i recently installed sabnzbd and it was running perfect until i reboot, now the icon has disappeared from the top bar and it wont open unless i force quit it in activity monitor, if i reinstall it its fine but after reboot back to square 1
View 3 RepliesI have a friends MacBook running 10.6.8 2.26Ghz Intel Core Duo 8 gig ram. I have installed UnrarX a couple of times with no errors in the installation process, however the application does not appear in the applications folder or any where else and cannot find it to open .rar files.
I fixed the issue by simply copying the UnrarX app from my MacBookPro but would like to find out what is going on. I have been told by my friend that she has had this issue before.

Installed a new 750GB drive into my MacBookPro 5.1 Couldn't get Winclone to make image so I was forced to start from scratch with a new XP installation.
My MBP is partitioned 25%Mac & 75%XP with bootcamp and I have the old drive in a enclosure connected with a firewire. So all of old files are on the external drive now.
After installing XP I have no internet connection, drivers etc... However if I boot up on the mac side everything works fine. (I cloned the mac os already with Carbon copy).
So can I just copy all my old drivers over to the new drive? If yes how and if no how do I get them installed on the new harddrive. The MBP came with everything preinstalled.
I have recently purchased a MacBook, so i'm new to the platform. I believe the main "office" type package is iWork which will open DOC, PPT and XLS files. My question is should iWork come pre-installed or on the Mac Applications DVD? I have just loaded in the Mac Applications DVD and it seems to have "Macintosh HD" on it, which i've now installed. But no iWork.
View 6 Replies View RelatedThe other day I noticed an Opera icon on my dock, clicked and not surprisingly, Opera appeared. I have never installed Opera and Im the only one who has ever touched my macbook. I quit out of it, and it disappeared off my dock, which means not only had it installed itself but run all by itself too. So I went straight to my apps folder to find and delete it and it wasn't there. A spotlight search came up with nothing too? How is this even possible with the permission system of OS X? Any ideas on how to find out if/where it is installed?

View 3 Replies View RelatedSome applications simply refuse to install, citing the reason that the application "can't be installed on this computer" and nothing else. The applications that are giving me this error message in particular includes Alfred and Solitaire Greatest Hits. Other applications work just fine, such as Twitter for Mac and TextWrangler. Are Alfred and Solitaire compiled for processors that are newer than my lowly Core Duo, or what?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I just put a new WD 750GB HD into my 2006 white Macbook. (Core Duo 2.0 Gigahertz, 2 GB RAM, 10.4.11 OS X). Everything seems to be working fine, but for some reason iPhoto crashes incessantly. I tried rebuilding the iPhoto library and while it can rebuild the thumbnails, when it gets to rebuilding the actual library it crashes. I can't get anything off of my iPhone. What's the deal?(iPhoto 6.0.6)

I installed it, but about a day or two after installation, it started freezing up, and the beach ball started showing up. It wasn't only Camino, but all of my web browsing applications started acting up. Opera and Safari were both affected by the beach ball, and my internet connections got really slow. So, stuff like Facebook and Youtube started bugging up. I deleted Camino, and some of those problems are gone now. But, I want to know, what did Camino do?
View 2 Replies View Relatedi saw another post with a similar problem, but what specifically is happening is that i have iCal set to sync with Gmail calendar. mac mail keeps starting up to show me appointments and nothing else. as far as i can tell the calendar reminders are the only thing that is causing mac Mail to start. i have disabled my email account in mac mail also.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThere are a few fonts (OTF/TTF/PSF...) I have installed with Font Explorer X, what won't show up in ANY application.Even Text Edit won't display them.However this isn't a problem linked to Font Explorer because before this I had Suitcafe Fusion 3 and had the same problem.What makes it strange is that there are a few fonts of some families that DO show up although they are JUST THE SAME as the fonts that won't show up and are from the SAME family.
I cleaned my cache numerous times with applications like Font Finagler and checked everywhere for font corruptions or duplicates with applications like Font Doctor but nothing seemed wrong or corrupted.If I go and check the fonts in System Profiler it clearly says they are valid and enambled.
Now what makes it even more unexplainable is that when I install the fonts trough Font Book and shut down the font manager, they DO show up...Howevery I'm not really happy abouth that because Font Book is a crappy font manager and I paid money for a good one...

How do I go about deleting applications? I have two versions of Safari on my computer. Version 4.03 or something like that, and the new 5.02. I know I upgraded to the 5 when it came out and I had assumed I was running that since then. Turns out I've still been running 4, and was having an issue with the "New Tab" not working. Thats when I noticed I wasn't running 5. (if you follow me?)... I just redownloaded 5 b/c I thought it would overwrite the 4 version, but it didn't, now I have two Safari's and when I do a spot light search 2 show up as well with no indicator as to which is which. If it matters, I am running Snow Leopard with everything up to date (at least I think? considering I thought this was...)

I know how to change the res if I could access the menu, but I can't. Can someone help? BTW I can't finish the installation until res is better so the set up window is still in the middle.

Office 2008 12.2.8 Update can't be installed on this Disk. A version of the software required to install this update was not found on this volume.
Here is my problem: I moved all apps which belong to iLife' 11 to "/Applications/iLife' 11" sub-folder. As soon as I did that Updater stop seeing all this apps. How I can fix this problem w/o moving them back to Applications? As far as I understand this is a problem with path but I cannot find anything regarding applications path.

I have a MacBook Pro and a MacPro both running 10.6.1. My Sony PRS600 is on its way so I can't test how well it works yet, but I have installed the Sony eReaderLibrary software on both machines. On the laptop it appears to be running OK. On my MacPro I double click on the app and it starts, but although it starts, no window appears and nothing works. If I click of anything in the menu bar - ie about, edit, file, view help etc absolutely nothing happens. I have Adobe Digital Editions on both machines and that works fine. The only difference is that I installed the Adobe software BEFORE the Sony on my MacPro and AFTER on my laptop.

I know about the whole not needing a serial number now however it is asking me for one since the install on all three applications. I removed the trial and all evidence of it and restarted my macbook before installing the box.
