May 7, 2010I have 'Illuminate Keyboard in Low Light Conditions' Checked in system preferences and the keyboard is still lit up when the room is fully lit? Wouldn't only light up when the room is dark? I'm pressing keys and its always lighting up? its probably not even an issue and I'm over thinking it?

Dec 11, 2008I've been looking for a nice way to synchronize MySQL databases in a quick and easy way on the Mac, but so far I haven't found any good options.
Since I'm doing my development locally on both my iMac and my MacBook I'd like to be able to sync the site I'm working on with a click of a button.
There are very nice file syncing tools available (I'm currently using Synk Standard), but as far as MySQL syncing (two-way) goes the only one I've found is Navicat.
While Navicat works great they have for some reason not made it possible to access from the command line in the mac version, which means that I can't run the db sync automatically when I run the file sync.
I've tried UI scripting but it just won't work reliably (it clicks in the wrong places all of the time).
So do you know about any good MySQL syncing tools, that sync in both directions and are scriptable?

Jun 16, 2010I just got a 13" macbook pro. Last year, my college dorm had wifi throughout so I never had a problem with wifi. My dorm for this coming fall will only have hardwired ethernet ports in the rooms. I have never set up a wireless network before, so my question for you guys is what do I need to purchase to do this in my room? Just a basic wireless router? Please tell me the parts I need as well as some brief instruction on how to do it. I am decent with tech stuff so just a basic overview of what I need to do would be fine for now. Also, in case it matters, our internet at school is awful whether using wired ports or wifi, so I dont know if that matters for the hardware that I will need to buy.
