How to batch add an intro, ending, and watermark to multiple videos and be able to export multiple videos using FCPX?
I can do this in Premiere Pro, but I have switched to Apple for almost everything since 2000 and hate to go back to (ack, spit, cough) anything else.
Automator blows. I have worked for two days on this and can not make automator put a simple jpg image as a watermark on a selected bunch of PDF files and then save them as the same file name. This seems to be the consensus on the net too.
Any programs you can reccomend that would make this easy for me to do? I have to do over 500 files and there is no way I am doing this by hand.
If I were to use SnapzPro to capture video of my screen (this is not DV related), what software could I use to add a very simple, slightly transparent watermark image to every frame of the video? Really, the fact that I'm using SnapzPro doesn't matter, but I mention it to say that I am not working with digital video that I shot with a camera, just video screen captures.
Also, what software could I use to add a simple, static image to both the beginning and end of the video. This would be something like a title screen that starts and ends the movie, and lasts about three seconds.
I'm not looking for professional software, and prefer to avoid it, in fact. I just want something to get both of these seemingly simple tasks done. Something free would be great. If I have to use two pieces of software, one for each task, that's fine, too. I just want to know people's thoughts so I get something worth using.
I am a computer knowledge lightweight and I need help with this one. I have a 1 year old 24" iMac and every time I open videos with a .wmv ending, the machine downloads them but all I get is gibberish text. Do I need a program to open them? It seems like everyone sends me videos with .wmv

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to batch-extract a large folder of *.rar archives which all have the same password without having to manually enter the password each time. To this end I have managed to install the popular extraction utility 'unrar' and use it via Terminal.
I think I've gotten a handle on using the switches etc, as I have managed to successfully extract one file, without creating a subdirectory, and without having to enter the password (apart from in the single command, obviously...). The next part, applying the 'unrar' command to all 578 files, is proving more difficult..
Is there an app that can batch convert multiple video files? I found one called mpegstream clip which is good, but it seems to only do one at a time, it there a feature in it that can do more than one at a time? One at a time is ok for 4 videos or less, but when I have more than that it can get a little tedious. Specifically, I need something that can batch convert my mpg movies files my point & shoot digicam can take to a format that imovie 09 will import & work with.

The problem is this: when I import image sequences, the frame rate is set 29.97 by default, but I need it to be 25 (they come from a video shot at 25fps). View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a new Macbook Pro where I have installed FD7 (upgraded). I worked on a 105 page script on Friday, adding a few lines which increased the page count to 106. I saved it. Printed it. And Closed it. Sunday, I re-open the same file only to discover now FD7 has clocked the pages at 108. It appears that on page 10 FD7 'pushed' forward the last four lines onto the next page. Then, throughout the entire script - every so often - it would 'push' more lines into the forward page amounting to an increase in 2 pages. FD7 is glitchy, I know, often times when working in a script where I cut three pages, the total page count didn't change for a while after making the change. I did not mess with the 'tight' feature, nor were there any changes other than shortening one line. I even converted it to a pdf and emailed it to several people... now it's two pages longer, not a good thing. Or has this happened to anyone -- PC or Mac?

I currently store all my media on a network drive; so I don't want to copy the same file to multiple locations. Instead, after the DVD is ripped I'd like to have the movie added to two different libraries. Simply copying the iTunes library from my primary computer won't work. The library on my primary computer, has all my personal song ratings and playlists. The second computer is connected to a TV to be used as a HTPC and is more of a family computer. I would like to be able to maintain different playlists for this computer.
Essentially is there an easy way to make sure any new files added (or modified) to my primary iTunes library are also added to another iTunes library?
I have my firewire connected to my camera but I am not sure what to click in order to import my videos. I know nothing about technical terms and stuff so I used Imovie but i don't have that anymore. How do I do this on FCP?

The files are mp4 which I've never had an issue with importing before. The program was working just fine a few minutes before this happened.

Is there something that can append two videos together in a batch mode? We have a lot of video we need to add a little video trailer to the end of it.There has to be something that can operate in a batch type of mode where you can give it a bunch of video and then append a trailer on the end of each one.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have my media on a NAS (Qnap 451) and have added my existing videos to my library (without copying them locally to my library), and of course they show up as home videos. I know how you are supposed to change theinfo for multiple files, I select them all and choose get info and change the options tab to Movie. When I do that nothing happens at all, I can do the files one at a time and they change fine, but if I even select just two files it doesn't work.

