Have been trying to get in a special character [the tick mark] onto a text title on my current project. Had gone to the special character option under EDIT menu, and added the desired special character to the 'favourite' list, but after that I do not know how to move ahead.

When replacing pre-populated (untitled folder) or selected text in Finder, Safari, etc. a special character is added about 1/3 of the time. You can't see it in Finder, but it does show in file names viewed in Terminal, in URLs (only after you hit enter and Safari gets confused) in the file name at the top of certain apps, or on PCs.

I have a problem writing documents in Spanish and it is that I don't know how to use Spanish special characters and symbols used in MS Word, Text Edit or any other text editor in a Mac computer. I have to send status reports in Spanish to my Hispanic customers and I need to learn this before my work accumulates up to a point where I won't be able to catch up.
On a Windows PC it is relatively easy by using a combination of the ALT key and a three digits number that correspond to the letter and then it appears. How do I do it in a Mac?
When I go up to Edit > Special characters, the usual screen with all the special characters does not show up. Is there another way to bring up the special characters menu? And is there a chance that I accidentally disabled it somehow?

How can I add characters to the list of special characters that come up when holding a key? For example, I used to be able to hold the 's' key and when the menu came up I could press 1 for the Turkish 'Åž' character. Now that I have updated to Yosemite, it seems that it has disappeared.

I am trying to hunt down a mystery for a friend using her macbook air (Lion). Â
She is trying to add special characters (accents, etc.) to words in a MIcrosoft Word 2008 document. Â
Sometimes she can hold the key, and the special characters menu will pop up. Sometimes she will get the "old" repeating letter (eeeeeeeeeeeee). I tried to look at everything I could think of, but there seems to be no earthly reason why it does it sometimes but not all the time.Â
The only explanation I could guess at was that it was Word 2008 and Lion (and not Word 2011).Â

I have difficulty distinguishing between active windows and inactive windows because the title text for both is a shade of gray. How can I theme OS X Lion to use black text scrollbar, and controls for active windows; gray for inactive windows? I am tired of having to click on a window to ensure that it is active.

A client asked me to remove a word from a title (I'm using the Lens Flare title). I removed the word, let it render, and playing back in FCPX, sure enough the word is not there - but when I export it using Share > 720p, the word is back! Three times I've exported the project and each time the word is still there.

When I open my e-mail in the past the top half of the page was the title and the bottom half was the text of the e-mail, now all I get is the list of the title of the e-mail and not the text it is just one long page instead of being divided in two.

I'm having some difficulty adding a dissolve transition to a title that is connected to a clip in the primary storyline. I've tried leaving it as a connected clip, I've tried putting it in a secondary storyline, I've tried using both the dissolve transition and ramping the opacity, but no matter what I do or how long I make the dissolve, it only seems to last about 5 frames.I'm coming to FCPX as a veteran of FCP studio, and this was something I did quite regularly and quite easily. I'm using the most recent version of FCPX.Â
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I found the lost project in FCPX. It has a music tract, text and video. When I pulled the project down for editing, I am able to separate the music from the video, but the text bubbles do not appear above the video allowing me to change the misspelled words that need editing.I've searched all of my backup drives for the original footage in case I have to re-edit the whole thing, but I'm unable to find the original footage. Every event in my libraries appears as a finished project.

When I am on the internet sometimes my screen will not display certain characters or text boxes. When I was on a website the other day I was attempting to input some information and the screen would not display what I was typing or what would appear in the drop down boxes. And I have had this problem on several websites, but when I use a different computer it works just fine! I can't think of anything to do! I am trying to use OpenOffice and LibreOffice for word processing, but after I write with diacritics/romanian characters and save the text, when I open the document again the diacritics dissapear. In LibreOffice the diacritics become empty space and in OpenOffice I get ? instead of them.Â

The company whose website it is say everything ok their end and can all logon so can my business partner on his pc!!

on [url]... the boxes stay blank when I type. I tried downloading a chrome and firefox as a different browser from safari but it doesn't let me as my Mac is too old. I am currently having to copy and paste into the text boxes.

I have just began using Final Cut Express. My video contains red text with a black outline created using outline text on FCE. It looks fine when watching the video in the canvas, but when I export it to a quicktime file, the text is blurry and hard to read. I have tried varying line widths and softnesses but to no avail. Another video I have made has white text with a black outline. It is easier to read, but still blurry. What can I do to fix this? Are there settings for export? iMovie has export settings and I am surprised to have not seen any for FCE, considering FCE is more advanced.
