Ok, so the email program on the mac is not working with me. I have set it up to retrieve email from (URL)
I can receive emails with it but, anytime i try to send out emails it gives me and error.
I cannot send email (using Entourage and Safari). I get an error message -23016. I have the same system at work and have no problem, just at home.

I can send emails, without any problems...but I can't RECEIVE any emails, at all. All of a sudden.
On the left bottom corner, I can see, receiving 1 of 4, and after 1 min, the bar is gone, and I cannot get any emails at all.
When I login to the webmail (abc.com/webmail for instance), I can find there're 4 emails sitting there "unread"
May I know what's the problem? and how to fix it? because I want to be able to receive the mails from MAIL instead of logging in to webmail all the time.
I have an issue with my Apple Mail. I've configured my server's email on it. Now it works all fine when I setup a new account; I can easily send and receive emails.
However, after I quit the application, and reopen it, I can ONLY send emails! I don't receive any emails!
Upgraded to iPhoto '11, and latest software. iPhoto will not send emails with photos.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been using Mail.app for quite a while now. I have two email accounts linked up to it, one being a gmail and the other my school email. The Gmail account is a POP server and everything works great. I can send/receive all my emails and its fine. My school email is an IMAP account and while I can receive emails I cannot send emails through the IMAP server unless I am at school. Is this an issue with my incoming and outgoing mail servers? I am assuming this is the problem but honestly I am not sure. I also have noticed Gmails new IMAP capability. Would this possibly benefit me? Could I forward my IMAP account to Gmail and then use Gmails server to send emails through my school account.

What I don't want is for the logo to show up as an attachment. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using for outlook 2011 without any dramas until yesterday when i got a new mobile broadband ISP (Telstra). I can receive emails fine but when I try to send any I get the following error:
"Outlook cannot connect to the server. Verify that your computer is connected to the network."
I would like to set up a single/separate contact group in Address book with 4 email addresses. I want to send a copy of attachments in 1 email to all 4 addresses at the same time, by typing in only the contact group. I know I can do this by creating 4 different contacts in that contact group, BUT can I set it up so I have only 1 contact in that group with the 4 email addresses listed in that 1 contact and have the attachments sent to all 4 emails without having to create 4 separate and distinct addresses. Does that make any sense??
I want to use these addresses to function as "flash drives" to save attachments.
I am new to Mac so please bear with my incompetence. I have managed to find the plugin HTTPMail to add to Apple Mail in enable the use of my hotmail account in this software. Strangely, though, I cannot see any emails (i.e. it has not synchronised any of my folders/mails), I cannot receive any, BUT I have tried sending one and it actually worked. Would there be a step that I missed? I am on Leopard version 10.5.6., Mail version 3.5.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been suffering from this issue with Mail for a long time, and I have finally decided to attempt to seek out a resolution. I have noticed that since I began using MobileMe, Mail has taken an extraordinarily long time to send emails. It takes at least a minute to send around 5 lines of text, which seems rather excessive. I have noticed this on Leopard (10.5.8) and Snow Leopard (10.6.1).
When I send emails from my MobileMe account on my iPhone, it takes seconds, so I haven't noticed any similar issues there. I opened up the connection doctor in Mail and found that it took a long time to report a successful connection to both MobileMe and the MobileMe smtp server. I allowed Snow Leopard to automatically set up my mail account, so I don't believe that it is an issue with settings. Has anyone experienced something similar, and is there a fix I could try?
I am fairly new to mac. I have some files on my computer downloaded. some are wmv, some are avi. for some reason, a most of the files on my computer work and open perfectly, however certain ones give me an error message that reads:
"Cannot be opened. You may need to install additional software to view this type of file"
I have a few programs already downloaded that are supposed to convert these files. (Stuffit, RAR expander, Springy(doesn't work), Flip4Mac). I even checked to see if my software needed updating but my MBP says all software is up to date. How can i fix this problem so i can view the files??? I also have a file that is .f4v HD that won't open for some reason either.
i have tried everything to get videos uploaded to youtube but nothing works imovie gives me a communication error timeout thin and in safari i use the beta uploader and it crashes safari after ti gets like 5% done and i tried the reg uploader on youtube and it started at 1 and i checked it at4 30 and it still didnt budge or upload idk.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI just got my 2nd WD My Book 1TB Home Edt. I had it formatted and partitioned twice just fine as HFS+, but decided that I was going to move the drive to my AEB and possible my aTv. So I went into disk utilities to make it just one partition, this is where my problem started.
When I went to "erase" the drive and reformat it I got a an error, "Filesystem verify or repair failed". I tried repairing the drive and nothing I new to try worked. So I plugged the drive into a WinXP machine and was easily able to reformatt it to FAT32 and/or NTFS. After this I am able to plug it into the MB again and it sees it just when. When I go to format it in HFS+ I get the same error and I have to plug the HD back into XP to reformat it.
Yes it has the latest firmware (Jan 2009) from WD. Yes it works fine on the XP machine.
I have migrated on both my MacPro and MBP to iCloud, I assume my iPhone has too. So every now and again this message pops up (on Mac Pro) " You entered an invalid MobileMe member name or password. Verify your MobileMe member name and password in MobileMe System Preferences." click [OK] a few times and it goes away for a while... click [open mobileMe preferences] and get message "Your MobileMe account has been upgraded (!!) to iCloud"

