The file will go to the print que but will not connect to the printer. When I restart the computer it will print. I have an Apple friendly printer. Is it my network?

10.9.4 with Epson WF 845. Queue opens, job appears to process out of the queue and the queue closes. Nothing happens at the printer. Only the one printer on the network. Have deleted & added the printer. Have reset the printer system. Printer wired through a Linksys WRT 1900AC and computers are wireless to the same router. Worked fine until the last day or so.

I recently had to reformat my iMac because it was restarting constantly and it kept freezing too. After a reformat, I installed a few programs. Skype, Microsoft Office 2010, VLC, Plex Home Theatre, Plex Media Server, an uTorrent.Â

I hate in Lion how when I restart my computer, all of the applications I had open before reopen. Can I turn that off? It takes start up forever. I've seen how to uncheck "Restore windows when quitting and reopening apps" and I've uncheck that, but it doesn't work for this case. I just want to start up like normal and I pick the apps I want to open at the time

My computer crashed last night. When I started it back up, the permissions on one of my internal drives in my Mac Pro that I store data on had changed. This also just started happening with my iPhoto and iTunes as well. Sometimes my computer will just shut off completely and restart with a message saying there was a problem and it had to shut down. It seems like there is some bug or maybe a third party add on I need to get off?

I am playing around with HD video and have a very large Quicktime File (12.5GB) that froze my computer while rendering. I need to delete it. (CRASH: screen freezes and dark line slowly comes from top to bottom and once entire screen is slightly darker, a post in the middle pops up and tells me to turn off computer by holding power button).Â
After a lot of trial and error, it seems the problem is that the computer can't handle the massive deletion. Unlike a lot of other similar issues on this forum, this is a single file and not hundreds, so i can't delete portions at a time and be done with it. I have run through all my ideas and need help on how to delete this file from my computer and have come up with two possible ways:Â
1 - Split this video into smaller files. I dont know how to do this: I have SPLIT-CONCAT but that duplicates (then splits) and does not actually split the original. I tried "replacing" the video with the same-named smaller file and it crashed the computer.Â
2 - Change preferences on this computer somehow to allow this massive deletion. I tried a force empty through terminal and it did the same crash. I dont know if there is a preference (disk manager) or otherwise to get rid of this file. Â

Today I downloaded the MacOSXUpdCombo 10.7.4 from the apple website. I opened it up and it got to about half way through installation before a grey hue dropped down on my screen and a message appeared "Your computer needs to restart". After restarting, I got a error message saying that my computer had to shut down due to issues and to submit a bug report to apple. I decided to give it another go and the exact same thing happened

I was wondering if anyone knows of a fix for my iMac 21.5" which seems to disable the onboard sound upon restarting?Â
I understand that this can be remedied by resetting the SMC but I cannot be expected to do this each and every time the machine is restarted. Is there any way I can get it to work permanently?Â
Upon restarting the volume icon is greyed out, and pressing the volume up/down keys bring up the volume box with a "no entry" sign underneath the icon. I've tried unplugging and replugging the external speakers to no avail, and this occurs with the internal speakers also. I've checked the correct device is selected in the volume settings and the optical output is not switched on.
A couple days ago after restarting my imac I was shocked to find that my personal preferences had been reset to default and that some programs were behaving like they had just been installed. Firefox for instance asked me to import settings from safari, after skipping importing i found that all my bookmarks and add-ons were gone.

my work computer (Windows), but my 2012 iMac that I've had for 2 years has worked flawlessly up until recently. A few days ago it started taking forever to display files in finder. I had to keep relaunching, and it would freeze. I tried the workaround that was posted here but that didn't work either. It went away for a few days, but last night it really came back with a vengeance. The relaunch finder trick only showed the current folder, while navigating to other folders would simply show the loading icon forever. Â
Also, my iMac was shutdown for over an entire day yesterday, and when I turned it on the " Your computer restarted because of a problem". came up. I've never experienced this problem before, but after 3-4 tries it finally logged in to the Home screen. This is when I noticed the above (finder problems) returning from a few days ago after being absent. The finder issues continued, so I restarted the mac, and it just kept cycling over and over (reboot, try to load, auto-reboot, etc.).
Is this an issue with the HDD? I did a disk utility check the other day and it said everything was in great shape.
I am not very computer savvy and have just bought a new mac laptop with leopard on it. On my old mac I used igetter download manager to queue my downloads but after installing it on this latest laptop I find it sits on 'waiting' when I try to add a download, then comes up with 'error 401'. I was wondering if I can automatically queue my downloads without a manager and if not then any suggestions as I am not sure about how to get the igetter working or which other managers to use.

OS X does not show me all the waiting jobs as it just shows each one drip by drip which causes the printer to print the unwanted print jobs. I want to be able to add songs to a queue (which I can do with the DJ party shuffle), but I would also like to queue them differently. For example, if I have 6 songs in the queue, I would want to be able to go 1,3,5,4 sometimes or queue 1,5,6,2 without having to physically change the order of the queue each time. I would rather just be able to right click each song and click "queue" or something to that effect, sort of like the Amarok music player.

When I first got these set up, both printers worked with Apple applications and with Windows 7 applications. View 6 Replies View RelatedI've got two printers - one at work and one at home. They're both HP, if that's any help. When I try to print to either of them - either connected on USB at home, or over the network at work, the document seems to spool ok - (the printer icon appears is doc), but then it never prints.
If you open the Job queue for the printer, the job is listed there with a status of "error". I can't seem to find any more useful info - sorry. Feel free to ask me for stuff if it'll help you help me. The printer is detected as online - it says Printer Ready in the box. I can post screenshots if it'll help.
