I have a new iMac which I'm attempting to connect to my Sony KDL-46S5100 LCD Television via HDMI. The TV will not recognize the computer. I have confirmed that my adapter and cable work by testing the connections on a MacBook Pro - that worked fine. However, when I plug the adapter into my iMac the TV says "no signal" and the iMac does not recognize the TV. I went to the Apple store earlier and they were able to get the computer to connect to their TV with no problem.
I am trying to discover what I would need by which to connect my iMac 20" to a 42" HDTV with HDMI port. So far I have not found anything in the manual that tell what is needed, that all just state it can be done.

iMac mid-2011. Trying to connect to LG TV with HDMI. I have tried direct HDMI to HDMI cable, which is supposed to work but does not. I have tried using the mini-display connector. It still doesn't work.
I'm trying to connect my mid 2011 iMac to my tv. I have a thunderbolt to hdmi cable that I purchased. I connected the thunderbolt port to the iMac and connected the hdmi port to the tv. I turned on both devices and the tv is not getting the signal.
I have a MacBook Pro and a HDMI cable which once did work, but no longer. Did software change, did my luck run out? What can I do to make HDMI cable work again?
I need a 6ft DVI to HDMI cable to connect my mini to my TV. Unfortunately these are out of stock at monoprice. Can you suggest any other reputable alternate site where these cables can be bought for a reasonable price?
I'm currently running a 21.5" iMac that I picked up in October of '09. I also have a Viewsonic 21" monitor (nx2232w) that I have connected to the iMac at the moment through an HDMI to DVI cable out of the Viewsonic, and into a DVI to mini-DVI for the iMac.The monitor is appearing and functioning in this setup, but I can't get a resolution of any decency. Most everything is out-of-range, or wildly odd, and I know I can do better somehow. I've been searching for Viewsonic drivers, trying out different combinations, and trolling the forums to no avail.
I want to connect my MBP Mid 2011 to my HDMI TV. My MBP only has the Thunderbolt Port and I am struggling to understand what type of connection cable I require.[URL]

I am trying to connect my Mac Book Pro to HD tv with a HDMI cable. I bought the cable at the apple store. When I plug it in and I turn tv to HDMI, the screen on my laptop turns blue for a few seconds and then returns to home screen. How do I get my computer to show up on my tv?

So i have a MBP late 2009 edition and I bought the mini display port with hdmi to connect my mbp to my hdtv, everything works cept there is no audio. I even checked the system pref and everything.
I feel like I've read every thread on every forum, and they all cover the same issues. I've spent FAR too many hours trying to hook this up and I'm asking for your help. I have the mini dvi to hdmi adapter, with the hdmi going into the tv. I only have one hdmi input on my TV so I know it's turned to the right input. I've tried mirroring, I've tried switching hdmi cables, and even bought another adapter. I had the picture up yesterday just clicking on settings but it was when the screen wasn't mirrored, and it was treating it as another display. Now I can't even get that to work. I've tried every resolution. I plug it in, and detect the monitor, and it brings up two windows. One is "color lcd" and the other is "TSB-H66S".
Have just bought a Macbook to HDTV HDMI connector cable from the Apple store in MK - plugged in to Macbook & connected other end to TV & get great playback picture but no sound!

I have a Mac Mini w/windows 7 32 bit installed VIA bootcamp. Is anyone running [URL] this VIA windows on a Mac? I tried mini DVI to VGA, but my tv won't pick up the windows side at all and I can't get 1080p on the Mac side.

I just replaced my HDTV with a new Sony Bravia 32EX500 (Full HD, 1080p). My previous TV (HD Ready, 720p) was linked to my 2008 iMac with a VGA cable (with a mini-DVI to VGA adapter on the Mac end). It worked perfectly fine, but I can't get it to work with the new TV. Could you please tell me what resolution, frequency, and colours I should use to make it work?
Please not that I do not want a HDMI cable. I know it'd be better and easier, but my computer is quite far away from the TV and an HDMI cable of that length would be way too expensive. I'd rather find a way to make it work with the existing VGA cable. I just need to find the right settings for that VGA input. The TV doesn't recognize the signal right now.
