Final Cut Pro X :: Waveform Tool Not Working To Optimize Saturation Of Videos

I am using Final Cut Pro and I want to use the waveform tool to optimise the saturation of my videos (2 feeds from different camera angles that are not balanced yet).Â
The Histogram works fine, but the vectorscope and the waveform view just display a bunch of junk. It does not look anything like what I see in the instruction manual. I attach a screenshot so you can see what I currently see.Â

when expanding a video to full screen, the tool bar does not "hide" and infact, blocks the progression of the video. in order to fast forward, i have to minimize the video to do so.

I've recently upgraded to Lion and have found that Quicktime movies and embedded Flash movies won't work. With the embedded flash all I get is a black box, and with quicktime movies, such as the ones on the Apple website, I get nothing - the irony of not being able to watch movies on the Apple site with my Apple iMac gives me a little chuckle. Anyways ....... I've been reading thread after thread and trying lots of different things but nothing works. I've got this feeling inside that says it's something simple but just can't seem to find it.

I recently bought a new white Macbook and after 2 years of acclimating to my beautiful 24" iMac's screen, I feel like the Macbook needs more saturation. I've played with the color profile many times and I've compared it to the iMac while doing this and can't match it no matter what I do. Does anyone know how I can increase the saturation on my Macbook to better match my iMac?

New 13" MBP, 250 MB stock dirve, set it up with software and configured everything, about 200 MB still free. Before I swap it out for a 500 GB and add my media files I thought I'd create an image of it using the Hard Disk tool.
- Logged into home NAS drive on the network using Connect To Server, opened Mac Hard Disk Utility, couldn't create image because the Hard Drive was in use.
- Restarted using OS DVD instead of HD, but now there is no Connect To Server pull-down option to be able to log into NAS drive on network. I can see the NAS through AFP when I go to Save As, but that's only as a guest, Read Only.
- I plugged in my 32 GB flash drive, tried to save image there, got an error message that it can't create because file is too large.
- Unplugged flash drive, plugged in 320 GB external USB drive, couldn't write to it because it was still NTFS from using it with my windows machine.
- Used the HD utility to erase the drive as FAT so it will work on both. Was able to create a folder on the drive so I know it's now writable.
Tried to create the image, it looked like it was working for a while, woke up this morning and checked, it says it can't create the image because the file is too large.
It can't fit 40 GB of data onto an empty 320 GB drive? Did Apple hire Windows programmers to create this utility?

I could not use the type tool to create 'live' text on a layer. With the type tool selected I get the following error message when clicking to begin typing: "Could not complete your request because of a programme error." I quit Photoshop then attempted to launch the application by opening the file. The application opened but the file wouldn't, giving the same error message. I quite Photoshop again and relaunched the application from the Dock. The applicatiuion opens fine but displays the same error message (before I have attempted to open a file). With a file open I checked the type palette, where the dafault typeface is shown as Myriad Pro, but the default settings are: Type size: 1ptLinefeed (leading): 1ptKerning: 1Tracking 1Type height: 0% [code] Some odd settings there. The type tool bar (at the top of my display) has blank fields. Typing desired values into any of these fields doesn’t resolver the issue.I have tried restarting, creating a new file but to no avail.

I have my firewire connected to my camera but I am not sure what to click in order to import my videos. I know nothing about technical terms and stuff so I used Imovie but i don't have that anymore. How do I do this on FCP?

I downloaded this from the site and installed it. I cant find it as an app to run it.
Is it an app I need to run, or is it installed and runs in the background? If thats the case how do i find it in the activity monitor to make sure its running?

I am having an issue with final cut x where videos aren't being imported into an event. I have tried using the import option and dragging and dropping the files. The files are mp4 which I've never had an issue with importing before. The program was working just fine a few minutes before this happened.

