Apr 4, 2012I bought a Mini just a couple weeks ago and a LaCie 2big Thunderbolt drive. It's been working flawlessly, but today it doesn't recognize the drive and doesn't recognize even having Thunderbolt support and I can find nothing on Lacie's site or Apple's regarding this issue.

Jun 15, 2012I have a Macbook Air 11in base specs, and an upgraded Alienware M18x. I do alot of traveling and sailing hence the use of the MBA. Now I'm planning on selling my Alienware since I use that as my desktop. The options I have are the Upgraded 27in Imac, or a Thunderbolt Display with the 2.5ghz mac mini. The only reason I'm leaning towards the latter is so I can use it as a Monitor for my MBA.

Feb 27, 2012I bought my Macbook Pro last september along with my Thunderbolt monitor.Everything was working until today (yes today was my first time bringing my Macbook Pro elsewhere) and when I moved it, the display shut off.then I realized that when I just move the Thunderbolt plug around it would turn on and off the display depending which side I would hold. would it be a problem with the Monitor cable? or a problem with the Macbook Pro itself? both are still under warranty, so I'm not worried, but it saves me the trouble of lugging either (especially the monitor) back to the Apple store.

Jun 12, 2012I recently purchased a Macbook Pro and a Thunderbolt display. It appears when I plug my Macbook Pro in with the power adapter directly to an outlet, it charges fine. However, if I use the charger on my Thunderbolt display cable, the status reads "Not Charging"... sometimes. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it appears to toggle between charging and not charging. Is this a known issue with Macbook and Thunderbolt? I assume it should always be charging if it's plugged in and the battery is low.

Jul 6, 2012I've just received my new MacBook Pro with Retina display last week and I'm very happy with it. But there's one issue... my Thunderbolt cables keep failing!
I bought a Seagate GoFlex for Mac drive with the GoFlex Thunderbolt Adapter and an Apple Thunderbolt cable. The first cable failed after about an hour of operation (intensive copying of data onto the drive). I took everything to an Apple Store and they determined that the Thunderbolt cable was the culprit. They gave me a new one and I went home.
... just to have the same thing happen again the next day. This time the cable held up a little longer, maybe five hours until - again - the drive failed to be recognized and the new cable went bad as well!
I just came home from the store and this time, they swapped everything: drive, TB adapter and TB cable. I hope it won't happen again...

Jun 24, 2012I have a kanex thunderbolt to HDMI cable that I use to connect to my TV. I recently updated my Mac OS X to 10.7.4. I am not sure if that is the reason, but I can no longer seem to connect. It is being detected by my TV, but the screen isn't showing up.
When I connect, the laptop screen goes blue and then returns to normal and the TV goes from no input signal to a black screen, but that's it. I have tried restarting, shutting down and resetting the PRAM/NVRAM. I called Apple support and they have set me up with an appointment at an Apple Store later this week.

Feb 20, 2012How do I connect a newer 2011 27" iMac to a flat panel via a Thunderbolt to HDMI cable? I've already tried this with two different brands of flat panels (RCA and Samsung) and both get no signal. The iMac does recognize the model of flat panel connected to it, the flat panels do not recognize the iMac, nothing but a blue or black screen. Already tried powering down and resetting both the iMac and flatpanels, resetting the memory on the iMac, trying all the HDMI ports on both flatpanels. Nothing works.

Aug 28, 2010I gave my HDTV away to a friend in need so for now, I'd like to use my new iMac as a pseudo-TV. The mini DisplayPort on the 27 inchers allows for both audio and video to flow both IN and out of the iMac, so what do I need in order to get this working? What kind of software will I need to use?
I'm connecting the cable box through its HDMI port and on the other end I have attached the (quite pricey) HDMI-to-miniDP adapter. Do I still need some kind of tuner? My cable box is brand new and also has FireWire, USB, and Ethernet ports.

Apr 23, 2012When it did show the screen saver the mouse arrow was on the tv and not on the computer and there were no icons to be found on the tv to click on. Right clicking would only bring up the screen for setting the background pictures.

Dec 14, 2010The screen on my macboook pro, 13inch, was messing up earlier, flickering and all.
I got trigger happy and decided to take the glass bezel off my MBP (I've done it before) and managed to disconnect the LCD screen from the rest of the MBP.
However now I can't accurately connect the LCD screen back to the cable it's connected to at the base of where the lcd screen would go.
I'm checking out the videos on PowerBook Medic for the macbook Pro and am seeing how they take off all these things such as the SuperDrive, fans, logic board, etc....but rather than taking off every single item am wondering which of these to take out in order to be able to pull out that cable ever so slightly, simply so I'll then be able to connect it to the LCD screen..
I'll keep researching online and also hope for any guidance tonight, seei as id really like to get this issue resolved before the night ends...not forcing me to leave a tangled MBP on my desk overnight.

Jul 3, 2012I bought 2 new Macbook Pro 13' , 2.9 Ghz Intel Core i7, with 8 Go 1600Mhz DDR3, Intel HD Graphics 4000 512 MB, Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 (11E2617).
I have connected a Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter in order to show presentations on different LCD projectors but no image appear.
The external monitor is detected but no image is shown. I have tried to change the frequencies: parts of the screen appears but no a correct image. I have the same symptoms with the 2 Macbook Pro. Using old Macbook Pro with the same Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter, the slides are showns normally.
I make a test with a Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter and with a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter and everythings works correctly with both adapters.
