Installed virus scan in an unnecessary attempt to resolve some issues a year ago. I uninstalled it. A year later the Mac continues to have issues with the "VirusScan Reporter" failing to check in, exiting with exit code, etc. These issues seem to appear on the command log right around the time I get the spinning rainbow and it locks up. (I have ~20% free disk space, etc.)

I was on stumble upon site for the past few days.(everything has been clean in my stumbles) today, I was reading an article and all of the sudden my mac went int virus scan mode. However, it was the virus scan mode for a PC, complete with all the PC icons and even box. I clicked out of it, because I didn't want to chance opening anything bad. I did some research, and everything I found said there shouldn't be any viruses for macs. I just want to be extra safe, is there anything I can do to check for viruses?

I know I had one at some point since my world of warcraft account was hacked using one. I've since quit the game and removed all WOW content from my computer but I have no idea where the keylogger originated.. I can assume it was within the wow folder in some addon i carelessly added but I cannot be entirely sure so I was hoping someone could point me in the direction of the best way to ensure that other passwords of mine will not be compromised.

is attached to word documents. a friend rid it from my husbands resume which he was trying to upload to monster. there doesn't seem to be a program to get rid of it on a mac. so everythng i open just gets infected on my 3 machines. other than taking it to a pc and running the program my friend had, is there a (program) that will allow me to get rid of it? i know it doesn't affect my machine but pcs will not take these docs.
