Mac Mini :: Cannot Read Received Email Message - Only Get Loading Sign
May 7, 2012
Just bought a new MacMini(my first Apple PC) and when I open mail I get the brief details of mail received but when I click on the message to read the details I get a "loading" sign but the message is not displayed. I have 2 different mail accounts.
I booted up my Mac Mini last monday to find for some reason it is stuck in that loading screen which displays a grey background, the apple logo and a round loading swirly sign. I have tried running disc utility and trying to repair it but it dosent detect any errors, I also tried clearing the PRAM according to Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM and still no joy. I've done a total reinstall of OSX and went through an hour and a half of erasing and reinstalling osx from its supplied discs, however still it wont get past the loading screen.
I've used a usb hard drive aswell and tried installing osx onto that to see if it was a hard drive error but it still gets stuck at the same loading screen. I can access safe mode without a problem. I have done numerous hours of searching the web without any luck to a cure to my specific problem. Specs are Mac Mini 1.66GHZ intel duo core 2, 1gb ram, 10.6 OSX (upgraded from 10.5) 100gb hard drive I have also started up in Verbose mode and got alot of info that I don't really understand, I've attached screen shots of where the loading screen gets stuck in verbose upon 4 attempts at booting up the mini.
This error message on my 15" macBook Pro recently appeared and blocks my access to all my music. I have downloaded the itunes updates and still get this message.
It seems the my Mail app never makes the new message received chime, unless the mail app is on top and the active window. I have it checked to play the chime in pref.
On a Mac OS X 10.4.11. laptop. ISP provider is Comcast. Have successfully been sending and receiving emails at home no problem using Entourage for two years. Have now taken laptop to visit away from home and clicked into the host's house wifi system - AT&T u-vers.
Entourage will now receive but not send emails. Receive 3259 error message about timing out. However, can send fine by going to Comcast's site, therefore Comcast insists this is not their problem but an Entourage problem, probably with settings.
I am trying to install Mac OS X Lion I just downloaded. At the step where it asks you to select a disk to install, I got this message:"This disk is not formatted as Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Use Disk Utility to enable journaling or reformat the disk."What does this mean? Please help me through the steps to complete my installation of this software.
My .mac mail is being*received*on my blackberry but not on my mail programme on my laptop. My other email accounts are being received in mail on my laptop. Also Mail is running super slow and the only way to close it is through force quit.
The clock symbol is displayed next to the .mac account name in mail and even when i put the .mac account offline it keeps trying to download showing the ticking wheeling symbol or whatever it is called. Also when mail is open all other programmes run super slow and half the time safari does not work at all saying the system is not connected to the internet.
I have tried several times to send an email with a link to a tumblr blog and it is not being received by the recipients. It is in my sent items and I have not received a notification to say it has not been sent. If I send the same email without the hyperlink they recieve it. What is stopping this email from being sent properly and why am I not receiving a notification to say otherwise.
I received a email with a ".wpl" attachment which I am unable to open. I do have "Flip4Mac" but no luck anyone have any ideas. Frankly I have never seen a .wpl before so what is it?
I was looking around in mail and I think it is really cool that u can add your own sound for when you receive a new email. 2 things would be nice. 1) Add a sound for each individual contact. 2) Mail sends you a txt message when you receive an email.
I have a Power Mac G4 Quicksilver 933Mhz running OS X 10.4.11. Ever since I upgraded from Vs. OS X 10.4, I have had problems with my browsers. When I boot up I get an alert message with a red sign that shows for about two or three quick seconds. I am not able to read what it states. Can someone tell me how to bring up this alert message. I think it might have something to do with how my browser is not functioning properly. I can't load up some pages with my Safari or FireFox browsers; I get a blank screen, but the URL shows up with some additional information. I also have a 2009 Mac Pro that does not have this problem with loading up web site pages.
