View 7 Replies View RelatedI have had this issue with my address book for a while in that it creates new entries with just an email address as the actual entry and then hundreds of other email addresses from address book as this entry's additional email addresses.Â
At the same time I had an issue with Apple Mail that I thought was unrelated but now I am not that sure anymore. When I turn Apple Mail on, it sends out emails that look like an endless chain of responses (spam) to the same email that advertises all kinds of stuff.Â
When I first noticed the issue I turned Mail off (a year ago). After updating to Lion I tried to use mail again but had the same issue and have not been using it since. But I appear to still find new entries in my address book all the time.Â
I ran some software (ClamX) but wasn't able to find any malware so far. I can't imagine someone hacking into my machine and doing all this my hand. For what?Â
So I am wondering whether anyone has had similar symptoms on their Mac?

I have tried to sinchronize the Contacts in my iMac, but it doesn´t work. I have linked my iMac to iCloud. When I go to iCloud directly through Internet, I can see the "Contacts" I haver in iCloud. I have 6,624 contacts. The list of contactas can be seen in both iCliud and on my Mac. But when I add new contacts in my iMac (today I added 4), it doesn´t synchronize. The new contacts do not appear in the Cloud. How can I establish a good link so synchronization can effectively take place?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWas hoping I could get a tip with a problem I'm having. I just set up an aiport extreme and connected an NAS to it (which is running linux). I am able to access the NAS off of my laptop BUT apparently I need the IP adress of the actual device to fully access software on it. I know the adress of my router by using the airport utility, but could anybody advise me as to how I could get the IP adress of my Nas? I'm running OS X 10.6 incidentally.

Is this possible? I've created some contacts in Adress Book on my Mac (yes, under the "iCLoud" header), and they don't show on the iCloud website. If it's a one-way path from iCloud to Adress Book, then I guess that for anyone using iCloud for contacts, it renders Adress Book useless, doesn't it?Â
Btw, somehow the newly created contacts just vanished, so unless you good people provide me with a solution, I just won't use Adress Book again, because that was at least 30 minutes of my life straight to the trash bin.

I'm tediously working through my address book and getting rid of duplicates and merging. One of the weird things is that there is now a # category at the end of the alphabet. Why are certain contacts listed there and not alphabetized? How do I get them up to the alphabetized part? I can't tell which device they came from.Â

I was hoping to export an archive of Address Book which is running on my 10.6 server so that I could import it to iCloud's address book.Â
How can I do this? I can't see any functionality to import in iClouds's Address Book.Â
Do I have to have all of these server contacts "On My Mac" before iCloud will play ball?Â
