My pops brought his macbook (older one) cross the boarder and on the way back i guess they took it apart and now when hes using it the screen goes from normal to random colors ( like the white noise things on tv, but colors) i will take pictures.

I notice that the screen on my macbook air is not as sharp as my 4 yr old sony vaio s460. Is this the nature of the screen? I read chinese and there is a huge difference in sharpness with my vaio for small fonts compared to the air
View 24 Replies View RelatedIt just started this afternoon, every 15-20 minutes the screen goes blank once for less than a second and comes back. I haven't upgraded to snow leopard yet, haven't changed anything recently. It's only a few months old so should I take it to an apple store or is there something simple that might fix it?

I am using an Apple display port to DVI adapter to run the MBP in clamshell mode with my Samsung 221BW monitor. On websites or programs with a dark grey background, the screen flickers. The resolution is set to 1680x1050 (native) and 60Hz.
Does anybody else have this problem? Any ideas as to fixing it?
I have a MBA 13" late 2012. It was working fine and suddenly one day exactly left half of the screen went bright and right half was normal.There was no drop, nothing. It's exactly straight half line in between the screen. Where left part of the screen is brighter.

I have myself a unibody macbook 13'' and was searching for a unibody macbook pro 13" because of the longer battery life. On an auction site I've found a company that sells a unibody macbook pro 13" with a TFT screen and a resolution of 1280 x 800.
Now I have searched on the internet, but I couldn't find anything about a TFT screen on a 13" unibody. My question is: what is the difference between a normal LED-screen and a TFT-screen. Should I go for it of is the quality much worse?
does apple macbook pro contain HD led screen or is it just normal? well i know that the laptop comes with dvd rom and not bly ray but still if i have got HD videos and i play those videos. will they play in HD mode? and if yes than how many p does it support? 240 , 480 , 720 or 1080 p?

This morning my MacBook Pro will not boot to the normal Lion screen. Pressing the Alt key during the start process I do get to the Macintosh HD, Recovery HD, Choose Network screen. The mouse moves around, the keyboard works, obviously the screen works, it appears to connect to the network.  I did notice when I double taped on the mouse pad it didn't work. What should I do next?

suddenly my screen color changed to negative/black on white. but when i inverted the screen did not back to normal quality. the trace or shadows remains when i move the window. when i log out it turns again to negative form. and when i log in it seems back to normal. but it does not have the same quality and sharpness.Â

View 7 Replies View RelatedI was trying to install Windows XP Pro, but for some reason the it wasn't showing another HDD to install Windows on. So I quit the install, and restarted my computer. Now all that happens is the normal grey screen appears (with no Apple logo), then it goes to a black screen and has the blinking cursor (Kinda like DOS).
View 14 Replies View RelatedSo in a half-drunken stupor I dropped/threw my MBA on a mattress. The problem was that it was 'open', with the screen at its normal up position of maybe 135-degrees-or-so from the keyboard. Upon landing on the mattress, something in the hinge literally snapped (it sounded like a plasticky snap) and the screen went all the way backwards until it was flat - think 180 degree angle between keyboard and screen. Nothing seems to be malfunctioning yet. It's working just as before, except now there's a bigger tilt-back angle for the screen... I can tilt it back literally as much as I want. My question to you guys, assuming someone else has done this, is whether in the long run it's going to bite me in the ass. Because something definitely broke, I'm not sure whether what broke was 'important'.
View 24 Replies View RelatedThis started very suddenly today. I was in finder looking through some pictures when my screen suddenly turned blue. After a second, it faded back to normally, so I continued what I was doing. After about 5 minutes, it happened again, but faded back. It's be less than a half-hour, I haven't touched the computer but the screen is turning blue than fading back every half a minute or so. Every now and then, the screen stays blue for about 20 seconds.

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy 2010 13" Pro seems to have some blue/magenta light leaking from the bottom of the screen. This is only visible with the brightness turned up and against a black background (i.e. when watching a letterbox movie). It's quite different from the "typical" white light leak that I've witnessed on other lcds. Would this be "normal"?
Also - and this may seem like nit-picking - but my caps lock key feels a bit flimsier than the rest of the keys. Again - is this "normal"?
I was trying to type a degree sign on a web page and it enlarged by screen. Now it jumps all over the place and is too large. How can I fix this?

Over the last few months there have begun to be hundreds of blue horizontal lines running across the screen and the sound fragmented, with the Mac crashing over 5 times a day. Normally, I would restart and the problem would be OK for a while.
However, now when I turn on hundreds of horizontal black/green lines appear in colums, the normal apple symbol comes up with the spinning loading item. Then a blue screen will appear and the normal log on profile selector doesn't appear. Then after a while the blue screen is covered the thousands of these black/green lines.
I have tried esc, command + control + F, holding down the control key and scrolling with the mouse, tapping on the mouse, and making a pinching motion on the mouse. How do I get my screen back to normal size?

During the boot-sequence the screen of my Imac 27" flashes green (once), then returns to normal. As per title... Loud grinding sound, goes away on restart, seems to be happening more consistently in the past few days (noticed it last week for first time). The MBP is 3 years old I have an appointment at apple store for tomorrow, im pretty sure they'll just say that the right fan needs to be replaced (applecare warranty ended a month ago of course)
View 5 Replies View RelatedOnce anyone gets to test the new MBA out (next month?), if you can please post the results on heat issues. Eg the initial MBA in many cases was only usable at 50% CPU/GPU (for more than a few minutes) due to heat issues. Does the new one fix it? If so, it is effectively more than double the speed.. more like 3-4x faster if that makes sense. If GPU is much faster AND heat issues are fixed, this could be a huge performance boost..
View 5 Replies View RelatedReceived my i7 MBP yesterday, and try to run parallels, TVU player, safari, aperture side by side, and it's not over heat at all, just felt slightly warm above the CPU, it's amazing! especially compare to my 1st gen MBP. I don't have to use my coolermaster cooling pad at all.