I have a couple of AVI clips inside of my photo albums and it's causing problems. When I try to publish it it gives me this error. I deleted all my clips and just published the photos and that worked fine. But the avi clips do not, can anyone help me? it's driving me crazy.

Hope someone might be able to help. I am attempting to copy files from a USB attached to my iMac external hard drive to my new NAS drive system, which is connected through my Airport Extreme by gigabit ethernet.I know the NAS is using a file system that I do not recognize (its a WD ShareSpace, 4TB/3TB Raid 5 NAS), which could be causing the problem. Basically I am attempting to transfer all the files stored on the USB external to the NAS. When I copy all the files and paste them to the NAS through Finder, I get an error saying it could not be completed cause I have Insufficient Privileges to do so. There are thousands of files to go through, but I have pinpointed two folders that are causing the problem, which themselves have thousand of files.

I recently bought 2 4GB sticks of RAM that someone recommended on here, the brand is G.SKILL and I got them from newegg.
The thing is, since installing them I have had 2 kernel panics (gray screen of death) that I wasn't having with my 4GB before.
The thing is, I have run Apple Hardware Test and with 8GB I get this error: 4MEM/62/40000000 0x84de1318
So I take out both sticks and stick them in the reverse slots, and I get: 4MEM/65/40000000 0x84e0d318
So I am thinking it must be one of the sticks of ram. So I take them both out and put 1 in the bottom slot, no issues. Stick the other one in, again no issues. So I put one into the top slot to see if maybe a slot has a problem and I once again have no issues when running the extended tests.
So, I decide that maybe I just need to retry putting the ram in again and I get this error, slightly different this time.4MEM/66/40000000 0x84e11318
I really don't know what is going on here, nothing is plugged into the computer, and the RAM modules seem to be fine on their own. I guess for now I am going to stick the Apple RAM back in and see if it throws a similar error.

I have Entrourage linked to my bigpond and orcon accounts. For some reason it has suddenly started not being able to send messages, but can still receive messages. I have not changed any of my settings so don't understand why it suddenly says "An operation on server timed out. The server may be busy...."
I can still send emails via my hotmail account though which is also set up through Entourage.
I have recently changed internet providers so I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it.
I changed my settings Default SMTP from 25 to 587 as per response on your site to same problem in 2007.

My mail has stopped being able to receive email from yahoo. Everything is set up properly and it was working fine up until a couple of days ago. Mail seems to have problems connecting to the server.I can receive but not send. When I use the connectivity doctor it stays for ages trying to connect to the yahoo server, sometimes it connects after a few minutes, sometimes it doesn't connect at all. I have no problems sending or receiving emails from my ipod, other computers or yahoo itself, the only problem is with Mail.
