I'm in need of an application that creates a single .jpg with multiple thumbnails within, giving you a preview of a video.
I have found a couple of apps that do this, such as Screen Grabber and QiPo. How ever, none of these are suitable;
Screen Grabber under 10.6 doesn't work with WMV files. The output image file is full of black frames.
QiPo is the best out of all of them, how ever it doesn't allow you to select how many thumbnails to have in the one preview image file (it's pre set to 18).
I have emailed the developer of Screen Grabber regarding a OS X 10.6 fix, but am yet to hear back from him, so in the mean time i am still trying to find a Mac app that can serve my needs.
Will the Quicktime Pro software allow pausing a video and creating a snapshot for printing?

I want to use automator to make a time lapse video, but I'd like the video snapshots taken to come from my external isight camera (not the built-in isight). Â
I see that someone else had the same question a few years back (https://discussions.apple.com/message/11257733#11257733), but I thought I'd try again. Maybe things have changed since 2010?Â
I'm running snow leopard on an early 2008 black macbook.

I take loads of videos of my friends and I snowboarding, wakeboarding, and other stupid stuff. As well as making short films with the footage I like taking snapshots/freeze frames out of the videos to post on facebook and make slideshows. On my old Windows computer with the Kodak MediaImpressions software, although that program *****, I could take good snapshots out of the videos and it saves them as normal photos. But I can't figure out how to do that with iPhoto or iMovie. I know how to do a freeze frame in a project movie on iMovie but that is just in the project and doesnt save the photo.

I have a bunch of almost similar .mkv files. On some of them, I see the MPlayer OSX logo which I use for playback. But on most of them a preview from the video is shown as the icon... Why is that?
View 1 Replies View Relatedsince i use eye tv some thumbnails of video are green like thisi find an eyetv component in quicktime library folder, if i delete it the thumbnails are normal but every time i start eyetv this eyetv will create this component called eyetv mpeg support.component
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I download videos from my camcorder, they show a grey image and have green exe. written in the box. The only way I can view the content is to open it in VLC, but then I can't find VLC from the finder. Also there are tiny horizontal black lines all through the video. I can play the videos on Windows and no black lines appear. How can I view the thumbnail and get rid of the black lines?

I have a folder of .PNG files, which i rendered from 3DS Max, and am now looking for a way to make them into a video, i did this once using adobe premiere elements while in college once, but i dont have that software anymore.
I tried dragging all the files into iMovie, but when i click play each frame zooms in, then out, and each image stays on for about 4 seconds each D:
I have iLife 08 and want to make a slideshow with a combo of photos and videos with music in the background. Will either iPhoto or iMovie handle this task by itself or am i going to have to use a combo of both?

I am just wondering what would be some of the best ways to go about doing that.Basically, I would like to show my slides along with a voiceover lecture on them. I also would like to have the option of showing my face perhaps. I have a 15" MBP Penryn from right before the unibody came out.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAs many of you may or may not have realized, iTunes has an annoying habit of not letting one import any video files not in "iTunes friendly" formats. This confounded me as iTunes presumably used Quicktime for playing... so if Quicktime+Perian/Flip4Mac can play them, why can't iTunes? Sick and tired of having to convert AVIs and other downloaded video types for the sake of having them in iTunes, I sought out a way of fooling iTunes via tweaking the File Type / Creator settings on files so that iTunes would accept them.
Start out by choosing the app/utility of your choice. I use FileBuddy (search here for it) but any number of utilities are capable of doing the job.
I then open up File Buddy, drag the video file/s into the main window and then click "Get Info". In the resulting window, near the bottom right is a pull-down menu labelled "Type". Whatever it is currently set to (in my AVI case, it was "VfW"), change it to "MooV" and click "Save" (or "Change All" if you are dealing with multiple files). Voila! Drag the old files into iTunes and there you go!
I'd like to send a colleague a keynote on a DVD. I thought it would be cool to see me at the same time in a small frame presenting the keynote live, like the feature in ichat theater. I looked in iMovie and in Keynote but didn't find anything.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently installed Aperture 2.1 and love it until....
A large collection of pictures (jpgs) was imported and after 2 days a lot of thumbnails are missing in the library. The images are still there, I can click on the gray spot the image supposed to be and view the preview and master.
It very annoying! I am planning to import about 10.000 images soon and this problem must be solved before.

How do you ungroup page thumbnails in Pages?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSeriously, it's absolutely ridiculous and brings my entire system to a crawl until I restart. Just look at how many page outs I have after iMovie is done making thumbnails of one seven minute clip:
My CPU usage during this process was around 10% so what gives? I have an early 2009 iMac with 4GB's of RAM.
can you please tell me how to preview small thumbnails when i browse .ai(illustrator) or .eps files on mac leopard ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm used to Bridge now, it's faster than iPhoto and I can use my own folder structure instead of the ridiculous "events". Places/Faces and the slideshow of iPhoto is great though.
Anyway, when I'm in "thumbnail view" in Bridge, the thumbnails exceed my screen width. So if I'm on the most right thumbnail on my screen, and I go one right, it goes about 3 more pictures to the right (which I can't see) before jumping to the next row (starting at the most left picture of course).
And I don't see any sliders: no horizontal and no vertical. I can scroll vertically though, but not horizontally.
I have iMovie '09 (8.0.2), and my Mac is full updated as well!
So, i have some mp4 files. I import them into an Event and then there are NO THUMBNAILS! GAH!
I did this a million times in iMovie '08! What is going on here?
Since i come from a Windows world, the first thing i tried is rebooting...no luck
I just opened iPhoto and found that when I click on an "Album" (menu to the left), it just opens up with full size images. It used to display thumbnails and I'd need to click on the image to open it into full size. Is there some option that I inadvertently adjusted to cause this change?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI saw a couple of other threads talking about this and thought we should have a thread where you can show off and share your own custom made Genre thumbnails. In case your not sure how to do it this is a good guide: [URL]. Basically you need to create a jpeg, put it in the right folder (iTunes>Contents>Resources) with the correct name and then adjust a tiny bit of information in the genre plist.
Its very simple and people who have no experience with this kind of stuff will be able to do it easily. Also if (like me) you are annoyed at the fact that some genres are missing you can add your own in the exact same way as in he link posted. Note in mine that Action & Adventure are now two separate genres and i've added Gangster, Kung Fu, Comic & Anime. Mine are all supposed to be the best films of that genre (ok maybe not Transformers ). Pic link now added, download!
