View 3 RepliesApple published a report url...that states system 10.6.8 supports the HP LaserJet 4MV. If this is accurate information, I would like to know where the drivers are located. I have spent more than three hours with your technical support and no one has a clue how to make this combination work.

I upgraded to Snow Leopard and now my printer scanner won't work. It says it cannot recognize my computer. I have installed a few updates available and restarted and it still won't work.

My HP C4680 scanner/printer used to work with my Mac. The printer still works fine, but after upgrading to Mac OS X 10.6.8 the scanner is no longer working. I receive a message - scanner not found.

We have a Xerox WorkCentre M118 which used to print perfectly ok until we upgraded to Mac OS10.6 and now cannot see the printer on the network or print to it. Xerox do not support this printer for 10.6.

Anyone else having this problem?
My HP A-I-O printer is not working under SL. Tried deleting the printer in Prefs. and reinstalling the drivers a bazillion times. I even went out and bought a *new* HP printer and I'm experiencing the same problems.
I just purchased a Canon MG5220. I have installed all of the updated drivers for 10.7.3. The scanner is working wirelessly, but I can't add my printer.

I have a HP Photosmart B110 printer/scanner and I'm running OSX 10.7 Lion, I have no dramas printing but the scanner is not recognised. If I go to System preferences> Print & Scan, it shows the printer but won't show the scanner!! I obviously want and need to use the scanner but am unable!

I have a canon mx700 printer.I just upgraded to snow leopard 10.6.8 and now my printer is no longer working. This is probably the 50th time I have had this problem. It always occurs whenever I update my apple software. I have tried reseting my settings, updating my drives and trying to connect the printer directly into my computer and over my network without any success. Upon resetting my drives I keep getting this error a communication error has occurred.

I know that snow leopard was supposed to make scanner sharing easier, but this just isn't happening for me!! Its really odd.
I have two imacs (24" and 27" brand new one). The scanner is hooked up to the 27" imac and both computers are running 10.6.2
The 24 is networked to the 27. We share files and can share printers. I have had no problem with me printing to his computer and him printing to mine.
We also can both move files back and forth to each other without an issue.
We have opened the system preferences on the 27" imac and selected "scanner sharing" and then we can see the scanner that is hooked to that computer and selected it. Then we closed the lock icon to keep it that way. The preferences should be all set.
HOWEVER, i still can not import from the scanner and can not see the scanner from my computer.
ALSO, when we open IMAGE CAPTURE on the computer that is directly connected to that scanner, I can see the scanner under devices, but it does not show under shared devices.
It used to be that you can set the sharing in the image caputer program - apparently now you can not.. but in trying to make it easier, it seems something got lost.
I just read through three pages of google results when searching this forum and nothing.. just a load of threads saying that Snow Leopard CAN, in fact, share a scanner..
My computer cannot see my scanner.I am using a UMAX 1220U flatbed scanner. It's connected by a USB cable. It has worked in the past with both Graphic Converter and Image Capture Version 6.0.1 (428).It has never worked with VueScan. Now, today, it won't work at all.Image Capture reports that no camera or scanner is connected. For drivers I use the SANE backends and frontends that I got from sane-project.org/intro.html. When Image Capture works, I see the SANE icon up in the "Devices" section of the column on the left. When Image Capture does not work, I do not see the SANE caption there.I have experimented with the USB cable, unplugging it and replugging it at both the computer and the scanner. I have moved the cable to different ports on the computer without success.
I have tried unplugging the power cord to the scanner for a while and then replugging the power cable. That has worked in the past, but not in the last two days.Today I redownloaded and reinstalled the SANE software again. It did not work.System Profiler does not list the scanner in the USB Device Tree.

I updated to Snow Leopard. I have an HP 6310 All-In-One. The scanner portion worked fine prior to the update, now an "Unknown Error" constantly occurs preventing me from scanning documents. Image Capture doesn't even recognize there is a scanner available. I have downloaded the most recent driver from HP, (2007), but it still does not work. Will I have to wait for HP to build a new driver specifically for Leopard?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have Snow Leopard Mac OS 10.6.8, and I am trying to install my multifunction Canon printer. It detects and prints fine, but it won't detect my scanner or fax. I have no hard line for the fax - I use CableVision's wireless router for phone and internet. Is there a way for me to use either function (scanner or fax) with my Mac? I have an older Canon stand-alone scanner, Canoscan N1240U, and it won't detect that either...

I just upgraded to Snow Leopard (OS 10.6.1). I have an HP DeskJet F4280 All-In-One. It used to work great under 10.5.x, but now it will print fine but not scan.
If I launch HP Device Manager, and double-click Scan Picture, HP Scan Pro window opens, but I get the following error: Sorry, scanner could not be initialized (Scanner not found.).
If I press the hardware Scan button on the top of the unit itself, the power light blinks rapidly for about 10 seconds, then reverts to its normal state, and nothing else happens.
If I launch Image Capture 6.0(424) I get this error: No camera or scanner connected.
Under System Preferences>Print & Fax>Scan a window opens that reads HP Deskjet F4200 series and I click on Scanner, but it says No scanner selected.
However, System Profiler lists Deskjet F4200 series under USB High-Speed Bus, and, as already mentioned, the printer works fine.
I have an old Epson Stylus CX5400 all-in-one which works fine for my organization's occasional scanning needs (that's all we use it for). However, it's big and bulky and I'd rather replace it with something small that's more convenient to store and transport. I could probably get $50 for it on eBay.
What replacement do you recommend? I've checked out Epson's v30 and v300 and Canon's LiDE 100 so far. Tiger, Leopard, and Snow Leopard compatibility would be best, though only the latter two are essential. I'd like not to spend more than $80.
I have downloaded Canon driver 10.51.2.0. I tried Navigator Ex 3.1 . All Apple updates have been run. I tried removing printer and bonjour scanner and reinstalling. All ng. I cannot launch from " Solutions Menu ". Printer does print. If I try and scan from image capture it scans very very slow and is not accurate. I tried connecting with a usb cable and not using the wifi. Still ng.

