Applications :: Putting Captions Below Each Photo In IPhoto Book Possible
Oct 18, 2010
Is there any way of putting captions below each photo in an iPhoto Book? I can't see any way of doing this in iPhoto (I have 09). The only way I can see is to put a caption below the photo using Photoshop or Graphic Converter, for example, and put that photo in the Book. That is a bit tedious. Typing directly into the Book would surely be easier.
Apparently, the iPhoto Facebook export tool (built into iPhoto '09) uses the image title for the Facebook caption rather than the description of the photo.
recovering the file of a photo book that i accidentally deleted by mistake...I've tried booting iphoto again with option and command depressed and tried recover the library. but nothing shows up.. is there any programs or file type that i can locate to get it back.
I am considering putting together an IPhoto book as an 18th birthday present for my daughter. I'm thinking the picture oriented book. Has anyone else bought one of these books, and what do you think of them?
thinking of upgrading to iPhoto 11 and just want to make sure that the ability to make calendars is still there. On [URL] it mentions books and cards but can't find any references to calandars.
Don't know if anyone has made an album using iPhoto yet, but if you haven't, you should. I needed some additional portfolios to place around some places where my images are displayed, and I was really getting tired of making my own.
The quality is very good - I got the hardbound 20-page book with black pages and it looks awesome. My only complaint id that they are currently having problems accepting books with Type 1 post script fonts.Had the book in three days after ordering it right through iPhoto.
I need to figure out how to add text to a photo book project in iphoto. I want to send this as a gift to my father... I chose my initial layout, added pages (in a particular order of photos on a time line) and there isnt alot of text in the layout i chose.
I would love to add text to the photos/pages but cant seem to figure it out.
I'm going to be teaching a number of staff at the local high school (which is going over to the Apple platform from Novell) how to use iPhoto but, I don't want to use any of my personal photos as examples. I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me where I could find the sample photos that are loaded onto macs in the Apple store.
I have several folders that have albums in them. When I click on a specific folder/album, "mushrooms", I receive the spinning rainbow wheel and then Iphoto crashes. This only occurs with this folder/album. All the other folders/albums work fine.
I noticed that this box pops up everytime I go to close iPhoto and it's an extremely slow process. Each time I have closed iPhoto, it takes about 5 to 10 minutes to "save this critical information." Before I upgraded to my new 27" iMac, it would never do this and iPhoto would close right away. Is this standard now? Why does it take so long to do its thing and close?
When importing photos into iPhoto, does iPhoto make an exact copy of the photo when importing it into the database? Or does it compress the file to a certain degree?
I did an extensive search for this topic before posting, so I guess it's safe to ask. Are there any places where you can download other iPhoto book themes? I would really like to have more variation with the books. Or if there isn't any place to download new ones from, is there a way to make your own? I know there are Keynote themes and iDVD themes, but are there iPhoto book themes? Or are they way too complex compared to iDVD and Keynote?
I'm surprising my girlfriend with a 2 week holiday to Cancun in Mexico for her christmas present and I thought it would be a nice idea to get loads of pictures of the resort and cancun itself and make a hard back book in iPhoto to give to her. There are 20 pages in the standard book. I'm looking to get an extra large book. Is there a way for me to delete some of the pages or do I have to use 20? Don't think I'll find 20 pages worth of photos of Cancun!
Does anybody have any coupons for the iphoto book printing? About to print a few books from our wedding and could use a coupon if anybody has one or knows of any that would be great.
I've been working on creating some books in iPhoto, and I'm running into all sorts of issues with Apple's "smart" page formatting. When I choose a page layout, iPhoto automatically changes the layout based on what type of photos you put where. For example: Say I choose a 2-photo layout for one page with 2 horizontal photo placeholders side by side (and large blank spaces above/below). If I drag a portrait photo to one of the placeholders, the arrangement automatically changes to 1 squarish portrait size, and one long landscape photo. If I drag another portrait photo onto the other landscape placeholder, the page automatically becomes a full bleed, 2-portrait page. This is 100% consistent and predictable - however this info appears nowhere in iPhoto or in Apple's support pages. Or anywhere that I can find.
