I have a specific problem with my printer KYOCERA FS-1700+.It is connected via USB to my MacBook Pro which operates MAC OS 10.6.4The latest driver update on the Kyocera page supports OS 10.5, and the printer prints just half of the pages with this driver. The pre-installed Kyocera driver on my Mac does not work at all.
Ever since I upgraded to OS X Lion, I have noticed something different in the print dialogue. First the technical info: I am using a 2009 Mac Mini (4 GB RAM, OS 10.7.3) and I have a couple of printers that I use - one is a Brother laser printer (shared from an iMac, running 10.6.8) and a Canon Pixma Pro 9000, connected via USB to a Time Capsule.Â
When I hit Command-P to bring up the print sheet, I now get icons on the left hand side of some of the printer names in the printer list. One looks like a road sign - diamond shaped with a walking person in it, and the other is a circle with a wavy line (tilde?) in it. The other printer names have no icons next to them. I gather that the circle-and-tilde means "printer not available" (or something similar) - even though the printer is there!!! And then I wonder why the other printer names have no icons, and I have no clue what the "walking person" sign means. Â

I have a HP PSC 1110 to which I print wirelessly, via an Airport Express, from my ibook. I've been useing it successfully for about a month, but today for the first time I tried to print photos from iPhoto and it wouldn't print in colour...in fact it won't print in colour wirelessly no matter which application the print job is sent from. When I attached the printer directly to the ibook via USB and it worked perfectly so I have a staightforward solution, but, it should work in colour wirelessly shouldn't it?
Brand new HP Photosmart C4480 from Apple Store (connected via USB to AEBS)...
Prints fine from both MBP (unibody) and Vista lappy...but only in COLOR!
Why on earth would this be...could it be something simple as the black ink cartridge straight out of the box has ink problems? I've re-seated the black just to make sure, but seriously prints nothing in black...only color!
I'm trying to print a legal size 4 page document. The first page printed then the printer stopped. I've tried repeatedly to print page 2, but it never gets beyond the 'sending print data'. I tried deleting the job but it didn't go away. I finally had to shut down my MacBook and the printer, then restart them and the job was gone. But I still get the 'sending print data' when I try to print page 2.
Info:MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.8), This is not a wireless printer.
I have a HP Photosmart C4200 Series (C4280 to be exact). I have recently installed Snow Leopard (was using Leopard before) and this printer shows as supported in Snow Leopard. The problem I'm having, is that when I go to print a document from Microsoft Word (Office 2008) for Mac, all I get are blank pages. I printed something from Text Edit and it comes out fine, but files from Microsoft Word come out blank. Also, the "Test" pages come out fine as well.
I have been printing files for months and months now from Microsoft Word, but this is the first time I have tried in Snow Leopard.Does anyone know what is going on? I really need to print stuff since its for school.
10.9.4 with Epson WF 845. Queue opens, job appears to process out of the queue and the queue closes. Nothing happens at the printer. Only the one printer on the network. Have deleted & added the printer. Have reset the printer system. Printer wired through a Linksys WRT 1900AC and computers are wireless to the same router. Worked fine until the last day or so.
Info: iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4), Epson WF 845, Linksys WRT 1900AC
I want to copy formulas only from a previous worksheet to create a new worksheet. I am using this to do monthly accounts for 2012. Everytime I cut and paste the formula, it links it to where I copied it fror.  I am worrried about saving it as I do not want to make any changes to the previous months. The person who created the worksheet is not available to do this for me.Â
I just found out that HP dropped support for the 990cx.
But the questions is: is that why both our new imac as well as our Macbook pro will only print low res gray?I can print color via a app on my ipad, but both of our other two macs print only lowres gray?
I have been trying to print out a page of labels using either pages or the address book and have so far failed. I am new to Apple products; I can do it really easily in Word etc.
The file will go to the print que but will not connect to the printer. When I restart the computer it will print. I have an Apple friendly printer. Is it my network?
Info: iMac (21.5-inch Mid 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.3)
I go to the Print and Scan utility, click the '+', and the Add Printer box pops up. My Default option is empty, grayed out, I can't manually add anything to it.Â
My other options are Fax, IP, and Windows. Neither one of my wireless printers are detected on any of these headings. My "Print Sharing" option is enabled. The printer is online, I can print just fine from my PC. I also tried connecting the printer to my Mac via USB and still it wasn't detected. All my software is updated, including drivers.Â
I tried calling Apple and they want me to pay $50 to have my computer print. I have spent four hours online with no success. I am about 5 seconds away from throwing my MacBook Air out the window, or ripping my hair out.Â
I'm a professional composer. I've just re-done my studio set up and it looks like this,The two thunderbolt displays seem to work perfectly and I've had no complaints with them. I just can't get the TV to be that 4th monitor. I'd like to flick the video I'm working with up to the TV above to give my desktop ample room. I've tried two things so far: (1) a mini display port to HDMI cable, and (2) a mini display port to VGA to HDMI (crazy, I know). Is there any way I can get this to work? Any alternatives? Â
I want to upgrade to Lion OS, but I need another gig of memory installed. I have an older iMac with OS 10.6.8, and one memory tray is empty. I'd like to know how much the Apple Store/Genius Bar will charge me to install one of their 1 GB memory cards. So, in aggregate, the cost of the memory + the installation at the Apple Store). Is it cheaper to have an Apple-certified technician do the installation?
I have put a large amount of data into the Trash, including some back-ups. It will not empty now - it calculates the size of the task, shows about 1.9m and then reduces by one of two and stops.Â
My trash won't empty...each time I try it says sevearl files are in use when they are not open. I have restarted the computer and tried to empty the trash ans still says it is in use. There are many files...possibly picture files. How do I get all the files to empty out?
