OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: Xerox WorkCentre M118 Not Printing From 10.6.8?
Mar 23, 2012
We have a Xerox WorkCentre M118 which used to print perfectly ok until we upgraded to Mac OS10.6 and now cannot see the printer on the network or print to it. Xerox do not support this printer for 10.6.
My office just received a xerox Workcentre 7345 and our iMac's can't print from Adobe CS3. They can print from every other program, just not Adobe. The computer I use is a PowerPC G5 and I don't have any issues with it. All of the Mac's are setup the same, have the same operating system and we are on a shared network. We also use the Accounting Feature where you enter a code into the print dialogue box. I am perplexed. I called Xerox tech support and they have no idea what it could be either.
I have an iMac running OS X 10.6.8 that is connected to three printers. The printer I constantly have problems with is an epson photo stylus 1400. Whenever I try to print a full size 8.5 x 11" page using illustrator, indesign, or from a PDF it shrinks the content by 50%. Some of my prints require borderless printing, something this printer is capable of doing. Regardless of printing borderless or with a border it still shrinks all my prints. All my drivers are up to date, and I make sure that the correct settings are used everytime (actual size, US letter borderless...etc)
I have a desktop Mac that I used Migration Assistant to transfer my user setting etc. prior to selling my MacBook. All works well, except that everytime I try to print a document it pauses while looking for a shared network volume for a while before coming back saying "Connection Failed to MacBook". I deleted all printers and resent printers from preferences to add them back manually and repaired permissions however the problem is still happening everytime I try to print a document. Its as though its looking for the old MacBook.
I thought I'd upgrade from 10.4.11 to 10.5.8, Leopard. All went well except now I can't load the print driver correctly to use all the printer facilities. Yes, I went to the Xerox site, downloaded the drivers then through System Preferences looked for the printer to add. Can't see anything that looks like a Xerox, nothing in Appletalk. Go to more printers and it gives me the option of HP IP Printing, two Epsons and a Canon under auto. So I look at Manual. I did get it to work manually by typing in the IP address, but that doesn't allow me to use any of the features of the printer, just the basic print. I did note that there is something under Windows in the System Preferences, but I'm loathe to fiddle with this until I know what I'm doing. I'm at my wits end. Otherwise it's back to Tiger on my backup which will cause other issues. G4 PowerPC, 1.5Ghz: 2GB DDR SDRAM
After installing snow leopard on my 2.8 GHz 8-core Mac Pro, I cannot do duplex printing. I have also installed the 10.6.1 update. I presume snow leopard thinks my printer driver is up to date, since I have not received the HP printer driver update to install. I have even downloaded the HP Printer Drivers for Mac OS X v10.6 update from the Apple Support downloads site, but I get the following "error message" prior to the installation completion: System extension cannot be used The system extension "/System/Library/Extensions/hpPlugInInit.kext" was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it or contact the product's vendor for an update.
There was a mention elsewhere of a check box in "print & fax" in system preferences to enable duplex printing. Unfortunately, I cannot find this check box.
I have a PDF that I scanned in myself and the first time I printed it it printed just the way it was supposed to. The next time I opened up the file in preview it looked normal on my screen but when I went to print it the output in the printer had the colors inverted. I have tried printing from preview and adobe acrobat and it printed the same the blacks came out white and the whites came out black. So I tried printing it from a windows computer and the file printed as it should, the colors were normal not inverted.
How can I purge my print settings via .plist or other so I can change my paper size? No matter what I select, preview application 'refreshes' my print values to a fixed 8.5x11 that applies a second border to my pdf and pushes everything down the page. Borderless 8.5x11 just won't stay as the value even though my printer has done this before. Worked fine prior, but now it just will not take a new page size.
I have a pdf that I must print to buy a home. It will not print as is. I shot screen shots, brought them into Photoshop, made them jpgs and adjusted the gamma to make them very black and white. Â
It helped but the pages cannot be read. There is plenty of ink in the printer.Â
I need to send this paperwork tomorrow with a check...Â
Printing from any program, Two-Sided Printing on the print prompt screen is grayed out. There's no reason for this, as my desktop Windows does double-sided all the time. I've found a lot of discussions in the Leopard forum about this problem, but none of them used my system or my printer and I couldn't find similar solutions. I'm running 10.6.8., trying to print from Chrome specifically, wirelessly connected to my printer.Â
Since I updated my Imac to snowleopard, there is no more printing on the good old epson stylusphoto1200 incjetprinter. even after downloading abaout 1 gigabyte (or 2) of Epson-drivers (from the apple-site) nothing works (" you need to update the software of your printer".. , but everything is updated on softweáre-update..)
