I have a macbook. 2007 late series. Just recently I have had issues with printing. When I try to print in the printer dialogue box it states 'all jobs stopped.' It doesn't seem to matter which printer I use. Also, just installed Adobe CS4. COuld this be the culprit?

OS X does not show me all the waiting jobs as it just shows each one drip by drip which causes the printer to print the unwanted print jobs. Can you tell me where is the queue stored in the file system? I need to get to the source to purge any remnants of waiting jobs.
View 2 Replies View Relatedwhen trying to print to ANY printer whether it be a network printer or a locally attached USB printer. The machine is as stated, an iBook G4. The OS is OS X 10.4.1. The printers involved are a Sharp ARM450n, a Sharp MX 2300 both networked and a Brother hl5150d, connected via USB. All printers show up in the printer dialogue box as installed, all of the latest drivers are installed and when I attempt to print, the system claims it printed, no matter what printer I send the print job to. I just don't get any documents. The print jobs just vanish! I have searched on this forum for a solution, not to mention googling Mac printer issues on the internet. I have searched high and low for a solution with no luck. I've tried stripping out all of the drivers and starting fresh. I've tried resetting the print system, I've tried appletalk/ethertalk, I've tried bonjour, I've tried tcp/ip printing, all to no avail. All of the other computers (an assortment of approximate 35 different Macs can ALL print to the printers with this one exception. The computer is hard wired to the network and can access the internet, I can ping the printers, ping other computers and I can also ping the computer that is having the print issues.

We have a 2007 white MacBook. It's connected to an HP all in one color laser printer, but we also want to connect a second laser printer. We've tried both an HP and a Samsung, which the boxes said were compatible but when hooked up and we try to print we keep getting a Printing Stopped message, even when we click on "Start Printing".
View 2 Replies View RelatedNot sure that this problem is with my Mac or not, but suddenly my printer stopped printing and a window opens that says that the printer is "off line". I unplugged the printer and rebooted the computer and re-plugged the printer in thinking that might cure the problem, but same message came up "printer off line". The printer shows up in the finder and I am at a loss as to a possible cure without having to buy a new printer.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently reinstalled my operating system (OS 10.4) from the original system disks in a vain attempt to stop a problem with Mail (it has started demanding my password repeatedly before it will send any mail). I then had to download and reinstall all the various upgrades since.
Since then it no longer recognizes my Epson SC740 printer. It won't let me install the driver from the original CD - it comes up with the error message "You cannot open the application 'Installer' because it is not supported on this system."
I am working with a friend who uses Microsoft Office 2011 on an iMac running 10.7.2. He is suddenly unable to print from Outlook. Choosing Print... from the File menu or clicking a print button produces no result at all - the normal print dialogue box does not appear. Previously he could print without a problem. He has no problem printing from Word in Office 2011.
We have updated Office to 14.1.4 through Microsoft Update. We have worked through the advice in the Microsoft support document 2409305 - backing up Outlook identities, and removing Oulook Preferences as advised there. The error remains. We then created a new identity and found we could print from that. So we followed the Microsoft advice to rebuild the Outlook identity database. We still cannot print from Outlook.
May iMac (OS 10.7.4) has suddenly stopped printing to my Epson CX4800 printer through Airport Extreme, though my MacBook (OS 10.5.8) continues to function just fine). The iMac will print if it is connected to the printer directly via USB. The iMac continues to connect to the Internet wirelessly. I've tried resetting the printer and ensuring the driver is up to date, but no joy.

Basically, I noticed this a few weeks ago. I noticed the hinge has basically always creaked, but I never took it in for the noise. This came to my attention only of recent and I am past my warranty. I emailed Steve, and he was really rude in my opinion.

The main problem I am currently having is that when I send multiple jobs to the printer, it enters pause mode between each job; I have to go into the printer queue and click Resume to print the next job.
I've removed and readded the printer countless times over the last six months and I worry that if I have to do the same again I'll just be confronted with yet another problem...

