This week I have several programs that are quitting unexpectedly, or will not open all of a sudden. Photoshop CS, office 2004, and even the Appleworks programs. They all refuse to open. I uninstalled PS and the office products, and then tried to reinstall and couldn't even do that from the install disk. I did do a disk repair scan, but it said there was nothing wrong with the disk. And I'm getting some SymSecondary launch(whatever that is) failure as well.

so basically programs are quitting on me whenever it seems too much for the ram to handle, not sure if thats the case but certain webpages and programs work but when i go to craigslist or other sites, it lags while its thinking and then quits. also dashboard client quits every time i open it. when i watch videos at a completely unprompted time the video will just pause and the spinning coloured wheel will pop up and it will basically be frozen for about 30 seconds, this happens every 30min or so.
a week ago i had a problem where this lag occurred then eventually i could not load/start the mac at all but after very helpful tips from your techs i reinstalled osx while archiving all my files but there is still a definate issue.this is the link to that question if at all helpful[URL]have also freed up some HD space, i have over 30 gb's free, and before the dashboard crashes, my istat widget tells me i have around 2.5-3 gb's free of RAM so im not too sure what the problem is, maybe i should just wipe everything and start fresh? i dont really want to do this so if anyone has an idea, i would love to hear from you.
My 10.6.8 is slowing down and quitting programs unexpectedly.

this is my first time posting and I hope someone can help me. Last night my machine routinely installed new software and now tonight when I have tried to use some applications and also one of my games which I have been using regularly for about a year now I have got the following messages This application quit unexpectedly and the other said Assertion failed: is Loaded. I am wondering whether it is anything to do with the software update installed last night. I know this happened to me once before and it was something to do with the update and I was told to download something else which cancelled out what was previously installed and everything started working perfectly again.Â

my applications have recently started freezing with the beach ball spinning. the only way i can close them is by force quitting.

Random applications like Steam, Safari, or even games I've bought close unexpectedly at different times. Safari will close if I try to watch videos occasionally; Steam will close if I try to click on random games; and some games won't even launch, it will still say they "quit" unexpectedly.

We are using a Imac 27" mid 2010, Mac OS Lion. When an email arrives while working in Quark or Photoshop (and other programs) we leave the program and go to mail to read it. On returning to either Quark or Photoshop etc the program has stopped responding requiring a force quit. Mail also seems to be running slower than usual.

I have a question about using my new samsung tv as a monitor for my macbook. I have all the cables and such and my TV reads the computer. It actually shows the desktop background, mouse, and the toolbar on the tv...
BUT....when i try and open a program such as safari or itunes it does not display the program on the monitor but rather on my macbook screen. It shows the program open on the tv monitor but it shoots off the screen and then opens on the macbook screen.
Also the mouse disappears from the tv monitor screen on the left side only, and when it does it becomes visible back on the macbook screen! Any tips or suggestions on how to get the programs to show up on the monitor instead of the macbook screen?
even when i dont have any programs actually running i get the stupid coloured spinning circle and i can hear the computer thinking like ive got 20 programs running at the same time , kind of like the windows CPU usage stuck on 100% problem.

I copied a folder of photographs to my desktop from a disc. Now when I try to eject the disc I get a message that this can't be done because one or more programmes may be using it. I've also tried dragging the icon to trash but that fails as well.Â
What programme could be using the disc and am reluctant to force eject the disc at the moment as there is also a message that doing so could damage the contents and the disc belongs to my daughter and contains professionally shot images of my granddaughter.
