I'd like to send a colleague a keynote on a DVD. I thought it would be cool to see me at the same time in a small frame presenting the keynote live, like the feature in ichat theater. I looked in iMovie and in Keynote but didn't find anything.
View 2 RepliesI opened a slideshow file, probably made with Powerpoint, and it went full screen and is playing Glenn Miller's in the Mood over and over. Strangely, I can't see any of the images being played and it's just a blank white square in the middle of the fully blacked out screen. What do I press to get this to stop and the program to close?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm stuck on a rather buggy problem. I'm trying to produce animated gifs with transparent backgrounds for incorporation into a Keynote (v. 3) presentation. [The individual frames of the substantial animations I am creating are being produced in Matlab using the "print -dpng" command with white backgrounds, which I then want to make transparent.] I seem to be able to download silly animated gifs with transparent backgrounds from the web that display correctly in Keynote. But when I produce such animations myself using convert [from the imagemagick suite, both the version distributed with fink and the more recent version available at [URL] all frames after the first display with white backgrounds in Keynote (but look ok elsewhere). Optimizing the animated transparent gifs in adobe ImageReady CS (v. 1) Does anyone know a good mac program to make animated gifs (with transparent backgrounds) that display correctly in the latest version of Keynote?

I have an issue using Keynote 09.
I have created a presentation that has a m4v video playing in the background.
The video was the first thing I put in and was just placed on the slide and set to play when the presentatation starts.
The video starts at the beginning automatically and plays for the entirity of the presentation. The presentation is only 2 mins long. Over it are a number of different words all with various animations. There is also a music file playing in the background.
I have then recorded the show with manual timings and now when I play it in Keynote it runs smoothly from start to finish. The video continues to play and the transitions are smooth.
HOWEVER, when I then try and export the presentation as a Quicktime file I encounter a problem. The video starts initially at the beginning of the presentation but the minute any other animation kicks in the video freezes and does not restart. I have tried a large variety of export settings but to no avail. I have also spent time trawling the internet to try and solve this problem but no solution found.
It is very frustrating. I need to export it because I need it as a movile file rather than a keynote presentation.
I have Powerpoint on the PC, and there you are able to rehearse and save timings, i.e; say you have a project and have music in the background, you can go to the next slide depending on when you click 'Next' or whatever? Get what I mean? So you're able to rehearse timings so you don't have to control it, it's kind of like a movie. Let me know how to do this with Keynote 09'.

View 12 Replies View RelatedMy setup is a 27" C2D iMac, 4GB RAM, running SL, all latest updates. iTunes is latest version with the library hosted on an external Drobo connected via FW800. I have no iPods plugged in just now and have disabled automatic sync with my ATV so I know there shouldn't be any tasks running within iTunes itself.
This morning I get a message about a corrupt iTunes library. I restored the file from a backup and after a long time referencing the corresponding .xml file, iTunes loaded up. 95% of the library was fine, but for some reason, it had lost some files, leaving me with exclamation marks scattered around the place. If I manually locate the file, that solves the problem, so while its a pain, I can sort it out, or I guess the new equivalent of consolidate library should clear it up.
Anyway, for the last few hours, iTunes is very slow. Rest of the machine is fine and its not hogging resources according to activity monitor, but its clearly doing something which is making it appear to be un-responding. When I switch to it, it takes a while to appear, then the spinning beach ball, then maybe 30 seconds to a minute later, it becomes active for a short time before becoming unresponsive again.
I have a folder of .PNG files, which i rendered from 3DS Max, and am now looking for a way to make them into a video, i did this once using adobe premiere elements while in college once, but i dont have that software anymore.
I tried dragging all the files into iMovie, but when i click play each frame zooms in, then out, and each image stays on for about 4 seconds each D:

View 2 Replies View RelatedAs many of you may or may not have realized, iTunes has an annoying habit of not letting one import any video files not in "iTunes friendly" formats. This confounded me as iTunes presumably used Quicktime for playing... so if Quicktime+Perian/Flip4Mac can play them, why can't iTunes? Sick and tired of having to convert AVIs and other downloaded video types for the sake of having them in iTunes, I sought out a way of fooling iTunes via tweaking the File Type / Creator settings on files so that iTunes would accept them.
Start out by choosing the app/utility of your choice. I use FileBuddy (search here for it) but any number of utilities are capable of doing the job.
I then open up File Buddy, drag the video file/s into the main window and then click "Get Info". In the resulting window, near the bottom right is a pull-down menu labelled "Type". Whatever it is currently set to (in my AVI case, it was "VfW"), change it to "MooV" and click "Save" (or "Change All" if you are dealing with multiple files). Voila! Drag the old files into iTunes and there you go!
In every Macworld, when speakers use keynote to do their presentation, they can display them self live, talking, walking on stage and this film is show in the display presentation.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have two objects in keynote that do about 14 moves each (spin and move) but I can not get them to go at the same time. The next one will only start when the first one ends. I can't move the second object to the top of the build order because when I do that it ruins all the spin/move steps. Want I kinda need is the ability to run step 13 with step one (whilst leaving the build order in the same rank)..unless somebody has got another way to do this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an external that I use with Time Machine, however I don't need incremental backups. Rather, what I would like is only one backup so that I can save space. In this backup, however, I would like specific things to change that change on my computer, as TM already does with its incremental backups. So basically I just want to condense the function of TM into one single backup that will update whenever I back up again. I realize this is not the primary function of TM, but is there any way to make this possible? Or is there any other software that would do this? I've heard of Silverkeeper and Retrospect, but never used them.

The girl told the group that Time Machine would make a perfect mirrored image of the hard drive in case of catastrophic failure. I asked her if this image was a boot-able clone and she said yes.

I restored my pro from a time machine machine backup and now it displays the time incorrectly (-1hr). 'Set date & time automatically' is checked in system prefs which makes the problem even weirder. I'm using the Apple Europe sever too.
I've read somewhere about deleting a hidden file to solve the problem, but there isn't enough information to execute.
I just got a 1TB time capsule after the recent refresh. Set up both my mbps for the time machine with the TC. The mbp 17" will be permanently connect to the TC via ethernet, while the 13" is wirelessly linked.
However I noticed from the mbp 17" TM preference panel that it doesn't show the specific time for the current and next backup time. See below:-
I did a search and come up with this thread. I tried the suggested method of deleting the com.apple.TimeMachine.plist file from ~library/preference/ folder. I even reformat the TC hdd via airport utility and reboot the system. Then I did a rebackup with time machine. BUT I STILL GET THE SAME RESULT~~!!!!!
What am I doing wrong? Is there something I'm missing? I just want it to show my next backup time like what my mbp13" is showing. Anyone?
P/S: IF I enter Time Machine, after exiting TM I get a mounted sparse bundle of my mbp 17" TM backup. Is there anyway to get it to unmount automatically? Is it usual for a sparse bundle to stay mounted once we exit from TM?

I go to File, Open select my video file(mp4) and open it. It plays with no problem in the preview window in fcp. But when I drag it onto the time line the video plays but there is just loud beeps continously.Nothings wrong with the video clip. I tried several different ones. Sometimes it doesnt play the video at all and just says unrendered when i put it on the timeline.

I know there are video tutorials but I'd rather have a book that I can have sitting next to me when I am on my Macbook Pro or that I can read when I am out and about.
