is it possible to send a calendar invitation across to Windows user using Outlook 2003/2007 from Entourage 2008? I can receive a invitation from an Outlook to Entourage fine, but am not able to send one back.

I will have to continue using pc for work but would like to use mac for photos, etc... My question deals with Outlook 2007 and Entourage 2008 compatability/integration. Does anybody know if Outlook and Entourage use the same pst file? Is it still a pst file in Entourage? I will be loading XP on mac via boot camp and/or Parallel/Fusion. Can Outlook 2007 and Entourage 2008 share the same pst file? I am hoping that they both use the same file so that when I'm in XP, my Outlook will have all emails, sent & received, as when I'm in OSX and Entourage 2008. Am I going to have to import file evertime I change OS? Also, does anybody have an opinion on Parallel or Fusion. What's the difference and what are the pro and cons of either.

I have a spam calendar invitation. I am pretty sure it did not come through email, since I can't find any email message in inbox, junk, trash, or anywhere else, with any content that matches this spam event.
Besides, "Add new invitations to Calendar" has been set to "Never" all along.
How can I get rid of this invitation without sending a reply to the spammer?
I read is to move it to a local "on my mac" calendar first. I don't have any such calendar, and can't see a way to create one!

I am having trouble converting my Mac (not PC) Outlook Express messages to Entourage (eventually I would like to move them to Mac Mail as well). On my old iMac I ran System 8.6 and Outlook Express. The messages on my old iMac were mostly saved as a single file named "Messages" in my "Main Identity" folder - this is how Outlook Express seemed to save the messages. I now have a PowerMac G5 running 10.5.6 and running Mac Mail as well as Entourage. I need to have a look at my old backed-up messages for business purposes, but I am unable to do so. I have given away my old iMac and so now I am stuck with System X and Entourage/Mac Mail.
I have downloaded the PST Import Tool but it does not seem to recognise my Mac Outlook Express files. I tried to open the files with Entourage; my old Outlook Express "Messages file" is recognised (or labelled) as an "Entourage database" but it does not open. I did have some individual messages saved that I was able to simply copy and paste as messages on to Entourage. But 99% of the old messages are stored in this single, large "Messages" file. And it is this file which I need to convert/import and am unable to do so. How do I convert this mac file into something that Entourage or MS Mail is able to understands seems to be the key question. All of this is very disconcerting to me - I have been a Mac person all my life and given that I am not changing computer platforms, I did not expect to encounter such problems. And there are some important e-mails I really do need to retrieve.
At work we use Entourage with exchange access to our work email. My coworker would like to be able to back up all his emails in entourage, and transplant them to his home PC which is using Outlook, and have them be all in his inbox and whatnot...what do I have to do?

I know that for Yahoo you need to pay $19.99/year or so to get it work on Mail/Entourage so I guess I got no choice but to do so. This will be my first time ever using a mail app because for years I've used the website-based e-mail only, so I'm still not so familiar with these apps. I've tried both Mail and Entourage and so far I like Entourage better. It just looks neater and seems to have more options than Mail (I might be wrong). When I choose "Export" in the Entourage File section I am able to create a folder with a .msbox suffix but don't see how to move that to Outlook. I see some file format conversion programs on the Internet but they all seem to deal with Outlook to Entourage conversion.

I have the new 21.5" iMac with the ATI graphics card running Snow Leopard.
I work in an office that has a mix of Macs running Entourage, and PC's running Outlook.
To collaborate better, I have setup an office calendar in Outlook, which I have shared with the rest of the office. Everyone using Outlook has added the calendar and is now using it.
The Entourage users in the office are not so please with me (I implemented the Exchange system so everyone is mad at me because it's not working!).
However, I get stuck at step #3 - we don't have an 'advanced' button in the bottom left hand corner of the window. So now I am stuck!
I'm giving outlook beta a test, running the PGP software with it. My contacts in Entourage are organized nicely, with each contact's name and e-mail address. Really simple information. I then go to "Export", and choose to export the contacts to a "tab-delimited text" file (it's my only choice). Basically, I get this .txt file. I then go to my Outlook 2007, and have tried importing both "Comma Separated Values" and "Tab Separated Values" with my .txt file. Unfortunately, while each contact's name and e-mail DO get imported, the format is completely messed up. I get this "map field" window when I choose to import by Tab Separated Values, but I've tried all different combinations, and every time, the names and e-mails simply jumble up altogether. Has anyone tried importing Entourage contacts into Outlook 2007? And if so, can you please give me some instructions on how to do so?

