I have been reading about the adobe malware virus, and my computer actually found one and took care of it. But I was wondering if there is a way that I could scan for it myself.

There was a new treat for malware out there called alurdon dns changer and supposily cause internet blackout on Monday. Any one aware of this is it a PC treat, should I be concerned? How do I scan my computer for any malware that I could have and not be aware of?

I have toruble viewing Youtube videos and some other videos on the web. I uninstalled Adobe Flash, v.11.2.202.233 and tried to install the latest (at the time) v. 11.2.202.235 but get the "spinning ball" treatment and no progress on installation. Is my problem related to the Flashback malware or Adobe Flash or Java app? I believe someone or Apple posted a thread on how to determine if one's computer has the Flashback malware.I am running Mac OSX 10.7.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've had a MacBook for nearly 2 years and recently convinced my parents to switch from a PC to an iMac. I've managed to get everything up and running with the exception of our scanner which is an Epson Perfection 1640SU.When I push the scan button on the scanner, the computer recognizes the scanner and comes up with a preview. I can make adjustments with the menus but I can not actually push the "scan" button because it is grayed out. I've attached a screenshot so people get an exact idea of what I'm dealing with.

Installed virus scan in an unnecessary attempt to resolve some issues a year ago. I uninstalled it. A year later the Mac continues to have issues with the "VirusScan Reporter" failing to check in, exiting with exit code, etc. These issues seem to appear on the command log right around the time I get the spinning rainbow and it locks up. (I have ~20% free disk space, etc.)

When I turn on my iMac the apple logo appears behind what looks like jail bars then a dark shade rolls down the screen then tiny squares appear all over screen with error message to restart if it fails to restart manually, which it does. Cannot get past this point.Tried command R to no avail.