I am using an HP Color Laserjet 3505n. Will snow leopard work with this printer?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI thought I'd upgrade from 10.4.11 to 10.5.8, Leopard. All went well except now I can't load the print driver correctly to use all the printer facilities. Yes, I went to the Xerox site, downloaded the drivers then through System Preferences looked for the printer to add. Can't see anything that looks like a Xerox, nothing in Appletalk. Go to more printers and it gives me the option of HP IP Printing, two Epsons and a Canon under auto. So I look at Manual. I did get it to work manually by typing in the IP address, but that doesn't allow me to use any of the features of the printer, just the basic print. I did note that there is something under Windows in the System Preferences, but I'm loathe to fiddle with this until I know what I'm doing. I'm at my wits end. Otherwise it's back to Tiger on my backup which will cause other issues. G4 PowerPC, 1.5Ghz: 2GB DDR SDRAM
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've browsed the site for awhile now, but this is the first time I've had to post.
I recently tossed my old printer due to the scanner going bad, and picked up a new one. It's an Epson NX400. I've gone through the install disk, done what needs to be done, but I've got a problem.
Whenever I go to add it in the printer utility window, all I can do is highlight it. To clarify, it's showing up just fine under the 'Printer Name' section, and the 'Name' and 'Location' both fill in with the appropriate information when highlighted, but the 'Add' button doesn't become selectable.
It forces me to look through the 'Print Using' window, where the desired printer is nowhere to be found. This also happened when I tried hooking up an HP printer.
I've been scratching my head going through every support site I could find, but I'm giving up. Anyone familiar with a fix?
mainly to be used as a color scanner and to print coupons.

Esteemed List: I have an Epson Stylus CX6000 copier-printer-scanner. I have a newish Intel 2.13 GHz MacBook, OS 10.6.2 (Snow Leopard) with 2 GBs SDRAM and PhotoShop Elements 8. I migrated all my compatible software from a G4 12" PowerBook running OS 10.3.9, including the Epson software package - printer drivers, scanner, etc. - and the printer/copier works fine but neither Elements nor the laptop recognize the scanner software. The Epson site has a "complete" driver update for Snow Leopard that supposedly covers these issues. There is a warning that some parts of the drivers require OS 10.5, which this laptop never had. My question: is it safe to download and install these updated drivers? Do you have any suggestions?I do a fair amount of scanning work and need to access the Epson.
White 2.13 GHz Macbook, OS 10.6.2, 2 GBs SDRAM; Epson Stylus CX6000, Epson Scan 2.90 software; Epson Printer Utility and Epson Printer Utility 2.
Anyone care to offer a recommendation for a Mac-compatible all-in-one (printer/copier/scanner/ +/-fax)?
I am thinking about the Canon PIXMA MX860. My only concern about it is I currently have a (much) older Canon that uses Canon's MP Navigator 2.0 software and I find it somewhat clunky and buggy (and the included OCR is crappy).
Curious if anyone knows if the MX860 comes with better Mac software. Or if there are better alternatives to this all-in-one.
I need to find a good scanner / printer for an Intel MAC for my COO, laser if possible but not necessary. I'm more interested in something that has scanning software or can be used by Adobe Acrobat to scan PDF's etc. Something that won't need all kinds of third party to actually use the scanner.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an hp photosmart 4200 that is plugged into an airport base station.
One problem though... When I scan something I have to break out my laptop and plug it into the printer directly to get the scan. The printer, as far as I can tell won't send out the scan via the airport.
If I buy the new photosmart with wifi & Bluetooth and put it in the other room will it send my scans to my iMac in the other room?
Sounds like it should but I've yet to see that work.
I can print wireless but I can not scan wireless. Why? I am connected by wire from the canon 490 direct to my airport so why is it the scanner will not work? Can anyone explain ?

"Photoshop CS" and "Acrobat 6.0 Standard" suddenly stopped working in my iMac, apparently after I upgraded it to MacOS 10.6.8 (the latest version of Snow Leopard). Both programs had worked normally until that OS upgrade. I deleted Photoshop CS and tried to re-install it from the original CD, but the installation never proceeds because I get an error message entitled: "Install Adobe Photoshop CS quit unexpectedly". This is the full error message:
Process: LaunchCFMApp [1516]
Path: /Volumes/Adobe(R) Photoshop(R) CS/Adobe(R) Photoshop(R) CS/Install Adobe Photoshop CS.app/Contents/MacOS/Install Adobe Photoshop CS

A few days ago I finally upgraded my iMac G4 (Flatpanel) from 10.4.9 to 10.4.11. I had not printed or scanned anything since then, but today I needed to do both, and they don't work. I think it has something to do with the upgrade because they were working just fine before that.
The printer is an Epson Stylus 777i
The Scanner is an Epson Perfection 640U
What could have changed, and how can I get my Mac and peripherals to work together again?
