Simple mp3 won't import into iTunes.... done repair permissions, checked most folders I can think of for read/write permissions..."trying to copy to disk you do not have enough access privileges".

I have an audio CD that my PowerBook will not read. I've read this CD in other media drives (such as my car's CD player and another computer's CD player), and I've read a different CD in my Mac's drive.
It appears to me that the issue then is this particular CD and my computer.
First, the CD is in very good condition, with no visible scratches unless you really scrutinize the read side. the label side has no damage at all. It is a 15 year old CD, but was probably played very few times when it was new, and has been simply sitting on a shelf for over a decade.
sometimes I insert the CD and after several seconds of unusual noises from my CD drive, I am able to begin to play it in itunes. However, after 1 to 3 minutes it inevitably will begin to skip so badly that itunes stops playing it, and often hangs up, forcing me to use 'force quit'. other times I insert the CD and after several seconds of unusual noises from my CD drive, the drive simply spits the CD back out, without ever having read it at all.
Is it possible that there was something about the way an older CD is encoded that my mac cannot deal with?
I recently purchased an MP3 album from Amazon, which downloaded fine. Unlike previous times, however, the Amazon Downloader app didn't load the music into my iTunes library. I tried to manually add the album to my iTunes Library, with no luck. I was able to load the album into my iPhone Music app by dragging and dropping on my iPhone device in iTunes (after turning off iTunes Match).. If I double-click on the songs on my hard drive, they will play in iTunes, but do not import.
I am running Mac OS 10.7.3, iTunes 10.6.1 (7) and have iTunes Match active on my computer.

My library was removed but was brought back by importing the .xml document. Two problems: One: all my tv shows and music videos are in the movie section. I have over 800 tv shows and music vids, is there a way to edit video type in mass form? two: some of my album artwork is randomly missing. iTunes refuses to retrieve any.

I recently re-installed Tiger on my macbook because I'd accidentally deleted system preferences and I needed it back. I still have all of my HD data, except that iTunes will bounce once in the dock, and then disappear. It doesn't open to my library like it usually would.

I recently started doing a bunch of music importing on my rev. a 1.8 ssd. I must say I am quite impressed with the ~24x apple lossless import speeds I am seeing. this ssd kicks butt. Its quite a bit faster than my old 2.4 imac or white macbook.

View 3 Replies View RelatedHow to import AudioBooks from Macbook OS 10.4.1 onto an Ipad2?
I have many audiobooks which I am currently attempting to have re-loaded via the Apple Support network and have requested that these Audiobooks purchased in good faith between 2008 - 2009 be made available for download on our recently purchased Ipad2 via ITunes. This download procedure has worked very well for the 18 songs purchased in the same period. However, I have followed a discussion on the Apple Support community by TASA posted on the Nov 13 2011 and have made a similar polite request to the Apple Support afficionados, so far with no success. My question is this How can i transfer the Audiobook files which appear as m4b across to the Ipad2. I cannot sync the MacBook because the operating system is a mismatch. Attempting to use a camera connection kit by Apple and using an SD card to copy a single audi file has not worked. What other recourse of action is there?
It is all very well suggesting that Audiobooks can only be downloaded once, as has been mentioned by a discussion pundit. However this was not in the Terms and Conditions from 2008, of which I have a copy.

I purchased three books and downloaded them onto my computer. I now want to read them on my computer not my iPhone and I do not have an iPad. I was told that an icon next to the books purchased indicates that it's for the ipad or iphone only. I had no idea that this was the case when I purchasd them.
1) can I return these?
2) If not, is there a way to read them on my computer that I may not be aware of - e.g. an app for the computer?

Just went from Windows to mac and want to bring my windows itunes playlists. when I hit export and save it on a usb and hit import in mac itunes, then I get the playlist but its all empty. It kinda sucks if I have to sort out all the good stuff again, so I hope I can get my old playlist back. I have it on my ipod touch as well, so I dunno if you can transfer playlist from ipod to mac

View 6 Replies View Related I'm trying to change my icons in mac. I've been using Liteicon for this, but since (apparently) you can't change the iTunes icon using it, I tried doing it by going to the applications folder, selecting iTunes, going to "get info" and then dragging the new icon to the top left corner where the iTunes icon is.
Problem is, it won't change. The cursor will change into a cursor with a little green ball with a + in it, but there is no effect. I tried unlocking the lock on the bottom right side of the window, made no difference.
I've googled this and searched this forum for a couple of hours, got nothing.
By the way, I changed the Firefox icon the same exact way, no problem. I'm running as an admin as well.
I often borrow audiobook CDs from the library and have no trouble importing them to iTunes. But many of them come as mp3 CDs, which has been causing me lots of headaches. First of all, iTunes doesn't recognize those kinds of CDs. I used to be able to get around this by simply using the File > Add to Library feature. But with iTunes 10.6, this no longer seems to work and I haven't found a simple way to upload the tracks to iTunes. When I Google this problem, I find lots of answers to copying mp3 tracks from iTunes onto CDs, but I want to do the opposite.

I began to rebuild my library by re-importing all my CDs. i put my first CD into the player and a message of error popped out: "The file xyz couldnt be converted. I usually convert mkv files in m4v files for apple tv 3 using "Anyvideo converter HD" and then import the m4v file into my iTunes library before streaming it to my tv through my ATV3.The programme works great. So does the ATV3. However, from times to times, I cannot import the m4v file into itunes. I have tried a bunch of technics but nothing has worked so far.

I have a some MP4 video files I got from a DVD which are "home" made. So no commercial DVD or anything like that.I used Adobe Premiere Pro to convert them in a Quicktime playable format and thought I could now import it to iTunes and sync it on my iPhone or iPad.On a Windows machine I was able to import the movie file but if I let iTunes convert it to the iPhone compatible format it fails. I get a new movie file with the sound but the movie shows only a white screen. On my Mac ( where I actually need it) I wasn't even able to import it into iTunes.
I konw there are many posts around about this matter but none so far could give me a hint to resolve that issue.Does anybody know the exact settings of an mp4 such that I can use it in iTunes on a Mac? I should be able to export it in any format with Adobe Premier Pro but sofar none of the files worked. Even *.mov files wont import into iTunes on my Mac.
