Sep 14, 2010I was just wondering if slow internet happens from a slow computer as well as bad connection. I have no idea what's going on with both my Safari and Chrome browsers because I have cable internet and its not slow by any means but my browsers keep crashing (had to force quit out of safari 6 times in 2 minutes) or i see the dreaded beachball for more than five minutes. I don't know what's going on.

Jan 11, 2009I installed XP onto Boot Camp, so I can run some Windows games on it. At first, it didn't seem like it was that bad but after loading Sims 2, 2 expansion packs and 1 stuff pack it was a little... different. Windows still starts up pretty quick and everything, but in OS X... the performance has been decreasing slowly. Doesn't the things only affect the things in the Windows partition instead of OS X? Safari's performance wasn't as smooth as it used to be.

May 17, 2012My Mac Mini locked up when it was downloading an update. I tried to reload the operating system from the disk shipped with the computer and it would not (said that a newer version had already been installed.So I restored from time machine, but the applications were not being backed up. I have been able to load my propriatary programs, but I cannot get the bundled Apple programs that come with the computer... So I cannot adjust system preferences or time machjine preferences. I have noe dik utility etc. How can I get the basic programs back?

May 20, 2009I purchased my first Mac ever, the iMac with 3.06ghz, 8GB and 1T.
I LOVE THIS iMac.
Now, I got this iMac to use Protools with plugins. Now I'm only using 3 tracks with virtual instruments and is already asking me to increase CPU usage or remove RTAS(virtual instruments).
Is there a way to chip off CPU usage from other programs that the computer may be using? Anyone has solution except removing some virtual instruments, I mean I got this iMac to work with music.

I have reviewed the Preferences of these programs, and see nothing to uncheck regarding auto startup. And I don't see anything related to this in System Preferences. I had to get my hard drive replaced on my Macbook (running OS 10.5.7) but on all of my backups "Preview" is missing (was somehow deleted when I installed Gimp).
Every time I restore from a backup Preview is gone. Is it possible for me to move all of my files and programs to my MacBook without restoring from a backup?

Feb 25, 2008My comp. has worked perfectly, Then I installed some updates, Itunes i think? And the comp. Shut down, and when it restarts it works for a min or two, then freezes, and i get the beach ball, that just spins around and around forever.
if I don't try to open anything, or do anything when i restart it, it will just shut down, and restart, then when it comes to the Grey screen with the apple and the little circle below it, the circle looks all pixilated, and just freezes
that is the version its on (Taken two days ago, and sent to a buddy for other reasons completely)

Jul 2, 2012We are using a Imac 27" mid 2010, Mac OS Lion. When an email arrives while working in Quark or Photoshop (and other programs) we leave the program and go to mail to read it. On returning to either Quark or Photoshop etc the program has stopped responding requiring a force quit. Mail also seems to be running slower than usual.

In XP I installed the new drivers and ran CCC's built-in overclocking utility which tests the card and makes recommendations for boosting the speeds. The program recommended increasing the clock/memory from 700/800 to 760/860.