Problem: It gets really complex with multi-photo pages. I'm using a few 6-photo pages, which the default template is: 1 big portrait, 1 regular landscape and 4 quarter size landscapes. I can't sort out the logic for the auto-formatting of this page. If I drag a portrait photo to one of the small photos, sometimes it changes the page into two normal size landscape photos and four half-frame portrait photos. This looks great when arranged on a diagonal, but there's no way to do that on purpose - and the iPhoto "magic" arranging is seemingly inconsistent here. (Often it stacks the landscape photos on one side of the page with 4 small portrait photos on the other - which looks chunky.) <brief rant> Further infuriating is that the various full-bleed books have totally different formatting options. And "undo" does NOT undo magic iPhoto's magic format changes. </brief rant>
Help: I've googled the bejeezus out of this, and searched here for hours. Is there a helpful website out there, anywhere, that have these logic strings revealed? So that users can arrange photo books to look good on purpose? I can't understand why apple doesn't allow an "advanced" mode where the format box shows all the options, and have a toggle for "no magic auto formatting." Note: I'm currently running iLife 11 on a up-to-date new MacBook Pro. However, I had the exact same issues with the previous version of iPhoto, so I believe the magic code to be universal.
I'm doing a picture book for the first time. All has been going well until I found some pictures that are in my library, but do not show up in the picture bar when adding pictures to the photobook. Seems that they just stop at a certain point almost like I've filled a capacity of some kind.
I've installed Leopard and iPhoto '09 on my Mac. I have iPhoto 6 on an external hard drive. How do I import the iPhoto 6 photos and book projects into iPhoto '09 (I also want iPhoto '09 library to be on the external hard drive)?
Last December I ordered two books through iPhoto, and was very happy with them. Just tried to order another to ship to a friend in the USA and somehow iPhoto won't let me change the address to a US address, just gives me a list of European countries. I'm in England.
My husband is a retired newsman/photographer/editor/writer. I want to make a book with his photos, photos of him, his columns, articles about him, but I don't know how to get that stuff into the book--I'm such a novice at this. Do I scan pages of printed material and insert it as a photo? Do I need to buy I-Life or can I do it from I-Photo?
I'm making a book of my holiday, its going great until I came to the map. The pointer always starts in Sydney, a hassle but I can work with it. My problem is as we went to Seymour in Victoria Australia, I type in Seymour and I'm given a dozen USA possibilities but I'm offered a search for my Seymour option. I take this, starting in Sydney and I drag the pointer to Seymour in Victoria (It says Seymour on the map) but in my book it changes the name to Mitchell. It does this for a number of stops. I could probably cope with one but when you go to 50 towns and you're showing off your clever Mac and all people go is I've never heard of Mitchell wheres that and I'm sure you can guess what my answer is, I don't know I've never been there. Particularly when the photo has Seymour Railway station on the photo.
I have made a book in iPhoto, which I can export as a movie to include in iDVD. Where can I edit the duration that a page is shown during a slideshow? With a 'normal' iphoto slideshow this is made possible by settings.
Started archiving all my old photos and creating dvds. started off using iphoto which is great for compiling a quick slideshow to a couple of music tracks. i then imported these to idvd and created my first dvd project which i was pretty pleased with for a first attempt. The only thing i found annoying was that i could not link all the slideshows together in idvd so that they played one after another, instead you had to come back to the menu and start the next one...so i thought i would import these slideshow movies into imovie and create a complete movie with chapters, titles etc. but when i did this i noticed that the quality of the slideshow in imovie was very noticeably worse.
being new to mac i wasnt sure what was up so i thought about importing the photos directly into imovie and working with them there. but once again the quality was really poor compared to the iphoto and idvd slideshows. after this i though maybe its just a preview problem and all will be well when i burn them to dvd and watch them on tv...so i burnt a dvd with one slideshow created in iphoto and imported into idvd and also put on a movie of the same slide show that id imported into imovie and back.
anyway long story short quality still better in slide show created in iphoto.
I ahve June 2009 UMBP running Snow Leopard. Can someone give me an idiots step by step guide on how I can make a copy of the photo's in my iphoto collection and put them on a blank DVD? I have tried copy & paste but this leaves a small "tick" at the bottom corner of each pic and I am not sure what this means?
As in taking a picture where something in the pic points to the right and flipping it so that it points left? I've been trying and can't seem to find out how to do it. On other programs, this is a basic option.