My mac mini is an i5 2.3ghz with 8 ghz RAM with a 240 GB SSD. I import and edit a lot of videos using imovies and final cut. a week or so ago final cut x started slowing down a lot and crashing and then imovie started wit hthe same simptons, i've tried reinstalling both, deleting the full .plist and preference files, i tried installing a fresh lion install and then installing just imovie and final cut and the same thing happens. does anyone have any idea of what the problem might be ? the fact that i used a fresh installation of lion and saw the same issues makes me believe it's a hardware issue but nothing else seems to slow down or have problems. Is it maybe the RAM?

After using FCP 7 for years, I have finally moved to FCP 10 and completed a course which didn't deal with this basic question. I have for example 3 SD cards, with video clips on them, lets call them, 1/ wide shot, 2/ close up and 3/sundry. I have created a library and have no problem importing data from SD_1, but I cannot work out how to eject SD_1 and insert SD_2 to import data and so on. Even after the MBP has imported, rendered and shows all background processes as "Idle" if I try to eject SD_1 it shows a message, "Card in use".

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using Final Cut Pro and I want to use the waveform tool to optimise the saturation of my videos (2 feeds from different camera angles that are not balanced yet).
The Histogram works fine, but the vectorscope and the waveform view just display a bunch of junk. It does not look anything like what I see in the instruction manual. I attach a screenshot so you can see what I currently see.

So I've recently purchased a late 2013 27 inch iMac i7, 32gb ram, and for some weird reason my tracks don't stay synchronized. I always synchronize my videos, 2 tracks, in the beginning but for some odd reason it ends up out of sync towards the end. I tried the detach audio enter realtime method, it worked temporarily but it went back to the weird sync issue.

I have a project where I have applied a vignette to multiple clips(70+) in the timeline. When I added the effect I first applied it to a single clip, adjusted some of the parameters until I was happy and then copied and pasted the effect onto all the clips.
I was happy until I came back to the project and didn't like the amount of vignette I used. how to adjust the vignette on all clips at once? If I adjust the vignette on one of the clips, copy and then paste attributes it pastes the whole effect onto the rest of the clips and 'doubles' the effect as it where. I just want to paste the adjustment I have made.

I have 12x3 minute music videos (about 300 mb. each) which I want to burn onto one DVD.
I am unsure of the correct method. I have tried using Toast but it didn't work.
The 12 videos have all been exported using Quicktime conversion and were shot in HDV
I have never been able to understand the setting up of scratch discs when working from multiple external HDDs? I am using final cut pro 7 to edit 2 projects at the moment, each of which are on separate external hard drives.
I was under the impression that you set the scratch disc folder on the imac itself and obviously set up the projects to direct to that folder. Is this true? Do ALL fcp projects go to same folder?
What I am also confused about is whether or not I should be setting separate scratch disc folders for each project in each external HDD? I need to take my HDDs home to use on MacBook Pro, I'm currently editing on iMac.
I set up scratch folder in one of the HDDs and finished the project and then set up new project and new scratch disc in other HDD and it appears to keep the setting for both projects!?

I cannot save any videos I create on Final Cut Pro because the "Share > default file" function no longer works. My Mac was fine until this new Maverick OS update, now I have a new issue every single week.

When I sync one audio file with one video file the video file is always placed in the primary storyline and the audio file is always placed under it. And the new syncronised clip is named afte the video file.
when I sync multiple audio files to one video file. It seems to be random what file endsup in the primary storyline of the new compound clip, most of the time is seems to be one of the audio files. This is troublesom as the syncing acuracy is then limited to the frame as the smallest incrament of adgustment. Also, it menas I have to manualy change the names of my now syncronised clips as the names are not consistant making sorting dificult. (This all results in a lot of time spent fixing this behavoir and realy dampens the advantages of the sync feature.)
the video should not be the primary track in a new syncrosnised compound clip and I can't find any link between my behavoir and the resulting choise of which tile is the primary sortyline track.
