I'm running Safari 5.1.4, and Mail 5.2 on a system running OS 10.7.3. I am trying to send a link to a page from safari using CMD+SHIFT+I. When I attempt to do that, I receive a message that Safari cannot find an email application. I checked Mail's preferences, and it is listed as the default mail application. How to get Safari to find Mail?

View 5 Replies View RelatedSince updating Safari recently to 5.1.5, if I choose the Mail Link to This Page command, instead of opening Mail.app with a new email with the link pasted in, it launches Google Chrome and, in Chrome, goes to the email login page for Google webmail. If I choose the Mail Contents of This Page command, I get an error message stating: "Safari can't create an email message because Google Chrome.app doesn't support sending webpages from Safari. You can use the Mail application included with Mac OS X to send webpages." Safari is set as my default browser. This behavior started immediately after the 5.1.5 update.I use these commands pretty regularly and, through many version of mail.app and Safari, there has never been a glitch. Any ideas, folks? Or is this a bug introduced by 5.1.5 or some other recent Software Update? (Software updates are completely up to date and on 10.7.3.)

I have a 21.5" iMac bought in November 2009. I am having a strange happening with it. I have just been using Mail, clicked on the red button at the top left to quit, but the mail window just kept disappearing all but about 3mm off the screen to the top and top left and not quitting. I have also had this happen when using Safari, occasionally if I click on a link on the page to another open another page Safari disappears off the top and top left except for about 3mm.

At the end of each week I need to mail out a link. This link is a link to folder on a windows network.Its one of those tasks that I have made a little quicker by making a template in mail.app. However I have to go in and amend that link each week so that it points to the right location. This is tedious still and as a result human mistakes can still be made.This is my process at the momentIn mail app I select a templates Then I select send again or use the keyboard short the subject then needs to be amended and I replace the XX with the week number.then I select the link ctrl click and select edit linkAgain both of the XX get replaced with the week number.once complete I then hit send.Then move onto the next brand.The first option would be week number then this is slightly more involved but some kind of selection box to select which brands to recieve the email? I've looked up a number of scripts and link/html mail seams to be very awkward. Hopefully I have covered everything that needs to be listed Matt

I installed Mavericks yesterday and find that when I receive an email with a link or go on another site with a link, it opens in the window I have on the screen instead of a separate window. Sometimes I need to transfer pictures or copy to a different page and cannot do that now.

Both Firefox and Chrome let you search within the displayed webpage by just starting typing ("find as you type").
This bypasses the added step of having to to do CMD-F, as Safari requires.Â

I have only been "MAC" for five years now...from a PC of course. I LOVE IWEB, but noted this morning on one of my sites I have up ONLY on one page one of the navigation links is not working. I went back into Mac and took the page and marked it NOT to be linked saved and went back and reinstated it in the link navigation bar, resaved it, republished it, ftp'd it up and cleared recent history... and still no luck.
artistsoftexas.org on the ARTIST page, I cannot get the link to actively work to Galleries/workshops. Works on all other pages.
Whoever reads this, do me a favor, please. Find a web page with a link that produces a tooltip when you hover over it. Click that link. Wait for the resulting page to load, then hit the "back" button. Move your pointer off of the link you originally clicked, and just wait a moment. Does a tooltip for that link you clicked appear, just as though you were still hovering over it? It does for me. It has in every single version of Safari I've ever used, from version whateverthehellhaveyou in Jaguar, to Safari 3 in Tiger, Safari 4 in Leopard and Snow Leopard, to Safari 5 in Snow Leopard on not one, not two, but 4 different Macintoshes: a G3 iBook, a white non-unibody Macbook, another white non-unibody Macbook, and an aluminum unibody MacBook.
Just wondering if this happens to everyone, or if this is something special between Safari and me.
no matter what browser i use, safari, firefox, i can't download anything! whenever i click download it just takes me to a new site with nothing on it and the name of the download in the url

and no download starts or anything. its like my computer is going dumb. like it doesn't download it, just like opens the link with a blank page. why is it not downloading it. this happens for ANYTHING from ANY site on ANY web browser.
When on a company's webpage, I click on the link to a form. The page comes up blank. When I do this on another computer (HP desktop) the form shows up fine. Is there a setting problem with my MacBook that I can fix?

For the last week I find that after sending an email with attachments that it remains in my draft box after sending. The mail shows up in the sent box, but it never get's deleted from the draft box until I resend it. This is happening on both my MBP and iMac. Both machines connect to iCloud for mail.