Info: epson incjetprinter, Mac OS X (10.6.8), stylus photo 1200
I have a xerox phaser 6110 wire connected to my router. My imac is also wire connected to my router. I have installed the latest printer driver on my imac but when trying to print it does not respond. I suspect it's something to do with telling the mac where to look for the printer but my mac skills are very low.
I have 2 Xerox 7345 copier/printers in our office and none of the macs will print to them. Xerox claioms they are compatible and I have downloaded the drivers they supply. When I go to print, the mac looks like it is printing, but nothing prints out. Other printers work fine from the same macs. The mac on my desk is a power PC G4 running OS X 10.4.11.
My students often like to use a document version of my Keynote presentations. Since most of them are using a PC, I print a PDF document version (the one with 4 slides per page and lines to take notes). Only the lines have disapeared. When I check the appropriate box in the print dialog window, the lines do not appear in the preview, nor do they print in the actual document. My problems have arrised soon after I went from Leopard to Snow Leopard. Does this have to do with Keynote itself or with my recent update with Snow Leopard?
I'm working an a MacBookPro, using OS X 10.6.1 and iLife 09.
I've tried everything, and cannot get my 7400 Xerox Phaser to print any Adobe document. I'm using CS5. I've downloaded drivers, driver updates, driver patches. I've reinstalled the Adobe programs. I do get a "communications error" on some other programs, but they still print. I used to get this message with the Adobe programs, but they were still printing until yesterday. Xerox says it's a "Mac thing." Adobe's site is absolutely with no support?
I have a Aluminium MacBook and for about a month or so it has been sharing files with my XP desktop PC easily. So I decided that I wanted to print wirelessly to my printer (which is connected to my XP PC via USB) from my MacBook. When I set up the printer, it finds it and everything, so i go to Word and try and print a Word Document. On the jobs manager on my XP PC, it says the document name is: 'Remote Downlevel Document' and it says spooling, printing, the either sits there forever or just vanishes. My Printer is a Canon PIXMA iP1800.
I have a Brother 5280DW printer which is supposed to offer duplex printing. I have an IMAC running the latest Leopard, but there seems to be no option anywhere I can find to choose duplex (double sided) printing...
I am desperate to find the correct driver for the p205b docuprint printer I know that the one on the fuji site is wrong and you need to install a driver for another model as I found this in a forum last year and successfully installed on another mac but now I don't know where I got the info from.
In windows while surfing the web you can right click on a picture of something and it'll give you the option to print picture. Is there no easy way to do this in Mac OS X? The easieast way i've found was to copy and paste it into a word file then print.
In Tiger, there was an option to use Windows Printing via Samba. It was accessed, when adding a printer, by holding down the Option key while selecting "more printers"
This no longer brings up the necessary options in Leopard.
know how to set up Windows Printing via Samba in Leopard?
I am having trouble getting my daughters new MacBook Pro to print to her Epson CX3810 all-in-one. We are trying to use the gutenprint drivers since Epson doesn't support this printer for Mac. All we get is the message "waiting for device". She has been able to get the scanner to work from XP under parallels. The system version is 10.5.4
Is there another driver out there we need to be using?
I have just setup a Time Capsule to host a local wireless network to replace an older wireless/wired mixture.
The network works a treat, and our four office computers all pick it up without issue. I have plugged a USB Epson Inkjet printer into the TC's USB port, and all the networked computers can print to it without issue.
However, we also have a trusty LaserWriter 8500 that we use. I plugged this into the first ethernet (LAN) port on the TC , and expected just to be able to add it in the Print & Fax Preference pane. Sadly though, this is not the case. The printer cannot be found in the Default Browser, or the AppleTalk tab (AppleTalk has been turned on for AirPort).
