I need to batch convert multiple image sequences (tiff) to prores. The problem is this: when I import image sequences, the frame rate is set 29.97 by default, but I need it to be 25 (they come from a video shot at 25fps). Changing the frame rate of every image sequence, one by one, is too time-consuming. How can I change it on all my sequences at once?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a collection of .htm files saved onto my Mac hard drive. I want to convert them to .jpg files--all at once. I found a Windows program that could do it, but when it converted them, it would not retain the original file names. It gave them a sequential file name, i.e. _1.jpg, _2.jpg, _3.jpg ~ _263.jpg. There is no option to retain the original file names...:/
EDIT: (i.e. marketingtable.htm > marketingtable.jpg)
So my question is, is there an Automator process that could batch convert .htm files to .jpg? Or is there an app for Mac that can batch convert .htm files to image (.jpg) files?
I usually am able to find the answer to all my questions with Google, and this time I thought I had as well with the Windows app, but it brought upon too much of a feat for me to handle.

I am looking for a reliable quick batch converter that can convert the .mov movie files my camera shoots to mpg2 to burn quickly to a blank DVD to give to family members to play on a regular DVD player. The clips are good, but my family is eager to watch the files on TV, & it is an ordeal & too time consuming to have to go into a video & DVD editor for everything I or my family shoot with my digicam. View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to batch-extract a large folder of *.rar archives which all have the same password without having to manually enter the password each time. To this end I have managed to install the popular extraction utility 'unrar' and use it via Terminal.
I think I've gotten a handle on using the switches etc, as I have managed to successfully extract one file, without creating a subdirectory, and without having to enter the password (apart from in the single command, obviously...). The next part, applying the 'unrar' command to all 578 files, is proving more difficult..

I found one called mpegstream clip which is good, but it seems to only do one at a time, it there a feature in it that can do more than one at a time? One at a time is ok for 4 videos or less, but when I have more than that it can get a little tedious. I'm taking an opportunity that just came up to upgrade to a 15" i7 Macbook Pro and wanted to run something by the community here. I currently run Windows 7 under Parallels 5 only and would love to convert to a bootcamp so I can run Windows 7 under both Bootcamp and Parallels. I know from my research some say this is impossible.
But I just thought of something and thought maybe someone else tried this. Windows 7 has a backup/restore feature that can make a system disk image. So I was thinking of trying that. Uninstalling the Parallels tools then creating a disk image. Then making my Bootcamp partition and copying my disk image created earlier onto that partition.
Anyone know of any Mac OS X programs that will allow me to extract/expand/convert floppy .image files?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI know this has not been possible in earlier versions of iTunes, but I hope Apple has addressed it by now. It makes a great deal of sense. If, for example, one has a song in the album in which it was originally released and also has a copy as part of a Greatest Hits album, we should not have to retain two copies of the song to be able to hear it no matter which album we choose to play. Aperture and iPhoto seem to manage this with images - why not in iTunes? Is it possible to do this yet?

I am looking for a nice tidy option to create an image of a "master" client and distribute to a group of student Macbooks. All the Macbooks are the same model and are all running Snow Leopard (though they were released with Leopard). Initially, one of the teachers created a user account (called student) with all the software and settings that we needed, on one of them and used Migration Assistant to copy that account to the others.
I prefer to have a master image I can restore to at any time. I figure that Disk Utility will do the job - I'm just not 100% sure of which steps to take. So far I have created my "master" macbook that is set up just the way I want it. Next I was going to attach it to the mac I use to run everything on (ARD etc) via firewire and boot the master in Target mode. Then I would run Disk Utility on my mac and use the New Image button to create an image called "studentPOD.dmg" (There is room on my mac for this, or I can put it on an external USB disk) Is this correct, and once I have the image, how do I get it onto the other Macbooks? Is there anything special I have to do to make it bootable? They all part of a student POD and can be re-imaged at anytime without worrying about losing data...so I can afford to experiment...

I am trying to insert multiple pictures at once into a word document, on office for mac 2011. I am using the 'insert picture' option from the toolbar. Shift-click doesn't work like on a PC, and I have tried a variety of button combinations that don't seem to have any effect! Is there any way around this so I don't have to insert picture files into a word document one at a time?

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I just got a new AppleTV for Christmas. I started saving my movies to my computer/iTunes. Tried Casino Royale with RipIt and it turned out great. However since then I've tried Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring (the extended edition) several different times and I just haven't gotten it to work.
Tried it with RipIt and it flat out didn't work. Didn't even result in a playable format. Tried Handbrake and the audio drops out completely 3/4 of the way through side A of the movie. Tried ripping it via MakeMKV then converting it to an AppleTV friendly format through Handbrake and the video turned out horrible. Then I tried ripping it via Mac The Ripper and then compressing via Handbrake it and once again the audio drops out completely. Is there any other way to get the extended edition of Lord of the Rings into iTunes with good video quality and not having the audio dropout problems?
I bought FCPX and Compressor because all my Kool-aid drinking Mac friends said you have to have this to edit (former Avid user). Learning as I go and I am very impressed with the FCPX software from where I came from.
However, I don't see anyway to make chaptered menus in Compressor 4? Really??? I know DVDs are not the future but they are sure the present right now. What they currently use to get a project off the timeline and into a chaptered DVD that I can duplicate and hand to people.....

I just got a base level mac pro. When I run compressor, it fills up the library in the ssd drive and crashes the machine when it runs out of disk space. Is there a solution for this?

Having just upgraded the FCP suite to the latest (4.1.2 for Compressor) I've run into a bug that has been affecting other users in earlier versions, e.g.: Compressor 4.1.1 crashes when trying to create custom setting from scratch..Basically I run Compressor, and choose the "New Setting..." option under the lower left drop-down menu.
I get a spinning beach ball, then the app crashes.I've tried a full reinstall of the app after deleting it and it's associated preferences and app support files. I've also logged in under a clean new user account and the same thing happens, so it must be some issue on a system level.
The only workaround I've found from another thread is to duplicate an existing setting and modify it from there. But clearly it would be better if it didn't crash. For those who might be interested in the details, here is the crash log:

Am I able to copy the Compressor App (part of the final cut pro suite) to another Computer with a legitimate serial? It's only on one computer at present but I'd like to transfer it to another computer as it only has DVD Studio Pro and FCP - no compressor.
Can I just copy the Icon onto a HD and past it onto the other computer or will I have to copy all the files associated with it too?
Running 4.1.3 with FCPX and Send to Compressor has all of the distributed processing groups greyed out in the selection drop down. I can only run compressor on This Computer.
If I export the file from FCPX and then drop that into Compressor from the finder it works fine. Is there a reason it is not working when directly connected?
I have deleted and reinstalled both apps but get the same results.

1. If i set automatic fps in Compressor to 30fps, converted footage to ProRes playbacks smoothly.

2. If i set automatic fps near original 29.97 fps, converted footage to ProRes playbacks stutters (especially if you pay attention to the part of footage, where child is going toward a house wall).

However, if I repeat the same processes in Adobe Encoder, footage playbacks smoothly in both cases:
