Since upgrading to Mac OS X Snow Leopard my computer does not recognize my printer (HP Color LaserJet 2600n) nor will it print. What can I do? I can't afford another printer already.
View 2 RepliesI'm trying to add my printer, a HP Color LaserJet 2600n, to my MacBook Pro running OS X Lion via local wifi. However, the MacBook can find the printer, but somehow not connect with it; it's shown as inactive or just does not print.
There might be a problem with the driver (as in the beginning there were some pop-up warnings shown concerning this issue); I already downloaded the latest drivers manually (because Apple could not find them directly).
Is there even a way to use such an "old" printer? Are the drivers compatible with Lion?

I've set up a static IP on the printer and hooked it up to a D-Link router. I see the printer in my system, but printing fails each time. It appears there's a software glitch of some sort.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using a mid 2011 iMac 21 inch running Mavericks 10.9.4. Processor is Intel Core i5. Memory is 4GB 1333MHz DDR3. I have had a HP Color LaserJet 2600n connected since I bought the iMac new in November 2011. The printer continued to work after I upgraded from Lion. Thinking that the printer was not working I recently deleted the drivers. It simply turned out that its USB cable had become disconnected. I have since tried to reinstal it through Printer and Scanner Preferences but the iMac does not recognize it. The HP driver download page offers drivers for Lion but not for Mavericks, even though a (different) HP summary page of available drivers claims that that 2600n is supported by Mavericks.

I just added a Time Capsule to my network and my printer was working fine this morning. Now Lion says it is not connected and when I attempt to download the software from Apple it says it's not available at this time.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a pre-Intel iMac G5, running OS 10.5.8. I have been using an HP LaserJet P3005, connected with a USB2 cable, with no problems. The fuser got "muddy" on the 3005 so I bought a new HP LaserJet P2035n. I've loaded and reloaded the printer software from the provided CD, downloaded the driver software from the HP support website, but the computer doesn't recognize the printer. Called HP support and everything they suggested came up empty; they told me to exchange the printer for a another new one, but I get the same results with it. I'm using the same USB cable I used with the 3005 -- it worked perfectly with that printer as recently as this morning. What's wrong with my iMac or setup?

I have been on the phone to HP for days they are blaming my computer but really it doesn't sound right... Brand new iMac, and a brand new CM1312... I have plugged it directly into the back of the computer via the USB the computer sees it and there is no problem with printing... BUT using the HP Scanner software it cannot see the printer via USB... I used the HP Set Up Wizard and when it comes to the screen asking to find the USB or Network printer it can't see it under USB, EVEN THOUGH IT PRINTS VIA USB... Has anyone had this issue before? Am I better off using an ethernet cord?

Amazon didn't have any information about compatibility and I just assumed it would work (a mistake, obviously). I was ready to return it but a friend of mine pointed out that it might work with Airport Express. I have Airport Express and it would be great if it would work. I don't know why it would though. If anyone knows anything about this, please lemme know. Also, if anyone knows any other way (except for downloading windows on my mac) that I can make my printer work.

I spent the better part of the day researching how to get my HP LaserJet 4m Plus to work with the new OS and got nowhere. Can anyone tell me what I can do to get the printer to work with the new OS? The printer may be old but it functions flawlessly and only has about 50,000 impressions made, so it still has lots of life. I have it hooked up via ethernet and the cable is run under the floor to the other side of the office so adapting a serial/USB would not be doable or practical. I don't have the money to blow on a new printer so I would really like to make this work somehow. Any help would be much appreciated.

Before the 10.7.4 update, my HP Color LaserJet CM2320nf multi fucntion printer worked just fine with the built in OS X print drivers. I had the printer shared on the network via my iMac (2011) over USB and other devices could print to it via Bonjour.
As soon as the 10.7.4 update hit, printing has been an issue. Whenever a print job is sent to the printer over the network the printer displays a 'Please Insert Paper' warning that has to be cleared on the device itself before the print will continue, even though the printer is full of paper... This does not happen when printing from the iMac itself, only when using the iMac to share the printer.
10.7.4 seems to have been a really buggy update as it has caused problems with Wifi becoming unusable until the iMac is rebooted.

I've downloaded the driver for HP LaserJet m1319f MFP and the printer worked fine when I connect it directly to my MacBook (using USB connection).The problem is that printer is supposed to be connected to our office network users through a TP-Link Print Server (TL-PS110U). I've tried to use AppleTalk to connect to that print server but my MacBook only recognized that HP printer as a HP Fax machine and I can't print anything.

before switching to Mac, I used an "X-Rite Eye One Display 2" color meter device with software. You can find them most places like Amazon for about $150. The device should still work, but I can't find any software for it for the Mac. After going to the X-Rite web site, I could find no software at all for the Mac as it is only windows based.
Surely someone out there has used a color meter such as this one as they are quite popular especially for graphics artists that use professional graphic monitors. I am hoping someone can tell me how to use my color meter (USB), what software for Mac Leopard I need and how to save the color profile in the Mac OS.
