I have been using for outlook 2011 without any dramas until yesterday when i got a new mobile broadband ISP (Telstra). I can receive emails fine but when I try to send any I get the following error:
"Outlook cannot connect to the server. Verify that your computer is connected to the network."
I've been using Mail.app for quite a while now. I have two email accounts linked up to it, one being a gmail and the other my school email. The Gmail account is a POP server and everything works great. I can send/receive all my emails and its fine. My school email is an IMAP account and while I can receive emails I cannot send emails through the IMAP server unless I am at school. Is this an issue with my incoming and outgoing mail servers? I am assuming this is the problem but honestly I am not sure. I also have noticed Gmails new IMAP capability. Would this possibly benefit me? Could I forward my IMAP account to Gmail and then use Gmails server to send emails through my school account.

I am running a network using a Time Machine as my DHCP server and Verizon wireless router. I use Microsoft Exchange for email, etc. For hours at a time, my Intel iMac (OS 10.7.4) will not connect to my Exchange Server using Outlook 2012, and I can not connect to the Exchange server using my browsers-Google Chrome or Safari (Outlook web access). I get errors that the server is not available. If I use another computer on my network, like my MacBook, it connects both through Outlook or Web Access in a browser window.
I have the same problem on my iMac whether I connect via ethernet or wireless. Firewall is disabled, using no proxies, etc... The problem may persist for a few hours or a day at a time and will spontaneously resolve-I have tried changing DHCP settings, etc... The problem occurs for all user accounts, and does not seem to differ if multiple users are logged or just one. The Exchange server address is the only web address I seem to have this problem with.

I have one problem again regarding my "MAIL"
I can send emails, without any problems...but I can't RECEIVE any emails, at all. All of a sudden.
On the left bottom corner, I can see, receiving 1 of 4, and after 1 min, the bar is gone, and I cannot get any emails at all.
When I login to the webmail (abc.com/webmail for instance), I can find there're 4 emails sitting there "unread"
May I know what's the problem? and how to fix it? because I want to be able to receive the mails from MAIL instead of logging in to webmail all the time.
I have an issue with my Apple Mail. I've configured my server's email on it. Now it works all fine when I setup a new account; I can easily send and receive emails.
However, after I quit the application, and reopen it, I can ONLY send emails! I don't receive any emails!
I cannot connect to the server [URL] to send email. The options for servers in the mail preferences shows this server as Offline. Cox requires use of this server.

Since I have had my system upgraded to Maverick I can no longer download emails from my server/provider. Mail asks for the password for the user (me) and when I type it in nothing happens.
There is no problem connecting to my server/provider online, so the server is working ok. My guess is that I am missing some crucial ticked or unticked box in the mail set up.
like I said, no email alerts of mails getting through at the moment (so have to read everything only when I'm online...).
I just upgraded Office to 2011 (not the beta).
How do I resend and redirect emails? The option are no longer there.
If I enable sync services it says it will merge my calendars and address book. I want to overwrite my Outlook data with ical and address book data but the option doesn't seem to be there. How do I ensure that I don't end up with duplicates?

View 6 Replies View RelatedThis may be purely coincidence but within the first 2-3 days of shifting over to outlook 2011, none of my emails sent to user@hotmail.com are going through. I get a system mail admin return e-mail saying unable to deliver for 4 hours. Basically saying hotmail.com is not responding. I have never had this problem on mac mail or outlook for the PC. Is this coincidence or does Outlook 2011 get the blame?

From Mail (I'm running Leopard), I want to be able to send emails with a logo on them, at the bottom of the email. What I don't want is for the logo to show up as an attachment. I want to send a copy of attachments in 1 email to all 4 addresses at the same time, by typing in only the contact group. I know I can do this by creating 4 different contacts in that contact group, BUT can I set it up so I have only 1 contact in that group with the 4 email addresses listed in that 1 contact and have the attachments sent to all 4 emails without having to create 4 separate and distinct addresses. Does that make any sense??
I want to use these addresses to function as "flash drives" to save attachments.
I am new to Mac so please bear with my incompetence. I have managed to find the plugin HTTPMail to add to Apple Mail in enable the use of my hotmail account in this software. Strangely, though, I cannot see any emails (i.e. it has not synchronised any of my folders/mails), I cannot receive any, BUT I have tried sending one and it actually worked. Would there be a step that I missed? I am on Leopard version 10.5.6., Mail version 3.5.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been suffering from this issue with Mail for a long time, and I have finally decided to attempt to seek out a resolution. I have noticed that since I began using MobileMe, Mail has taken an extraordinarily long time to send emails. It takes at least a minute to send around 5 lines of text, which seems rather excessive. I have noticed this on Leopard (10.5.8) and Snow Leopard (10.6.1).
When I send emails from my MobileMe account on my iPhone, it takes seconds, so I haven't noticed any similar issues there. I opened up the connection doctor in Mail and found that it took a long time to report a successful connection to both MobileMe and the MobileMe smtp server. I allowed Snow Leopard to automatically set up my mail account, so I don't believe that it is an issue with settings. Has anyone experienced something similar, and is there a fix I could try?
At my company we are using windows exchange server 2003. Now my boss bought a new macbook pro (snow leapard) with Mac office 2011 installed. Apparently Outlook '11 and exchange server '03 doesn't work together. Only exchange server 2007 and up are compatible. Is there any way around this? My boss hates Office 2008. Can't blame him

If I delete them in the Mail app, they remain on my online inbox, and Vice Versa. I've tried hitting Sync Account in the mailbox drop-down menu but that doesn't do anything.

I have no trouble setting up the account in mail.app, but I gather IMAP set ups store all the Inbox locally? Certainly set up of the gmail account in mail consumes over 10G of my precious MBP HD space.
So, is it possible to set up Mac mail with webmail so it that it more or less acts as a UI for the webmail account? I know I could easily use an app like Mailplane (nice but constantly crashes for me) or just a browser, but I am frustrated by the fact that OSX defaults to mail when an email link is clicked (maybe there is a fix for this) and I do like drag and drop file attaching, as well as the integration with iPhone, mobileme etc.
I am not able to send mail thru outlook for mac, have tried ports 25, 587, 485 with verizon acct username and password authentication .generally does not work, although a few emails went with port 25, which i thought was supposed to be blocked.my email is an msn account.my incoming mail works fine.

Just installed Windows 7 on a MacBook Pro. Almost everything works, except for Outlook does not send out emails. It keeps returning a message "relay access denied".

I just purchased my first IMac 21.5". I am having problems with opening some emails that were created in outlook express. When I try to open them it asks what program to use to open it. When I check the properties of the attachment it says the file type is .email.

When I tried to set up Outlook.com account with Mail I was not able to locate Outlook.com settings automatically like one would on iPhone. Anyhow, I set it up manually using the IMAP settings. It works great but the only problem is that it does not push emails instantly. It checks for email in set intervals. How can I set this to push emails?Â
