Jan 9, 2008Since upgrading to Leopard, I am unable to open .eml attachments in Entourage 04. They try to open in Mail. I didn't have this problem before upgrading.

Mar 17, 2010I suddenly can't open office documents (ppt, word or excel docs) in entourage when people send them to me as attachments. i think there was a software update recently, and maybe it was this that caused it. But, it is driving me crazy. I can open the attachments inside mac mail fine. In Entourage, says they may not be a ppt, or word, etc. doc, or that they may be "in-use."

May 26, 2008I have Office 2008 Home and Student installed on my MBP. I recently upgraded to a hosted Exchange solution and they offer a download of Entourage 2008 that will allow Exchange Server interaction. When I loaded that version over top of my install, Entourage will not open. It gives me an error about the identity not being able to open the item.

Jan 31, 2009I keep getting an error message "Database Daemon Fatal Error" when trying to open Entourage 2008. I tried removing and re-installing Office, but each time I open Entourage I keep getting the same message: the Database Daemon has encountered an unknown error. The daemon will need to quit, and Entourage may need to be force quit.

May 22, 2012If an email is either replied or forwarded to me I am unable to open any of the attachments from the originial messages. So unless someone forwards me an email and includes an attachment directly in their emial to me I'm not able to open any attachments. In the email this is how the attachments appear:<CBA_COMPS_5.2.12_PDF.pdf><Screen Shot 2012-05-17 at 2.10.18 PM.png> They are just text and not clickable. How can I make it so that I can open them?

Feb 2, 2010When I double click on an file that shows up in the downloads window it will not open anymore. I made a brand new user and tried it, same thing continues to happen.

May 27, 2009We send to our clients four pdfs attached to one mail when they purchase our services - they and our colleagues in accounts receive 8 attachments - copies of the pdf as .png or .bin or attachment (internet explorer 4.5 document) which is either a copy of the email text or blank. Cannot find anything in the settings, tried to change encoding, badgered our entourage and our isp.

Dec 1, 2005I've seen lots of threads go by about importing e-mail from one program to another, and my case is seemingly simpler, but I have had no luck so far.
I want to import into Entourage the e-mail from a backup of the disk. I know how to import mail into Entourage from other e-mail programs and I know how to import mail into Entourage from an archive created by exporting from Entourage, but I cannot figure out how to import from a backup of the folders under the "/Users/(username)/Documents/Microsoft User Data" folder, under which is where Entourage stores mail.

Sep 23, 2009Why do attachments rec'd on my mac (10.4.11) through aol have to be downloaded before being opened? Then you have to open a zip file or open a variety of folders before you get to the item sent. Other computers allow you to just click on the attachment and the file opens immediately.

And I have checked all plug-ins and they are up to date.When I click on an attachment, like a file that my professor has uploaded, such as a study guide...nothing will open.It doesn't have an error message or anything. This started two days ago.I haven't done anything out of the ordinary to cause this issue.If I scroll over the link that I want to open, it says Javascript://.It isn't a problem with the website, because other people are able to open these links.

Apr 29, 2012When I'm in Mail and try to open or save to my computer and then open a pdf in Preview, I get an error message -"The file “Proposal to Seattle City Light - Wolverine Study 6Mar2012.pdf” could not be opened. It may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn’t recognize." This happens with all pdfs in Mail. However, if I go to email account on the Internet and download the pdf it opens no problem. This is a new problem, though I can't say if it started happening as soon as I upgraded to Lion or if it happened sometime after (definitely not before). Â

Aug 22, 2014This started happening out of the blue a couple of months ago – Everytime I download something, usually word documents from email or an update (basically anything that makes the file whizz into the top right hand corner and start its downloading), about 30 seconds later the spinning ball comes up and the computer grinds to a halt and the only option is to hold down the on button to restart.
When it loads up the thing hasn’t downloaded. So at the moment there is no way to open email attachments which is essential in my job.
P.S: It’s an old company laptop so don’t have the original disks for any software such as word so deleting and re-installing is not an option. I also have no recollection of downloading anything that could’ve affected this.

OS X :: Entourage Keeps Crashing When Ever Open Any Message In Inbox?
Jan 8, 2009I have never used Entourage before but I am on an imac using OS X version 10.4.11 2008 Office edition.
When ever I go to open anything in my inbox in crashes on me then restarts.
After I did an update it stopped for a bit then just started crashing again.
Other people in my office are having similar issues, either they cant even open Entourage or its giving them a data error message.

Sep 11, 2009long story short, I have set up an email signature on my mac which includes a PNG graphic. On its own this is fine and can be opened and viewed as intended at the other end by PC. However, when I include an attachment (ie word, powerpoint or excel doc) the PNG graphic and all text which should appear below the PNG graphic in the body of the email is not there when received by a PC.

Apr 21, 2012I'm unable to send attachments using a either of my 2 Gmail IMAP accounts, one @gmail.com and the other is a business email (ie not a @gmail address). I can send them with no problem via my studio Mac Pro, but my MacBook Pro won't even attempt to send the attachment, with the email popping up saying it Cannot send message using the server.Â
At first I thought it was because I had Gmail's 2-step authenticaion but again, I've never had problems sending attachments from my Mac Pro. If I log on to my webmail, I can send with no problem on the laptop.Â
I've removed the account in Mail on my MBP and readded it to Mail with no joy. Does anyone know what could be causing it? I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure out why! My MobileMe account can send attachments, though the Mail seems to constantly forget the MobileMe passwords which is also really annoying!Â
Software :: Entourage - Could Not Open That Feature (Mail Error)
Sep 8, 2009This morning my Entourage mail worked just fine, this afternoon, I try to open it and "could not open that feature, mail error." I have tried to rebuild the database by holding down the option key at launch and selecting both the typical and advanced rebuilds and neither one will go - the rebuild never starts. I am on a PowerBook G4, running MS Office 10.1.4. I am so frustrated - I get the mail dialogue box, but I can't see messages in my in box. I can sometimes see emails that have been filed, but it is not consistent.
