I've been experiencing a problem with my 2007 MacBook Pro. At seemingly random intervals the computer freezes, the screen goes blue, and restarts at the login screen. It does NOT fully restart the computer, which is why I'm having difficulty finding a solution to this problem since most info online seems to deal with that issue. Â
I took it to the Genius Bar -- they reset the cache and system permissions -- but the problem remains unsolved. There's no new hardware of software I can think of..MacBook Pro Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 Ghz running Mac OSX 10.6.8. Please let me know if I can provide more info. Â

When I put in the original OEM leopard discs that came with my new macbook, the computer just keeps restarting. Any ideas? I thought these were recovery discs?
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy computer has been spontaneously restarting itself. This last time I wasn't even at the keyboard, I was across the room. I don't know what to make of it, completely baffled.

My Macbook(bought last year) just crashed and I had to turn it off by holding down the power button. Now after I turn it back on, it takes a really long time to load and when I get to the login, I can't type my password in the box. I can still move the pointer around, but can't click anything with the trackpad. I've also tried an external usb keyboard but that also doesn't work.

Hi! Im new to the forums but i really need help with something and i was hoping someone here could help me out. So I just installed Tech Tool Deluxe onto my macbook and then shut it down later. I went back to use it again and when i turned it on a login screen appeared asking me to put in my password. I did that and the screen turned blue (looking like it was loading) and then went back to the login screen. Every time i put in my password it just takes me back to the login screen. I have had my mac for a while and i dont want my hardrive to get wiped out so what do i do? Thank you for looking
View 1 Replies View Relatedi ve recently activated the default guest account in leopard. However even though when I check in the accounts.prefpane it says that it is on and its 'login only' and when I click on the account it says 'allow guests to login into this computer' and its on.
However when I boot up my machine and click on the guest icon, it wont let me in as it shakes the menu(login failed).
I recently had to reformat my iMac because it was restarting constantly and it kept freezing too. After a reformat, I installed a few programs. Skype, Microsoft Office 2010, VLC, Plex Home Theatre, Plex Media Server, an uTorrent.Â
My computer restarted randomly again, twice :-( I included the crash report below if it is useful.Â

I hate in Lion how when I restart my computer, all of the applications I had open before reopen. Can I turn that off? It takes start up forever. I've seen how to uncheck "Restore windows when quitting and reopening apps" and I've uncheck that, but it doesn't work for this case. I just want to start up like normal and I pick the apps I want to open at the time

My computer crashed last night. When I started it back up, the permissions on one of my internal drives in my Mac Pro that I store data on had changed. This caused some problems when trying to open applications with files stored on that volume (i.e. my Adobe Lightroom catalog). I fixed these issues, and then restarted my Mac. When I did, I saw this:Â
I've since restarted my computer a few times, and it's doing this every time.Â

My macbook pro has been acting weird for a week or so. I'll be on the internet and then it will randomly shut down safari or google chrome and send an error report message. This also just started happening with my iPhoto and iTunes as well. Sometimes my computer will just shut off completely and restart with a message saying there was a problem and it had to shut down. It seems like there is some bug or maybe a third party add on I need to get off?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have Mac Mini 1.66 Intel 2006 OS X 10.4.11 with CD-R and DVD Player that won't boot properly into single user mode using a IBM PC keyboard. I have tried the alt-s, windows key-s and control-s key combinations. from the mac keyboard hints sheet located on this web site.
I have also tried to boot with key combinations from the mac mini manual with no success. I have also tried to simply insert the install CD/DVD for MAC OS X 10.4 that came with the computer and start the computer with various key combinations and the cd/dvd drive will not boot.
What do I need to do to be able to accomplish these tasks with the PC/ Windows keyboard.
Why does Mail create multiple messages as I type one message, which all show up when searching for the original message?

I have the current generation $599 Mac Mini, with Nvidia graphics (just to clarify the model).
My wireless network is setup from an Airport Express.
My iMac, Powerbook, iPhones, Apple TV, Wii, etc. can all stay connected without problem.
However, my Mac Mini loses the connection constantly. It shows full signal, but then it drops out 100 percent for a few minutes, nonstop all day. It makes it completely useless effectively.
What kind of settings and things could I try to change?
Or, is this likely a hardware issue?
I have a 15" 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Mac Book with 4 GB of rams. I just updated and right after that there is no sound. when I restart the computer I can hear the start up and before logging in when I use the volume buttons I can hear the sound but right after I log in into my computer there is no sound. I restarted few times and I don't know what else can I do?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a colleague who is still running 10.2 (yea I know, time to upgrade, but they haven't felt the need for it yet I guess). Anyway, someone changed and forgot, or someone did it to be a jerk, either way they are unable to update any software or even log in. Just wondering how to rest the password. The computer is stuck on the log in screen currently and they can't access anything.
View 11 Replies View RelatedThis is a function that was present in Leopard and is now gone in Snow Leopard. Is there any way to enable it? When I wake up my computer from sleep, there's typically another user who's logged in and I can type in my admin user name in the Username box and my password and log in to their account.
