how do i connect my playstation 3 to my 2012 21" imac? as in, i want to use my iMac as a display so that I can play my ps on it... can i do this? what cords do i need etc?
I am running a network using a Time Machine as my DHCP server and Verizon wireless router. I use Microsoft Exchange for email, etc. For hours at a time, my Intel iMac (OS 10.7.4) will not connect to my Exchange Server using Outlook 2012, and I can not connect to the Exchange server using my browsers-Google Chrome or Safari (Outlook web access). I get errors that the server is not available. If I use another computer on my network, like my MacBook, it connects both through Outlook or Web Access in a browser window.
I have the same problem on my iMac whether I connect via ethernet or wireless. Firewall is disabled, using no proxies, etc... The problem may persist for a few hours or a day at a time and will spontaneously resolve-I have tried changing DHCP settings, etc... The problem occurs for all user accounts, and does not seem to differ if multiple users are logged or just one. The Exchange server address is the only web address I seem to have this problem with.
Heres the problem. My flat mate has two Playstation 2 controller's and a USB adapter so we can plug them into our laptops. Trouble is, the adapter allows both controllers to be plugged into just one USB port.
For some reason, my Mac only sees one controller, not them both as separate controllers. The software my flat mate got with the adapter is Windows only, so I'm kinda stumped to get them both working on my Mac.
Has anyone found a work around to get this working? I'm missing out on playing multiplayers on my N64 emulator!
Anyone using one of these? Does it work well in ichat and other apps? Did a search and some people mentioned they were getting it but nothing concrete on how well it works!
If I plug in the PlayStation Eye camera [URL] into the USB port of our iMac, will I be able to capture audio and video from it? Or does this camera work exclusively with the PlayStation 3? Also, if I could throw in another question, how do I get Final Cut Express to recognize and use the built-in iSight camera? It claims there is no camera connected.
Just received the "Please turn machine off by holding power button" error... now my machine won't turn on. It makes the chime, loads the status bar about 10% then turns off. Tried starting in safe mode: no luck. Held Shift+cmd+V and it loaded most of the text, as expected, but then turned off again without completion. I did try verifying and repairing disk permissions on a disk a few hours prior... which failed. But I was merely browsing on Safari when the initial error appeared.Â
I'm looking at getting an iMac for a family member to move them away from windows. This is not meant to be a gaming computer, but it will be playing Diablo 3. how well would the high-end iMac (not getting the 'online only' upgrades) run the game?
I have just ordered a new iMac and going to get the 24" Apple display to use my with my iMac as a dual display
Just have a quick question, which I hope someone will have a definitive answer too. As per the title, does anyone know if there is any way that I can connect my Playstation 3 to the 24" Apple Display.
Looking to get a 27 imac soon, this is my first time on this chat board and it has been asked many times I'm sure!!! Release date for the 2012 imac 27"??
I have searched and googled in different forums and found this issue but never found a good resolution or explanation. many of the posts were related to 2009 or around that time. since yesterday I started to hear a noise like clicking or something (it's a hard disk noise that we all know and have heard) from my hard disk. I have no clue where it comes from. my mac is absolutly idle and no huge process or I/O is going on. its happing once in 10 minutes maybe. Well, I want to start observing it on when exactly it happens! but to me it should not happen!
My shiny new Macbook Pro has already had a logicboard (Mac-ish for motherboard) replaced due to this. Games (tested Battlefield Bad Company 2 and GTA IV) crash within a few minutes with the screen freezing and showing random colors as the sound starts stuttering and the only solution is to do a hard restart - see image below. GTA IV tells me that it only recognizes 60 MB VRAM so I guess that the problem is with the graphic card not being able to use the computers onbard RAM (8 GB Corsair Vengeance). The RAM doesn't fail any tests and the computer works like a charm in OSX for days on end, even with heavy Lightroom/Photoshop use. Drivers are up to date.
Info: MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012), Mac OS X (10.7.4), Intel HD 4000
Unable to connect to the database:Could not connect to MySQL I just started to receive this message, when I try to go to this one website. What caused this? and how can I fix this problem? I an geet to website using other browsers.