Before I switched to my PB G4 (which a few months ago was replaced by a new MB Pro) in 2003, I archived my Outlook identity as a Stuffit file. The other day I discovered this old archive and thought I'd try to retrieve the message from it. I unstuffed it and the result was an "Entourage Database." Okay, but Entourage will not let me import from it. When I try to use it as the database for Entourage, it needs to be rebuilt, but when it is rebuilt, the file size is reduced from 190 MB to 18 MB and the content is apparently cleaned out. Does anyone know how I can get these old email messages out of this file and into either Entourage or Apple Mail?

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo, i have been using entourage for a couple of years and had no problems. I now want to sync my mail and calendars with my new phone (Nokia N97 mini). To do this I believe I have to use Isync, so I have set the sync services preferences in entourage to 'sync events and tasks with ical and .Mac'.
I have a few queries:
1. when I do this my calendar in ical does not represent my calendar in entourage - there are additional events in the ical calendar (it doesnt recognise that these have been deleted from entourage). Ical is also set to sync with mobile me and that has the same additional events as ical.
2. in ical it says I have 2 calendars 'entourage' and 'entourage 2' however 'entourage' doesnt have any events on it. So I deleted it but it just keeps coming back
What is the "On My Computer" account in Entourage? can i get rid of it? the account i use is using Exchange and appears as a separate account in the side bar menu. can someone explain the difference between my email account and the "On My Computer"?
Specifically, when i try to make a group with my contacts that are located within my Exchange account, it places the group in the address book under "On My Computer" and i can not get it into the contact list where i draw the contacts from.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using Entourage 2008 on Snow Leopard. I deleted folders in Entourage and when I tried to delete them from the "deleted items" folder, Entourage crashed. I force quit and then tried to rebuild the database, but that also froze. Restarted the computer and was able to open the "rebuild database" window but it keeps freezing at step 5 when I try to rebuild database.

But, it is driving me crazy. I can open the attachments inside mac mail fine. In Entourage, says they may not be a ppt, or word, etc. doc, or that they may be "in-use."

I have tried everything I could find online as suggestions to fix the ssues including deleting fonts, deleting font caches, rebuilding database, and identities etc. I also cannot empty the exchange cache as you must be logged in for the command to show up. I don't know if this is an Apple OS or Microsoft Office issue or how to figure that out?

I have been trying to insert a simple monthly calendar into an excel spreadsheet, but cant find a way to do this on the mac version that im running. Any hints would be great. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using for outlook 2011 without any dramas until yesterday when i got a new mobile broadband ISP (Telstra). I can receive emails fine but when I try to send any I get the following error:
"Outlook cannot connect to the server. Verify that your computer is connected to the network."
One of my clients just purchased a Macbook Pro over the holidays (first time switcher from Windows PCs), and is using Entourage 2008 in place of Outlook 2007. (I used the excellent conversion utility from [URL] to move all his Outlook data over to Entourage.) So far, so good, except he ran into a bug I couldn't resolve for him. Apparently, if his laptop goes to sleep, when he wakes it back up, he receives a bunch of new emails into Entourage that all have the exact same date/time stamp on them (of the time the machine woke from sleep). Other than turning off sleep mode, or always making sure Entourage is closed down before the laptop goes to sleep, is there a fix for this issue?