My mac mini is an i5 2.3ghz with 8 ghz RAM with a 240 GB SSD. I import and edit a lot of videos using imovies and final cut.  a week or so ago final cut x started slowing down a lot and crashing and then imovie started wit hthe same simptons, i've tried reinstalling both, deleting the full .plist and preference files, i tried installing a fresh lion install and then installing just imovie and final cut and the same thing happens. does anyone have any idea of what the problem might be ? the fact that i used a fresh installation of lion and saw the same issues makes me believe it's a hardware issue but nothing else seems to slow down or have problems. Is it maybe the RAM? Â

So I've recently purchased a late 2013 27 inch iMac i7, 32gb ram, and for some weird reason my tracks don't stay synchronized. I always synchronize my videos, 2 tracks, in the beginning but for some odd reason it ends up out of sync towards the end. I tried the detach audio enter realtime method, it worked temporarily but it went back to the weird sync issue.Â

Well i just got this macbook yesterday and its brand new out of the shop etc.
im not getting anywhere near the advertised up to 10 hours battery life. i was sitting on mac rumors and had 2 other tabs open in safari and was downloading a small file only a few hundred kb and its only saying that i've got 1 and a half hours battery life.
is there any program that i can run to optimise the battery or something?

I've take home an unused, unloved Power Mac G4 FW800 from work and would love to hear any anyone may have to get it running @ its optimum without forking out for a new Processor. I wont be doing any gaming on it, plan using it for Media and Design like Final Cut Express4, Photoshop and Illustator and for music and movies.
Its has a Dual 1.25Ghz Processor, 167Mhz Bus, ive installed a new ATI 9600PRO Graphic Card and bumped the RAM up to its 2GB max and have an external 500GB 7200RPM Iomega FireWire HDD. I also got a Philips 19in Wide LCD 1440x900 for cheap.

I have a Mini (mid July 2010) that has worked flawlessly, yet I decided to install 8gigs of ram. At times I can have lots of things going on and with the original 4 gigs it seemed to bog down. Thinking more ram is the answer, of which it's apparently not, the Mini still can bog down even with the 8 gigs.
When checking Utilities and system memory it always has at least 3.5 gigs in a FREE status. No matter if I open almost everything. The system does recognize all 8 gigs it just does not use it all.Â
Is there some settings I need to tweak? All updates are installed. I'm not sure what to do to get the Mini to utilize all of its available ram. Or am I applying PC logic here? Â

Wondering if anyone else in here has run across this issue before... I am using a Sony TRV-480 camcorder's pass through function (av-dv) to import a home movie. It seems my new copy of final cut express wont work with my av to dv pass through camera. I called tech support and they suggested I use iMovie to upload the movie then export it to a quick time movie. then import it into final cut express...

I yesterday installed Yosemite and the previous version of Final Cut Pro does not work with it. When I try to install the latest version of Final Cut Pro from the purchased tab in the app store, I get the message: "Final Cut can't be installed on this computer because it requires at least 4 GB of memory". When I go to the storage tab in "About This Mac", it shows that I have 154.49 GB free of 319.21 GB.

I have a clip, keyed it out and am now placing a background image Ive used dozens of time. When I drag the gaussian blur over the top of the background clip I usually get a tool that comes up to how much blur to apply. Cant get it to do that now and have no clue how to use it different to get the adjustment to come up.

What can be done to get the chroma keyer working correctly? All the tutorials I saw show how good it can be, but I don't get it right. In the attached images you see the chroma key on and off. The chroma keyer obviously picks the blue instead of the green. Any way to change that?

I was just watching LOST on hulu 5 min ago. Now, I can't hear any audio on video files whether they be hulu, youtube, aol, etc. Audio does work on iTunes music still and when I hear the blips when i turn my macbook volume up and down.

I can't seem to exist out of fullscreen using the esc key when a video is playing on website such as YouTube or Netflix. I can, however, escape the video when the video is paused. Is this a problem or is it just how they designed things?

I'm working with large video projects using FCPX and want to optimize the performance and reliability of my Mac Pro.Â
I'm told that the system files should be separate to my working files i.e. on a separate hard drive. Â
I have two internal hard drives so can I move the User Folder onto the 2nd hard drive or does the User Folder have to live on the same hard drive as the system files? Do I need to just move the video files to the 2nd HD? I also do 3D animation and would like those files to live on the 2nd HD.Â

so since my late 2010 Macbook Pro died I just got a new one this weekend. I was wondering what the best way to optimize the battery life on it would be as I'm noticing the battery life seems shorter on it than the new one. Is it true that if you use your Macbook more often on the AC charger than just on the battery itself it will make the battery life better in the long run?