The error is confusing; it goes something like: "Cannot link across master page items" and brings me from my page, to the master page and keeps coming up with this same warning each time I try to Undo, or when I try to go back to my body page, it wont let me because of some crossed link?
This is very confusing to describe, but hopefully someone else has had this exact problem and luckily they have been able to fix this problem because when I Force Quit or either revert to last saved (this has happened to me twice now) it crashes Quark and the file is unreadable. I'm thinking of because this linking problem, it makes Quark crash.

I seem to be having a hell of a time with all google related things. About 50% of the time I can't get to the google search page and get the error message Safari can't open the page [URL] because Safari can't connect to the server. When I am able to get into gmail, I am constantly being disconnected from gchat, like every 5 minutes. When it disconnects, it will try to reconnect, most of the time unsuccessfully. I then get the error message, unable to reach gmail please check your internet connection. This happens no matter what browser I use. However, when I try to connect from my husband's PC (same network), everything is fine. I've tried emptying my safari cache, tried uninstalling and re-installing both safari and firefox, and I am out of ideas. Any ideas about what is going on, and how I might fix this issue. I searched through the google help, and there were similar problems posted (none recently), but no answers on how to solve the issue. This has been going on for about a week now, and it's driving me up a wall.

I was directed to use web forwarding, and I set that up over the weekend. However, though I am hosted through MobileMe, my personal domain link takes me to a blank page. There had been an under construction page. if I am using web forwarding, should I remove the personal domain from my Mobile Me preferences? Could that be the reason it won't work?

I have a new iMac and iPhone 4.0. All software is up to date and I have installed the free beta version of Mountain Lion which let me use iChat on my computer. Safari intermittently stops working. Mail won't access my mailboxes if Safari is running. Now iTunes won't find my iPhone when it's locked and in a dock charging. If I restart I can do 1 thing at a time, but I can't have Safari running and use Mail. I've emptied my cache, checked my passwords. It's none of that. By process of elimination, there is some kind of conflict between using multiple applications on the Internet at the same time. Sometimes after I've gone to several Internet sites Safari will stop working properly even though all other applications have been "quit".

If I send a msg from Apple Mail to i.e. Outlook Express. The same msg shows up with "clean" text formating. That will say, no formatting at all. See this screen: [URL:...] I have just gotten back to the Mac now from 10-11 months in hell with Windows-stuf, so I am really eager to get this fixed. I have a peculiar problem to which I have been unable to find a solution, despite searching far and wide on the Internet.
I access my company's microsoft exchange server email account through mail.app on my mac. In setting up this account, everything was detected easlity and I can send and receive mail without any issue, except one:
When I send an email, my name, in the From field, gets stripped as it gets sent. If I keep the mail as draft, I can see my email address in the From field, but when I finally send the email, that field gets stripped and is now blank.
So now, when I go back and look into my "sent" folder, the from field is blank.
This does not happen when I send email, via the same exchange account, from my iphone or ipad, only mail.app does this. This also does not happen when I send email through my yahoo or gmail account via mail.app.
I have two accounts on mail. When I send it through my business account it shows that it is going thru this account (at the bootom I select that it on my business account) but when I receive the e-mail it goes back to my hotmail account? Why is it switching over and how I can I get it to send with my business account?

i have checked in preferences pane - ensured that the new windows and new tabs open with "homepage" and set the homepage field to [URL]( i even manually typed it in and selected "set to current page" to make sure it was ok ). then i go onto facebook, quit safari, re-open it and .. it's the facebook page again!Â
i reset safari and this has no effect. it didnt always used to be like this, just recently.

Is there a way to set up e-mail accounts in my Mac mail that allow me to "send only" from them? For example, I have a couple e-mail accounts that I only use for commercial / e-commerce communication (airline tickets, eBay transactions, etc), but am otherwise not interested in setting up as an inbox because they simply flood with spam. Is there a way to set up Mail so that I can choose to send a message as me@xxxxx.com (rather than me@mac.com); WITHOUT adding an inbox for this account?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using the standard Mail app on my Macbook Pro with Lion OS X. I have 3 Hotmail accounts and at one point had all of them hooked up to the Mail app and receiving e-mails fine.The problem I've had is when trying to send an e-mail or reply to one via the Mail app. Even though I have 3 accounts and have got the 'Send messages from account of selected mailbox' selected in Preferences > Composing, it always used to send from only one of the 3. If I recall correctly it was the second account I had added that it always sent from.Recently I'd decided to try and sort this. I like to use one account for business e-mails and the other 2 for personal so when I recieve a business e-mail I really don't want it replied to from one of my personal e-mails. The simplest idea I had was to remove the 2 personal accounts (under Preferences > Accounts) and use the app purely for my business e-mails. However after removing them I now don't receive any e-mails for those accounts, but after testing a bit with a friend all e-mails are still being sent from an account no longer registered on the app.How can I sort this so I only have 1 account that I can send and recieve from??
