Feb 14, 2012I keep having the screen turn blue and then suddenly go back to normal. It's a quick flash, totally random, repetitive during operation, no noises, and nothing else is interrupted. It does not restart, log off, or try to. Is it about to die?

Dec 21, 2009I'm sure this should be simple but I can't figure it out.
I have my iMac connected to my TV and am using Plex to watch stuff on the TV.
What I'd like to do is turn my imac screen off without turning off the second monitor output (i.e. tv) as the imac screen is a bit bright/distracting (even on lowest brightness) when watching in the dark.

Mar 17, 2009I was trying to install Windows XP Pro, but for some reason the it wasn't showing another HDD to install Windows on. So I quit the install, and restarted my computer. Now all that happens is the normal grey screen appears (with no Apple logo), then it goes to a black screen and has the blinking cursor (Kinda like DOS).

Sep 29, 2010Over the last few months there have begun to be hundreds of blue horizontal lines running across the screen and the sound fragmented, with the Mac crashing over 5 times a day. Normally, I would restart and the problem would be OK for a while.
However, now when I turn on hundreds of horizontal black/green lines appear in colums, the normal apple symbol comes up with the spinning loading item. Then a blue screen will appear and the normal log on profile selector doesn't appear. Then after a while the blue screen is covered the thousands of these black/green lines.

This does not happen when I boot my Windows (Bootcamp) partition, so I assume this is some kind of OSX driver error. This started to happen only after I installed the latest patch (10.9.3). May 8, 2010I'm not entirely sure how long my iMac has been doing this, maybe two weeks? When I try to wake it from sleep, the screen does not turn on. At all. At first I thought this was because my mouse and keyboard might not be functioning correctly, naturally the only remedy was to turn the computer off with the power button and to restart it (which took an abnormally long time). Today I remote connected with Back to my Mac screen sharing and it did not turn on either. I know it was awake because when I pressed the brightness buttons on the keyboard, it responded on my MBA's view of the screen. Normally, Back to my Mac does turn the screen back on. Anyone else have the same problem? It doesn't seem to matter WHEN it goes to sleep either. I've tried resetting the PRAM already and no dice.

Jan 25, 2007My parents recently bought an iMac. Yesterday my mom was playing a game when the computer froze. Neither force quit or holding the power button was doing anything so in her frustration she unplugged the system. Today, after plugging in the system again, it won't turn on.
I press the power button on the side of the wireless keyboard and the green light on the keyboard turns on for about 3 sec and then starts flashing. No fans start up and the screen does nothing.

Jun 2, 2014This situation began when I put my Imac on sleep. After, the screen turned on in black whit the cursor but I couldn't do anything.
Then to rebooted the machine, the apple logo and sound began fine but the screen turned off, so moving the mouse the screen turned on in black with cursor.
I'd tried many ways, resetting the PRAM, SMC, repairing the disk and permission, analyzing hardware, repairing fsck files.
Suddenly, when I entered in Verbose mode, mi imac brought into user choose screen and worked fine, but when I shut down and tried to start my mac in the next day, it didn´t work again.

Jan 16, 2010I have myself a unibody macbook 13'' and was searching for a unibody macbook pro 13" because of the longer battery life. On an auction site I've found a company that sells a unibody macbook pro 13" with a TFT screen and a resolution of 1280 x 800.
Now I have searched on the internet, but I couldn't find anything about a TFT screen on a 13" unibody. My question is: what is the difference between a normal LED-screen and a TFT-screen. Should I go for it of is the quality much worse?

Jun 15, 2012This morning my MacBook Pro will not boot to the normal Lion screen. Pressing the Alt key during the start process I do get to the Macintosh HD, Recovery HD, Choose Network screen. The mouse moves around, the keyboard works, obviously the screen works, it appears to connect to the network. I did notice when I double taped on the mouse pad it didn't work. What should I do next?
