May 31, 2012While trying to Securely empty trash, I get an error code -8003. The trash bin now has about 2 million files to empty. The large number of files are due to transferring numerous time machine back ups files to be deleted after a partial LaCie hard drive failure.

I have recently moved from a PC laptop and have been sent email messages to this account on my iMac successfully for several weeks. The email address in question is actively sending and receiving messages. I can receive email from that account.

Nov 21, 2010Using a G4 IBOOK with OS 10.5.8. Recently converted IBOOK from just my wifes computer to both of us so it is now dual usuage with both of us signing in to our respective files/e-mail, etc. My side has a problem never experienced before. My apple mail system address book has all the names the dock address book does but is missing almost 2/3rd of the actual e-mail addressess. I have tried to redo the dock address book in hopes it would change the "internal" mail book, but to no avail. It id difficult to add a recipient to an outgoing e-mail via the dock address instead of the apple mail address book.

Mar 18, 2012I'm changing my primary e-mail from hotmail to aim after it recently got hacked, when I try to configure my aim in Mail it says "Mail cannot send your password securely to the server." and then it gives me the choice to continue without the password being secure which would put it at risk, or setup manually. After I set it up manually and enable Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) it gives me the same message as before but this time when i choose setup manually and enable SSL again, it works. How do I know if my password is secure??

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Add An Address From The Address List In MAIL?
Jun 11, 2012This is probably a stupid question, but why isn't there an address contact button that you can click on in a new message from MAIL? Am I missing something here? In all previous versions of the OS one could just do that and a list of contacts popped up and then you could click on one and it would go to the "To" slot. There's got to be an easier way than to open the contact book, find an address, copy it, then place it in the message "To" slot.

May 4, 2012I can't get into *certain* secure sites. I first noticed the problem a few weeks ago when I couldn't check out at Amazon, the log-in page would not come up. Neither would any page on Amazon that is secure, i.e., requiring the entry of my password. The problem has grown. Most recently I couldn't get into Bank Of America, now I can't get into gmail. The real kick is I couldn't get in HERE!! (But I *can* get into my bank account, I *can* get into Chase and I *can* get into Citi, no problems.) The problem is occurring on both Safari and Firefox, so it's apparently not a browser issue. My ISP is Hughesnet, the satellite ISP. Now, how did I get in here and why do I suspect Hughes? Because I have a back-up dial-up ISP, Juno, and I got in here using Juno and have gotten into all of the other sites I just mentioned using Juno. Only thing is, Juno takes eons. I mean EONS. As I said, I suspect Hughes. But, I thought I'd come here and seek help from you guys, I've received excellent and much appreciated help here in the past. I'm hoping that I'm wrong, that it's not a Hughes problem, and that someone here can suggest a way I can correct w/e is wrong with my settings (if, in fact, it is my settings).Â
