OS X V10.7 Lion :: Use Outlook For A Mac I Keep Getting Repeated Emails
Apr 14, 2012
Whenever I run Outlook Send/Receive, in addition to my new emails, I keep getting the same 8 old emails. Now they are starting to duplicate themselves. I had over 2000 the last time.
Using Yahoo in Outlook on OS X Mountain Lion - deleted emails repeatedly reappear in in-box after a minute or so, but when I delete them from the Trash they no longer reappear. This has been going on for weeks
I have a MBP1,1 completely updated and OS 10.6.4 is now experiencing repeated hanging sessions where the beach ball shows up for 20 seconds at a time. I tried repairing the disk and repairing permissions, both with the disc upon startup and just running OS X normally. However, each time I repair, the same 3 files are always fixed and a 4th file that was not being able to be repaired at all. I don't think it's RAM problem because Windows runs smoothly, but this issue is frustrating. Should I just reinstall OS X.
I just purchased my first IMac 21.5". I am having problems with opening some emails that were created in outlook express. When I try to open them it asks what program to use to open it. When I check the properties of the attachment it says the file type is .email.
When I tried to set up Outlook.com account with Mail I was not able to locate Outlook.com settings automatically like one would on iPhone. Anyhow, I set it up manually using the IMAP settings. It works great but the only problem is that it does not push emails instantly. It checks for email in set intervals. How can I set this to push emails?
mom recently got a Mac, which I'm about to start setting up for her. She was previously using an XP PC, and her biggest concern in terms of switching is making sure that she still has all her old emails on the computer. Is there a nice, easy way to transfer all data from Outlook Express (including all old emails stored on the computer) to a Mac? Broadening the scope a little more, is there anything I should know before I start backing up all of her files? Is there an easy way to go about moving everything from "My Documents" to the home folder on the Mac? I will have both computers on a home network as I'm doing this to make sure everything I'm doing is working as I'm doing it.
How do I resend and redirect emails? The option are no longer there.
If I enable sync services it says it will merge my calendars and address book. I want to overwrite my Outlook data with ical and address book data but the option doesn't seem to be there. How do I ensure that I don't end up with duplicates?
I have been using for outlook 2011 without any dramas until yesterday when i got a new mobile broadband ISP (Telstra). I can receive emails fine but when I try to send any I get the following error:
"Outlook cannot connect to the server. Verify that your computer is connected to the network."
I was deleting all my emails from outlook express. I did something wrong (I think I might have hit smart mailbox or something to that affect) and now I only have the bar at the top - nothing else - do not know how to fix or restore. Email account is still good - I can access it on laptop - no problem
I've got a work emailadress active on Apple Mail on my computer at work and I got the same account active on Outlook on my home computer. The thing is however that I'm receiving emails on Apple Mail that I'm not receiving in Outlook and vica versa.Does anyone have any experience with that? I couldn't find any similar problems on the internet.
As a precursor to my question perhaps I ought to admit that I don't yet have my old and less-old iMacs 'talking' to one another. (The former is of the translucent, coloured-bodied type and the latter an iMac G4.) Do please be aware that I'm not technical in the least. (My pen-name is no accident.) Could some kind soul tell me where I may find a jargon-free, step-by-step guide to transferring OE e-mails in OS 9 to Entourage in OS X 10.4.11
I'm running 10.7.4 on a fairly old macbook pro. I have FileVault 2 for the boot disk. I use SuperDuper! to make clones of this onto an external disk, and it has, twice in the last few weeks, failed to make a copy complaining about what turns out to be filesystem damage. I fix this by doing recovery boot & using Disk Utility to unlock and check the boot disk. Disk Utility finds damage, and fixes it. Both times it has been incorrrect block counts in a tarred up copy of ~/Library/Preferences which I make daily. I find this a bit terrifying as it means I can no longer trust the system: does anyone know what is going on? I don't think I ever had any kind of filesystem damage like this pre-Lion.
I'm having repeated crashes, most recent was MAIL.app and while puting together this request my CONSOLE crashed! All with the same Type & Codes! I see a number of referrences to this type of issue but the answers don't seem to fit my issue.
My OS software updater continual requests that I install HP Printer Sofware Update 2.9. I install it and there is no warning of failure. The next time the updater checks it reports the software needs to be installed. How can I correct this problem?
Apple mail out of office rule is sending auto replies to all emails not just newly received emails--HELP! I set up the rule according to another apple support thread and instead of only sending the reply to new mail received, it was sent to all messages I believe that were in my INBOX, I only had a few but several people that hadn't sent me emails since I set up the rule, received the OUT OF OFFICE reply. Here is the procedure I followed for the out of office rule-[URL]I just used my email account which is a business account- not an ECU account but these rules according to the apple thread apply for all emails.
I have a user who just switched from Mac Mail to Outlook 2011. Getting a strange issue when sending to users on Outlook 2010 PC.
When sending a message, users on Outlook 2011 and people viewing the message via web mail can see the message fine. It reports that it's a digitally signed message (just one sentence), and the certificates look fine. Via the web, the message appears fine. It says: "This message has a digital signature. The digital signature could not be validated because the S/MIME control is not available." However, it comes up fine.
However, users on Outlook for PC (my version is 2010), cannot read it. I first get a preview pane error "This item cannot be displayed in the Reading Pane. Open the item to read its contents." And when I double-click on the message, I get a pop up window "Your Digital ID name cannot be found by the underlying security system."
Anyone can provide clues why other Outlook MAC users and via the web the message can be read, but just not PC Outlook users for now?
I will be switching from Outlook 2007 to Office for Mac Outlook 2011 for my business email/calendar/contacts. I am pleased with Outlook 2007, but despise my PC otherwise. I will be using Microsoft Exchange as my email server. My concerns: Calendar Syncing, Accessing Archived PST files, Transitioning current mail folders.
I have a couple questions regarding this switch:
- Will Office for Mac Outlook 2011 accommodate by business needs and offer a comparable application as Office 2007 (PC version)?
- What roadblocks or issues should I be aware of when making this switch?
I updated to Lion, but now my mail looks like outlook I want it to look like it did before I updated with the list of messages above which can be sorted easily by date/subject/sender etc.....simply by clicking on header above. Now my messages are on the left and it looks just like the outlook mail account I hate at work? how to make it look like it did before I updated?
We use Exchange 2007 in our office. My mail, notes, and tasks all work fine in my Outlook 2011 for MAC. The calendar is blank. I have removed and added the account twice. It's been this way for more than a week. My calendar is fine when I go through outlook web access. It is also working on my iphone. Others in the office using the same Lion version have no problems. I added my account to another MAC with 10.6.2 and everything, including calendar, works fine.

I use a Mac book pro. the HDD is partitioned on which on one part i run mac osx Lion and on the other Windows 7. Presently i do my work in windows 99 percent of time. I want to switch entirely to mac. on windows i use MS Office with outook 2010. i want to switch entirely to Mac and thn remove windows from my computer.
the question is how do i move the outlook data (mails(since 20030 contacts(over 4000), calander, notes et all) and all documents, music, videos bookmarks etc to Mac OSX on the partitioned portion of the SAME HDD? i have read many posts that advise how to do it from a PC to Mac but none that help when all the data is on the same HDD. after migration, i want to delete the partition.