I just bought a new 2012 aluminum Wireless keyboard and the function keys do not work properly. I am currently running OS 1.5.8. I would expect most keys to match the icons on the keyboard. I do not want to upgrade to Snow Leopard or Lion. I have installed an aluminum keyboard upgrade 2.0 and this did not help. I just want the the keyboard functions to match the icons on the keyboard.. Volume up...volume down...
I have a 2007 20 inch Intel core 2 duo iMac and an LG 46" LCD tv. I bought an HDMI cable and a Mini DVI to HDMI adapter but cannot get them to work together. Nothing happens when I click on detect displays in the system preferences.Â
Do I possibly have the wrong version on Mini DVI, for instance DVI-D instead of DVI-I?
So I've got an odd problem, here's the scenario: 27" iMac 2.8GHz Quad Core running OS X 10.7.1, and a netgear router (connected to a Comcast modem). It sees the network, connects then drops the network. However, a MacBook Air running 10.6.8, an iPad, and a Sony Viao running Windows 7 can connect and stay connected to the network fine. This made me think that something with the iMac's WiFi card is broken so we brought it to work and connected it to our network (802.11x, WPA2 Enterprise, Cisco routers) and it worked perfectly. He brought it back home, still couldn't connect to his network. We brought it to the campus Apple store and they replaced the airport card and it seemed to resolve the problem for a bit, but now the issue has come back.Yesterday we did a full time machine back up, wiped the hard drive and did a full OS X Lion re-install and restored from the Time Machine back up, ran all of the Apple software updates and it connected to the WiFi here at work fine.Brought it home, still won't connect to his network. This would make me think that it's an issue with his home network but all the other devices are working fine.We had a Comcast technician look at the network and they found nothing wrong.
Itunes say's that i need to update to be able to connect my phone, yet when i try to update it says my software wont let me.So I have tried to update the software but it say's there are no updates?? I really am useless with computers. It's an Imac5,1 -system version Mac OS X 10.4.11Â (8S2167) Â
mid 2011 imac, no vga, no dvi. have a mini to vga and a mini to dvi, but they are both too big. is there some sort of "vga-or-dvi to thunderbolt connector" that neither me nor the guys at the best buy are just not understanding? think i have one of these (which says it does it) bought a month or so ago and an older dvi version i bought maybe three years back for a macbook.but are maybe four times too large for the little thunderport:[URL]
I have a Verizon Mifi 4G LTE and I can connect to my Powerbook (which is running on system 10.6.4) BUT I CAN'T CONNECT TO MY iMAC (which is running on system 10.5.8. When I try to connect, it "times out".Â
I want to connect my 2009 iMac, Mac os x version 10.5.8 to my 2008 Samsung LCD TV, model LN32A450C1D. Does anyone know what cords I will need so I can watch videos from my computer on my TV?
What's the best way to connect my iMac (2011) to my TV? My TV has HDMI inputs and my iMac has Thunderbolt ports, so I know I can connect them with a cable, but they are about 20 feet apart and I think that's too long for a cable run.
i have an iMac and am trying to connect it to my HDMI tv so i can watch films through my tv. iv read about all the mini DVI things but my Imac does not have a mini DVI port as it is relitavley new, it only has 1 ethernet, 2 thunderbolt, 1 firewire and a few USB's. I have a thunderbolt to hdmi adapter which i can plug a HDMI cable in and hook it up to my TV, how do i get the display to come up onto the TV?Â
My current software is LION if that would affect.Â
I have an older (white) iMac that connects wirelessly to my Linksys router. I bought a new iMac and I am unable to connect both iMacs wirelessly at the same time. I was wondering if the issue had to do with using the same Apple ID's, but I don't think that is the case. It seems like the old iMac is connected to the router, the new one wont connect and vise versa.
I've seen this question asked before, but it was all related to people who are running lion. I have 10.5.8, which I believe is leopard. Whenever I try to connect to airport, I get my network from the list, enter the password then I get a connection timeout after about 15 seconds. We have had this problem for a while now. We just got a new router this week and I'm still have this problem.
