.2 after pressing shift key" did no fix!

On my mac(10.9.4) System Preference -> security & privacy, no app allowed to access my calendar.
On iPad(7.1.2) Settings -> security & privacy, only Penultimate, Skitch and Evernote are allowed to access my calendar.Â
It is weird that Gmail can notify me any event I put on my calendar.
How can I block it?

All of a sudden, holding down the Command key for more than a second or two (e.g., in preparation for using Command+W) brings up a Universal Access dialogue screen which fills the monitor. I have not used Universal Access, I checked the settings, and I see nothing seems to be "On".Â

I switched from a Mac Mini to a Retina Display Macbook Pro. When I hooked up the external drive I've been using for Time Machine to the MBP, I went through the setup for Time Machine and it created a backup of the MBP. That is the only backup now showing when I enter Time Machine. How do I access the previous backups from the Mac Mini through Time Machine? If I open the external hard drive from the finder, I can see the backups on the drive.

I just got an iMac running 10.6.1 And I still have a Mac Mini running 10.4.11, which allows me to access several apps running under Classic. I'd like to still access them on the glossy new monitor, with the wireless Magic Mouse. Since the iMac has no monitor input port, how do I hook up a KVM switch? Which brand do you recommend?
