I need to delete Firefox ver. 0.8 from my Mac and then reinstall it fresh. Could anyone tell me where the preferences are for this application, so I can completely uninstall and start fresh?

Time consuming.What i'd really like to do is tell iTunes I want it to only see the files in my media folder.I want undo what I did when I told it to bring these other files into the library.

I just bought a macbook and wanted to copy over all my firefox settings. I found this site http://www.10voltmedia.com/blog/2008...ith-mozbackup/ which explains how. I did most of the steps like using mozbackup and making it's exported files into a zip but when it came to replacing the folder they said on the mac I can't seem to find a firefox folder. Even the mozilla folder I found doesn't have anything in. I tried finding it by doing a search for the addons I have installed into firefox thinking I might locate it that way but no luck. Another webpage said I could find the location of the folder through fiefox itself but the way it told me also didn't seem to exist on my mac. How can I find my firefox folder?

It was working fine until this morning. Whenever I click on an application in the dock, it opens up the applications folder. And whenever I click a link in firefox, it opens in a new tab, and is incredibly annoying!

View 4 Replies View Relateditunes has decided to go all wierd on me and started playing some of my songs but not playing others. When i try to play one that will not play i get the apple logo on the top of the screen where the amount of time your into the song is normally shown and no matter how many times i press play nothing happens.
Also the songs that won't play all are coming from the same folder and when i delete them and try to add them to the library nothing happens and they aren't added. When i try to play the songs from that folder using a program other than itunes the songs play fine.
I am new to Automator, and even though I have been tinkering around with it for about an hour, I can't seem to create an action.
What I want to do is have Automator automatically take the contents of a specific folder on my hard drive, print the contents of the folder (usually PDFs), then delete the files. I use dropbox, so when I place a pdf into this folder from my laptop on the go, it would be nice to come home to it printed, and no longer in the folder taking up space.
In my Applications Folder I have an alias Applications Folder.When I deleted the alias folder it wiped out all my applications on my hard drive.Does anyone know how I can delete the alias folder without deleting all my Applications?

I was helping a friend by reformatting his pc and reinstalling windows because it was slow, when I was downloading the drivers for it on my MacBook Pro (didn't have access to the router since it's downstairs and his pc didn't have a wireless card), it downloaded a folder filled with locked files, it comes several folders deep and all of the files are locked, fun. So I tried to delete it using sudo rm -r, but it says I don't have sufficient privileges, anyone know a command I can use to delete it all? I'd rather not do it by hand, that'd take forever.
View 10 Replies View RelatedIt's called Google Desktop. It's an old version (1.1) that doesn't work and I've been trying to get rid of it for ages. Whenever I uninstall, it says it will be deleted when Firefox restarts, but it doesn't; when it restarts, it says 1 new add-on has been installed, and it's Google Desktop! I've even tried going into my Firefox profile folder's Extensions folder in ~/Library/Application Support/Mozilla and deleting all the add-ons, but the Google Desktop one reappears the second I open Firefox!

Tools > Clear Private Data > Select All, only seems to delete everything back to a certain date. So when I start to type Google in the address bar, I get some stupid old Google search from a few months back. It happens with some other older sites too.What can I do to erase all my history? I'm not covering my tracks or anything, just have some annoying things pop up in the address bar that aren't relevant.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have tried moving them to the trash, as well as using the move to trash button. They seam to go to the trash can but when I delete the trash they are still in the file. I am trying to clear out some old files so that I can have room on my start up disk. My Disk is full and it is making it hard for me to open more then one file. I am getting an external hard drive soon but don't want these files on it.

I was cleaning up some of the unused pictures that came pre-installed with Leopard on my iMac, such as the abstracts and solid colours, that are used for changing the desktop backgrounds; but after getting rid of the original pictures and folders I am still left with the folders as being able to be selected when I try to change a desktop background.
I can't use the minus sign to remove the folders from the list.
Is there some other way of removing the folders?
It's not really a big deal, but it is kind of annoying having empty folders showing up on the list.
Can anyone shed some light on this problem?

New MacBook Pro. Created test user account for apple to debug a problem. Problem fixed, I tried to delete account, but it just hangs sating deleting account. Trying to quit fails saying System Preferences is busy. Â
Can force quit, but account is still there. Â
My file cache is using over a GB of memory. How do i set the system to free up memory that is being held but not used?
