I am importing an album into i tunes but each song is going on individually so i can not listen to the whole album at once. could this be down to the fact that each song is a duet with another artist?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to change an album in itunes. I drag the whole album in itunes: no problem. The artist name is spell slightly different than other albums by the same artist so when I transfer to my ipod you get two artists in your list: problem for me. I select every track in the album, right click and get info. Change the artist name and click ok. The artist name for every track changes however it always leaves the first track on its own while the others move to their own (splitting the album): problem When I check the info/tags nothing seems out of place on that one track? Not the first time this has happened but it seems to be on random albums.

So the album will be split into individual songs and I can not play the whole abum just the indivdual songs. It lists it like this whether i select artist or album. It also does not come up as a compilation because it is the same artist for the whole album.

I just purchased an album from iTunes. All songs play except 1. When I attempt to play the fourth song, I'm presented a dialog box telling me that I'm not authorized to play the song on the same computer I used to download it. When I enter my Mac ID and Password to authorize the song, I receive another dialog telling me that the song is already authorized to play on this computer. I attempt to play the song, and once again informed that I'm not authorized to play the song, going on to state that I've only authorized two out of the five allowed.
I've gone into my Mac account, and only three devices are authorized (Mac, iPhone, iPad). I went ahead an removed authorization on this Mac, then re-added my authorization. Still, the same song out of 20 will not play due to authorization.
Why are the songs from an album I purchased from itunes only playing about half of each song???

I've got a pretty big collection of music on iTunes - almost 1000 albums - and I'm pretty anal about the way it's stored and managed and I regularly change the song and album information to suit my own "house style". All my music was stored on a Dell laptop and was fine - I had no problems with changing and editing the information. I recently bought a MacBook Pro and shifted all the music files from the old machine onto the new one (a lengthy and frustrating process) and since then, I've had a lot of hassle in terms of amending and organising my iTunes collection. A lot of the music I've purchased from the iTunes store has reverted back to its original state, no matter how many times I've changed it.
For example:
Lana Del Rey's Born to Die (Deluxe Version). I've removed the "Deluxe Version" from the title but I quit iTunes or sync it with my iPod, it automatically adds it back. I've changed the information in the song info, I've even changed it in the sort info just to be sure, but it always changes back.
The same with the Anthems Electronic 80s compilation. I want to call it Ministry of Sound: Electronic 80s and remove it from Various Artists (by deleting the album artist from the information). But after iTunes is quit or its been synced, the same thing happens. It appears as two albums on my iPod - a handful of tracks appear under the old title while the bulk of them appear under the new one.
It's happening across loads of albums, all ones I've downloaded (the stuff ripped from CDs seems to be okay). I've done as much as I can in terms of the song info but no matter what I do, it just reverts back when the programme's quit or I sync my iPod. I don't know if it's anything to do with the fact they're in the Cloud or they've been imported from a Dell laptop or there's an underlying problem with iTunes ...
I had purchaser the single of the Payphone from iTunes and when the album was released I did a "Complete my Album" purchase of the same Album. iTunes won't play the single when palying the album. It is not shown as being in the album at all, even the track number is omited. How can I get that single to play in order when selecting the Album without creating a special playlist just for this album. I thought when you did a "Complete my album" it would do just that not omit it from the album and keep the single as a separate track.

I run a college internet-only radio station. The system we use works from the iTunes library. Each week, I download music from several music distributors, an average of 20 albums per week. Some of these downloads do not come with album artwork attached. Of those, some have artwork available through the iTunes store.
The catch is that each time I tell iTunes to get album artwork, it starts at the top of its list and works through the (as of today) 1,817 albums. It meticulously checks albums for which it already has artwork as well as albums for which it has already failed to find artwork on previous occassions. This process takes about 45 minutes. I've searched the options, but haven't found a "Check for album artwork only on recent additions" option.
I have a problem with SOME of my albums in itunes. Some of them ( aprox 20%) are displaying the sogns within an album in an alphabetical order. I do not have "track" in the column header selected. I have tried selecting "track #"but this does not rectify the track names into the original album order. I can not manually enter the track number either in the "track #" field to manually rectify this as iTunes does not allow you do this. It is really frustrating that I have to listen to some of my albums in alpabetical song name order rather than the order the artist wanted me to. Is it possible to reformat a single partition of a disk w/o reformatting the entire disk?Or must one reformat the entire disk? In DU, If I click on the volume/partition in question, I do NOT get the tab “Partition.” If I click on the disk, not just the volume/partition in question , then I do get the tab “Partition.” Also, does using DU to secure erase a volume by overwriting with 0s, cause a format issue? I would like to go from looking at the Library and all the albums together to going to just a single album. I used to be able to do this by changing the behavior of the arrows next to the song information for Album to direct to the album in the Library instead of the iTunes store.
However, in iTunes 10, it appears that the arrow links are removed permanently. Is this true? If so, is there a simple way to go from a highlighted song in a playlist or the Library directly to the song's album like you used to be able to, without using the genre/composer/artist/album browser (I have too many albums for that to be efficient, and this is one instance in which I think search is not the right solution).
I have several folders that have albums in them. When I click on a specific folder/album, "mushrooms", I receive the spinning rainbow wheel and then Iphoto crashes. This only occurs with this folder/album. All the other folders/albums work fine.