With an Airport Express-connected printer, is there any way to configure things such that:
- I can leave the Airport Express on (as a base station)
- I can leave the printer off by default (so as not to waste energy)
- I can select 'print' within an application
- The print job queues
- I can then switch on the printer and the job will begin processing
Is this possible with an Airport Express-connected printer? The problem is that the printer is a fair walk from my office and I have to walk there to switch it on and then walk back to print and then walk back to collect the print out.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI installed 10.5.7 yesterday. Immediately after the installation was complete, my Apple bluetooth keyboard stopped working. Went into Bluetooth system settings, and it said that there was no bluetooth hardware found... (it's built into the machine!!)...
Also, every time I start iTunes, it gives some weird error about Adobe Flash player. I'm not at home now so I don't have the exact wording of the error with me, sorry...
I've checked the used/free space GB, and out of 74, it is 45/30.
With 30GB free, shouldn't it be running normally ?
What could be causing it to run like this ?

I have an Epson printer connected to an old iMac. I have printer sharing turned on. I have been able to print from a Mac Book Pro on the same network (with the imac on), but NOW, for some reason, I can no longer print from the Mac Book.

I am trying to print wirelessly from my Macbook Pro to my Desktop running windows XP. The desktop is wired directly to the router and the printer, the macbook is wireless. I can enabled sharing on the printer on the desktop, and added the printer to my macbook. My problem is when I try to print It send's a signal to my desktop, the HP "ink level" pop up comes up, the printer shows spooling in the details then it disappears and never prints. I know I am close but have been messing with this for 2 days and I cant figure it out.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAll of a sudden out of nowhere, one, and only one PDF, will only print on 1/4 of a page. Everything else prints fine, other PDFs print to full pages, anything outside of Safari prints as it should--it's just this one PDF in Safari, it's driving me crazy. I've logged out, logged back in, restarted my MBP, even reset safari--and nothing at all. All printer settings/scaling are as they should be, and the preview shows a full page document, but what comes out of the printer is 1/4 page. Here's the PDF: It prints fine in FF, but for some reason it's coming out super light/blurry/grayscale/crappy, so it's no good.

It's a normal inkjet Epson and it's connected via USB to my desktop which is running Vista Home Premium. Is there anyway I can somehow forward the document to my desktop and it'll start printing? Oh yes, my router is standard, it doesn't have any USB ports. Also anyone know any wireless HDDs? Time Capsules rather pricey especially in the current climate.

I'm trying to connect my leopard macbook to a Canon Pixma MP210 that his hooked up to an XP machine. Sharing is enabled in XP on the printer and I can successfully add the printer to the mac in system preferences. I've downloaded the proper drivers from Canon's website and selected them for the printer. The problem is that when I try to execute a print job, the print queue comes up and hangs on status "printing."
Also, on the XP machine, the print queue recognizes a job is being requested but the status hangs on "spooling." The document never actually prints. Finally after a couple minutes, the print queue in the mac has an error stating: "Error Number : 311 Printer is in use or an error has occurred. If an error has occurred, eliminate the cause of the error."
I will be off to college this fall and want to set up my macbook to print to an as yet unpurchased MFC wirelessly I have talked to school IT people and my dorm is a hard wired acces point only and if I try to use an airport as a hub it will screw up the connection. any way I want to maybe use a bluetooth dongle setup or something like that to print in the dorm. Anyone do this.. is this the wrong approach is it really slow, (4mbit vs usb 2.0 420mbit) or is the printer pipeline unable to process large data packets anyway... I have talked to several people (apple tech, Hp tech, dorm tech) and three answers.

I have downloaded the drivers from the Samsung site which enable me to print via USB and also to connect the printer to the home wireless. On a MACBook Air I've managed to install the printer using the IP address. I can then print from the MacBook Pro by sending it through the MBAir as the printer shows up as connected to the MBAir. However, when I try to install the printer to the MBPro using the IP address I'm told that Apple doesn't have the necessary software. Consequently, I'm unable to print directly from the MBPro to the printer.

got my self a new macbook pro and a time capsule, but when i try to hook it up I can't seem to get it to print wirelessly with my HP Photosmart printer.Have the printer connected to time capsule by usb cable, my macbook recognizes the printer by make and model, but then says the printer is not hooked up.
