ITunes :: Why Is (10.6.1) Requesting Password At Startup
Jun 24, 2012iTunes has suddenly begun asking for my password at startup of my Mac (running OS 10.6.8). And if my iPad2 is in its dock, the password is requested a second time. I have refrained from entering the password because I suspected a possible security breach. iTunes never behaved this way until a couple of days ago. Today when I tried to install the latest iTunes update (10.6.3), the process stopped after about 98% of the download and reported an error. I have tried Software Update three more times, with the same result. Anyone know what is going on with the password requests, or with the persistent update error?

Apr 4, 2012I have a mac.com account and I've just started having problems logging in and checking my in-box. The issue arose yesterday afternoon (3/4/12) and I'm currently unable to receive email from my mac.com account on my macbook, iPhone or through iCloud. This is what happens when I try to access my account on each device or application: When I try to access my email though the mail client on my macbook this message appears. "The iCloud IMAP server “p02-imap.mail.me.com” rejected the password for user “helenlryan1” Enter your password again or cancel. I enter my password and it is rejected. This has never happened before and now my account is 'offline" My account details are the same and I've not changed them. I migrated my MobileMe account over to iCould on 30 March and upgraded to Lion on 31 March.. When I open my mail account in iCloud a message appears telling me: 'There was a problem loading the application due to possible network error or missing resources. Please try again" I currently have no access to my email.

Jun 8, 2012When a video track begins, the iTunes window comes up, even if I've got iTunes hidden. (Note: it doesn't bring the iTunes application to the foreground; it just shows the iTunes window behind my current window.)
Clearly, this is not the behavior I want when it's _hidden_! ...But I can't find any way to stop this behavior
P.S. This is iTunes version 10.6.1(7) on OS 10.7.4. Also, I'm running SizzlingKeys 3.3.5, if that matters (there doesn't seem to be a preference in this app to control window behavior...).

I get an error message that says unable to access, then the site address, then No associated application could be found. when you sent a reply, I was unable to get the answer I am using Safari as my browser, this is a recent problem, a few days, the only thing that I have changed was to delete real player.

Sep 6, 2009I'm having problems screen sharing between an iMac running Snow Leopard and a G4 iBook running Tiger. I have been trying to remotely screen share the iMac from the iBook. I enabled screen sharing on the iMac, and set a password for VNC. Then I tried two different clients on the iBook - Chicken of the VNC, and JollysFastVNC. Both exhibit the same symptoms: they claim the password for vnc access is incorrect, but I KNOW the password is correct, and I have tried several different ones.

OS X :: Unable To Access Network Window / Network Settings Changed By Another Application
Dec 11, 2009My neighbor has an IMac with OS 10.4.11 installed. When I open System Preferences and select the Network icon, the Network window comes up but it is overlayed with a message that states: "Your network settings have been changed by another application." When I click OK, this same overlaid window comes back.
The only way I can get out of System Preferences at this point is to do a Force Quit. In other words, because this overlaid window appears, I am unable to access the Network window to look at TCP/IP settings, make changes, etc.
Next I went into System/Library/Preference Panes/Network.prefPane(more info) to look at the application that appeared in the "Open with" field. It stated "System Preference." I replaced this with a new "System Preferences from the Applications Folder, but the same thing happened - even after I rebooted the computer.
Please let me know how to solve this problem so I can access the Network System Preferences properly.

I have gone into my accounts numerous times in System preferences. My username/password combo is recognized there. I have also changed my password on Yahoo and in my accounts. But I still receive the above message.

Recently I have been getting a window that pops up saying "bluetooth not available" - and this is after I have been using my mouse successfully for a while (hour, 4 hours, 3 days). The bluetooth icon in the top right of the menu bar has a jagged "lightning bolt" looking thing through it. Is this a problem with my mouse, my computer, or just me being dumb.
